        Artificial Intelligence and Air Pollution : A Bibliometric Analysis from 2012 to 2022

        The application of artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming increasingly important to coping with air pollution. AI is effective in coping with it in various ways including air pollution forecasting, monitoring, and control, which is attracting a lot of attention. This attention has created high need for analyzing studies on AI and air pollution. To contribute for satisfying it, this study performed bibliometric analyses on the studies on AI and air pollution from 2012 to 2022 using the Web of Science database. This study analyzed them in various aspects such as the trend in the number of articles, the trend in the number of citations, the top 10 countries of origin, the top 10 research organizations, the top 10 research funding agencies, the top 10 journals, the top 10 articles in terms of total citations, and the distribution by languages. This study not only reports the bibliometric analysis results but also reveals the eight distinct features in the research steam in studies on AI and air pollution, identified from the bibliometric analysis results. They are expected to make a useful contribution for understanding the research stream in AI and air pollution.

        새로운 관점에서의 무증거성 전자 입찰 시스템에 대한 안전성 분석

        Recently, a receipt-free scheme is rising for a secure e-auction. The goal of a receipt-free scheme in an e-auction is to prevent a bid-rigging. If the bid-rigging happens in the e-auction, the winner can get the bidding item with an unreasonably low price. The first receipt-free scheme for the e-auction was proposed by Abe and Suzuki. Chen, Lee and Kim also proposed the extended receipt-free scheme. In this paper, we point out that the existed receipt-free schemes do not prevent perfectly the bid-rigging attack. Moreover, we indicate that a bid-collision is a possible cause of an e-auction. In the strict sense, the bid-collusion is different from the bid-rigging. We compare the bid-rigging attack with the bid-collusion attack, and analyze the security of the existed receipt-free schemes in a viewpoint of the bid-rigging attack and the bid-collusion attack. Especially, we present the bid-rigging attack by a seller in Chen et al.'s scheme. In this paper, we do not present the scheme which can prevent the bid-collision attack. 최근 들어, 전자입찰 시스템에서의 무증거성에 대한 문제가 새로운 이슈로 대두되고 있다. 무증거성 기법의 목적은 강제 입찰을 막기 위한 기법이다. 전자입찰에서 강제입찰이 발생하면, 강제자가 항상 특별한 이유 없이 낮은 가격으로 낙찰자가 되는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 Abe 등(2002)이 전자입찰을 위한 최초의 무증거성 기법을 제안하였으며, Chen 등(2003)이 전자입찰에서의 향상된 무증거성 기법을 제안하였다. 본 논문에서는, 기존의 무증거성 기법이 강제 입찰을 완벽하게 막을 수 없다는 문제점을 지적하고 담합 입찰에 대한 방지 기법의 필요성에 대하여 분석한다. 특히 강제 입찰과 담합 입찰은 엄격히 말해 다른 문제이므로, 강제 입찰과 담합 입찰을 비교 설명하고, 기존의 전자 입찰의 무증거성 기법을 강제 입찰과 담합 입찰의 관점에서 안전성을 분석한다.

        The Impact of Outer R&D Knowledge Network on SMEs’ Sales Growth: The Mediating Effect of Diversification into New Business Field

        The goal of this study is to empirically look into what effect the outer research and development (R&D) knowledge network of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) has on their sales growth and diversification into new business field. Outer R&D knowledge network is of importance to increasing the competitiveness of SMEs through technological innovation. But, relevant prior studies show the limitations that they hardly explored the mediating effect of SMEs diversification into new business field in the relationship between their outer R&D knowledge network and sales growth and they have scarcely answered which outer R&D knowledge network, outer R&D collaboration network or R&D information network, has a more positive impact on their sales growth. Therefore, this study reveals the following four points by analyzing the 2,200 data of South Korea SMEs. First, SMEs’ diversification into new business field partially mediates the positive impact of their outer R&D collaboration network diversity on their sales growth. Second, SMEs’ diversification into new business field partially mediates the positive impact of their outer R&D information network diversity on their sales growth. Third, SMEs’ outer R&D information network diversity has a more positive effect on their sales growth than their R&D collaboration network diversity has. Fourth, SMEs’ outer R&D collaboration network diversity has a more positive effect on their diversification into new business field than their outer R&D information network diversity has.

        IT SMEs’ Product Planning Capability and Manufacturing Capability in the Context of Digital Convergence: The Mediating Impacts of the Product Exterior and Interior Design Capabilities

        IT SMEs' product planning, product design, and manufacturing capabilities are of importance to creating their sustainable competitive advantages in the context of digital convergence. However, there have been few empirical studies investigating the relationships among them, which has made this research attempt to model the relationships and empirically test them. Especially, this study divided IT SMEs' product design capability into the product exterior and interior design capabilities and focused on the mediating effects of the product exterior and interior design capabilities between the product planning and manufacturing capabilities. By analyzing the 310 samples of Korean IT SMEs with the ordinary least squares regression analysis, this study has empirically revealed that IT SMEs' product exterior and interior design capability jointly and fully mediate the positive relationship between their product planning and manufacturing capabilities.

      • 편측 척추체간 후방융합술 환자의 임상결과와 골융합 성공률에 대한 분석

        Objective:The goal of study is the evaluation of clinicofunctional outcomes and fusion success rates of unilateral posterior lumbar interbody fusion(PLIF) using cages. Methods:The authors conducted retrospective study of 81 patients who underwent unilateral PLIF using cages. The outpatient notes, standard hospital charts, and pre-and postoperative imaging studies were analyzed. In this study pre-and postoperative back pain, radiating pain, fusion success rates, pseudoarthrosis, clinicofunctional outcome, and complications were evaluated. Follow-up duration ranged from 3 to 8 years. Results:Eighty-one patients underwent unilateral PLIF using 98 cages(TFC:37, CH cage:25, Novus cage 36). Two-level fusion was performed in 17 patients. There were 48 men(59%) and 33 women(41%). Seventh decade was most common(47%). The most common site of PLIF was at L4-5 space(69.4%) and left side(58%) was prevalent. Fusion was successful in 91 out of 98 levels(92.8%) and pseudoarthrosis was observed in five patients(7 level, 7%). The clinicofunctional results by Prolo scale were as follows:good(score 8-10):80.3%, moderate(score 6-7):14.8%, poor(score 5 or less 5):4.9%. Device migration was observed in six cases:5(20%) of 25 CH cages and 1(2.8%) of 36 Novus cages. Conclusion:Unilateral PLIF using cage is one of method to decrease the rates of iatrogenic complications in patient of unilateral symptomatic spinal instability while preserving normal anatomic structures with good fusion success rates and clinicofunctional results after surgery.         The Impacts of the Internal and External Technology R&D Investments on Korean IT SMEs’Success in Technology Development

        In order to increase the effectiveness of technology R&D investment, it is essential for Korean small and medium sized-enterprises (SMEs) in the information technology (IT) sector to have good knowledge about the impacts of their internal and external technology R&D investments on their success in technology development. Accordingly, this research empirically analyzed the respective impacts of Korean IT SMEs' internal and external technology R&D investments on their success in technology development and compared their effect sizes. The statistical analysis results of this study by using the Cobb-Douglas type innovation production function and 310 samples collected from Korean IT SMEs have presented the following findings which prior studies on SMEs' R&D investment have not shed enough light on so far. First, both internal and external technology R&D investments have positive impacts on Korean IT SMEs' success in technology development. Second, The effect of the internal technology R&D investment is about twice larger than the effect of the external technology R&D investment on Korean IT SMEs' success in technology development. Third, Korean IT SMEs' Cobb-Douglas type innovation production function shows the decreasing return to scale. Based on these findings, this research provides new meaningful academic and practical implications for scholars and CEOs in Korean IT SMEs.

        IT SME Ventures’ External Information Network Diversity and Productivity Improvement : The Mediating Role of the Production Period Reduction

        This study empirically analyzes the effect of IT SME ventures’ external information network diversity on their production period reduction and productivity improvement generated from technology development. This research constructs a mediating model based on the open innovation perspective and tests it with the 138 samples of South Korean IT SME ventures based on the ordinary least squares regression. This research is expected to make a good contribution by shedding a new light on the following three points about the critical role of IT SME ventures’ external information network diversity in increasing their production period reduction and productivity improvement generated from technology development which has scarcely been illuminated in the extant studies in the field of the management of technology for SMEs. First, IT SME ventures’ external information network diversity positively influences their production period reduction. Second, the external information network diversity positively influences IT SMEs’ ventures’ productivity improvement. Third, IT SME ventures’ production period reduction partially mediates the influence of IT SME ventures’ external network diversity on their productivity improvement. These three fresh points are expected to provide useful theoretical and practical implications. Related to the theoretical implication, this research provides a fresh implication that IT SME ventures’ external information network diversity positively influences not only their production period reduction but also productivity improvement generated from technology development. Concerning the practical implication, this study suggests that the CEOs in IT SME ventures make strategic efforts to use more diverse external information sources in order to increase their production period reduction and productivity improvement generated from technology development.
