There always exist nonzero inspection errors whether inspectors are humans or automatic inspection machines. Inspection errors can be categorized by two types, type I error and type II error, and they can be regarded as either a constant or a random variable. Under the assumption that two types of random inspection errors are distributed with the “uniform” distribution on a half-open interval starting from zero, it was proved that inspectors overestimate any given fraction defective with the probability more than 50%, if and only if the given fraction defective is smaller than a critical value, which depends upon only the ratio of a type II error over a type I error. In addition, it was also proved that the probability of overestimation approaches one hundred percent as a given fraction defective approaches zero. If these critical phenomena hold true for any error distribution, then it might have great economic impact on commercial inspection plans due to the unfair overestimation and the recent trend of decreasing fraction defectives in industry. In this paper, we deal with the same overestimation problem, but assume a “symmetrical triangular” distribution expecting better results since our triangular distribution is closer to a normal distribution than the uniform distribution. It turns out that the overestimation phenomenon still holds true even for the triangular error distribution.

장결핵의 흔한 합병증은 천공, 폐색, 누공, 영양결핍 등이 있으며 대량의 위장관 출혈이 합병되는 경우는 매우 드물다. 또한 장결핵에 의한 다량 출혈이 있는 경우에 수술적인 치료를 하게 되며 경도자 동맥색전술로 치료한 경우는 세계적으로 아직 보고된 바가 없다. 연자 등은 공장 결핵에 의해 활력징후가 불안정할 정도의 대량 출혈이 있었던 환자에서 응급으로 상부장간막동맥 혈관조영술을 시행하여 공장동맥의 분지에서 출혈이 있음을 확인하고 경도자 동맥색전술로 치료한

In this paper, we readdress a layout design problem, PTL[3], for determining an optimal 3-class-based dedicated linear storage layout in a class of unit load storage systems. Based on some fundamental properties derived, we provide a converging exact algorithm with , which is more efficient than that of Yang and Kim [8] and can be applied to PTL[K] with in order to reduce computational execution time. In addition, we prove that the necessary condition suggested by them is also a sufficient condition to PTL[3].

This paper deals with the economic feasibility model and analysis of a hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle [FCV] against two similar types of non-business vehicles fueled with gasoline [GV] and diesel [DV] considering greenhouse gas [GHG]. Considering the price of vehicles and annual operating cost, we build a classical economic feasibility model. Since the economic feasibility could be affected by many input factors such as the prices of vehicles, the price of fuels, annual driving distance and so on, we estimate the average future values of input factors, which is defined as the average case. Based on the average case, we assess the representative economic feasibility of a FCV with/without GHG, and by changing various annual driving distances, we assess its economy in terms of net-present value, internal rate of return, and payback period. In addition, we make some sensitivity analysis of its economic feasibility by changing the values of the critical input factors one at time. Based on the average case, it turns out that the consumer of a FCV could save 25,000 won/year for a GV, but the consumer could pay 120,000 won/year more for a DV. This indicates that gasoline vehicles could be replaced gradually by FCVs in Korean market which might be formed by those consumers driving annually more than approximately 14,800 km. As the results of our sensitivity analysis, it turns out that a FCV is no more economical if the difference of the prices between FCV and GV is more than 10,130,000 won or the price of hydrogen fuel could be more than 5,136 won/kg.
