朴炳目,李斗炯,張忠鉉 大韓成形外科學會 1986 Archives of Plastic Surgery Vol.13 No.2
In 1939 Ota presented under the somewhat cryptic title of "Nevus fusco-caeruleus ophthalmomaxillaris" an syndrome consisting of grayish-blue, macular discoloration affecting the sclera of an eye and the ipsilateral facial skin in the area of distribution of the corresponding trigeminal nerve. Ota'a nevus is usually a unilateral, non hairy, macular, but slightly raised, discoloration of the face. Ota's nevus has been reported most often in Orientals, though other races may also be affected. And Ota's nevus was one of the disease which was formed frequently in plastic and reconstructive surgery patients in Korea. Various attempts to treat Ota's nevus were practiced, but they have been uniformly unsuccessful. So Ota's nevus was reviewed, which was treated with excision, cryosurgery (dry ice), dermabrasion skin graft and CO₂LASER surgery from March 1975 to February, 1984 at Kyung Hee University hospital. The conclusions are as follows; 1. With the above methods, complete treatment without scar formation and pigmentation was impossible. 2. LASER surgery was the single method which revealed relatively high satisfactory rate(71%). 3. By combined treatment with LASER and cryosugery increased satisfactory rate (75%).
