<P>A highly efficient two-dimensional (2D) nanocatalyst for the aerobic oxidation of amines, consisting of ruthenium-exfoliated molybdenum disulfide (Ru@E-MoS2), was investigated. As-synthesized Ru@E-MoS2 yielded the nitriles from various aromatic, aliphatic, allylic, and heteroatomic amines with high selectivity in molecular oxygen as terminal oxidants. The Ru@E-MoS2 experienced an improved catalytic activity for benzylamine and p-substituted benzylamine derivatives and produced good turnover numbers (TONs) for aliphatic amines. Moreover, the heterogeneous Ru@E-MoS2 nanocatalyst maintained its catalytic performance for five cycles of benzylamine oxidation reaction.</P>

A facile eco-friendly heterogeneous catalytic system has been developed for amide synthesis that furtherutilized in pharmaceutical and organic chemistry. The Ru/MnO2 catalyst has shown outstanding andunprecedented activity for a wide range of aliphatic and benzylic nitriles in green solvent water at 60 C. The system has also exhibited a remarkable tolerance for selective hydration of heteroatom (e.g. nitrogen,oxygen and sulphur atoms) containing nitriles. Pharmaceutically important nicotinamides andpyrazinamide has been synthesized by hydration of the heteroatomic nitriles with appreciable yieldsand selectivities. Moreover, the Ru/MnO2 catalyst has employed water as a benign solvent, with morethan 30,000 TONs and reusabilityfive times after isolation from the reaction mixture by centrifugationand easy workup that established a path for green environmental and technologically acceptableprotocol.

친환경적 조건에서의 니트릴의 수화 반응은 아미드를 생산하기 위한 가장 경제적이고 매력적인 방법이다. 고체 금속산화물과 지지체를 이용한 전이 금속 촉매 시스템은 이러한 니트릴 수화 반응을 보다 향상시키기 위한 의미 있는 연구로써 수행되어져 왔다. 이들 촉매들의 중요한 특징은 방향족, 지방족, 이종 원자형, 지방족 고리형 등의 니트릴들을 포함하는 넓은 범위의 다양한 기질들에 적용된다는 것이다. 또한 이들은 높은 촉매적 활성을 유지하면서 여러 번의 재사용성이 가능하고 반응 후 그 혼합물로부터 분리가 용이하다는 장점들을 갖는다. 이 리뷰를 통하여 니트릴 수화반응을 통한 아미드 합성에 적용되는 금속 산화물과 지지체를 가진 금속 촉매들에 대해 알아본다. Hydration of nitriles in the environmentally benign neutral conditions is the most economical and attractive way to produce amides. Substantial research works have been carried out to apply the solid metal oxides and transition metal supported catalytic systems to promote the hydration of nitriles. The most significant feature of these catalysts is the applicability to a wide range of substrates including aromatic, alicyclic, hetero-atomic, and aliphatic nitriles. These catalysts are also characterized by the easy isolation from the reaction mixture and the reusability while maintaining the high catalytic activity. This review accounts over the detailed survey of the metal oxide and solid supported metal catalysts for preparing amides from the hydration of nitriles.

본 리뷰 논문은 지지화된 또는 고정화된 금속들 중 선택적 알코올 산화 반응에 적용된 나노 크기의 여러 금속 촉매들에 대해 집중적으로 서술한다. 금속 나노 촉매들은 넓은 표면적을 지닌 고체 지지체들의 표면 위에 금속 나노 입자들의 고른 분산을 통해 얻어진다. 이러한 나노 촉매들은 유기 합성, 연료 전지, 바이오 디젤 생산, 오일 크래킹, 에너지변환 및 저장, 의약, 수처리, 고체 로켓 추진체, 염료 제조 등 학문적·산업적 측면 모두 다양하게 사용될 수 있다. 더욱이, 응용성이 풍부한 중간체들을 생산하는 호기성 알코올 산화 반응에서 금속 나노 재료는 촉매로써 매우 중요하다. 금, 팔라듐, 류테늄, 바나디움 등과 같은 지지화된 금속 나노 촉매들의 알코올 산화 반응은 기존의 화학 당량적 반응과 달리 비용을 경감시키고 부반응물들을 줄임으로써 경제적이고 친환경적이다. 뿐만 아니라, 상온에서 진행된 나노 촉매 알코올 산화 반응에 대해서도 소개된다. This review article highlights different types of nano-sized catalysts for the selective alcohol oxidation to form aldehydes (or ketones) with supported or immobilized metal nanoparticles. Metal nanoparticle catalysts are obtained through dispersing metal nanoparticles over a solid support with a large surface area. The nanocatalysts have wide technological applications to industrial and academic fields such as organic synthesis, fuel cells, biodiesel production, oil cracking, energy conversion and storage, medicine, water treatment, solid rocket propellants, chemicals and dyes. One of main reactions for the nanocatalyst is an aerobic oxidation of alcohols to produce important intermediates for various applications. The oxidation of alcohols by supported nanocatalysts including gold, palladium, ruthenium, and vanadium is very economical, green and environmentally benign reaction leading to decrease byproducts and reduce the cost of reagents as opposed to stoichiometric reactions. In addition, the room temperature alcohol oxidation using nanocatalysts is introduced.

Objective: Due to current selection practices for increased egg production and peak persistency, the production profile, age at maturity, and body weight criteria for commercial layers are constantly changing. Body weight and age at the time of photostimulation will thus always be the factors that need to be adequately addressed among various production systems. The current study was carried out to determine the effects of pullets' body weight (low, medium, and heavy) on their performance, welfare, physiological response, and hormonal profile. Methods: With regard to live weight, 150 16-week-old pullets were divided into three groups using a completely randomized design (CRD) and held until the 50th week. One-way analysis of variance was used to evaluate the data under the CRD, and the least significant difference test was used to distinguish between treatment means. Results: In comparison to the medium and light birds, the heavy birds had higher body weight at maturity, an earlier age at maturity, and higher egg weight, eggshell weight, eggshell thickness, egg yolk index, breaking strength, egg surface area, egg shape index, egg volume, and hormonal profile except corticosterone. However, the medium and light birds had lower feed consumption rates per dozen eggs and per kilogram of egg mass than the heavy birds. Light birds showed greater body weight gain, egg production, and egg specific gravity than the other categories. At 20 weeks of age, physiological response, welfare aspects, and catalase were non-significant; however, at 50 weeks of age, all these factors—aside from catalase—were extremely significant. Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate that layers can function at lower body weights during photostimulation; hence, dietary regimens that result in lighter pullets may be preferable. Additionally, the welfare of the birds was not compromised by the lighter weight group.

Background: There is growing evidence that there are differences in histological and genetic characteristics along with clinical behavior between right- and left-sided colon carcinomas. We have compared various parameters of the two types and assessed associations of the results with prognosis in patients in Pakistan. Materials and Methods: We reviewed 200 cases from our institutional database; 100 cases of right-sided and 100 cases of left-sided colon cancer. Parameters including age, gender, TNM stage, histological features and clinical outcome were analyzed. Results: The patients with right-sided colon cancer were significantly older as compared to their counterparts with left-sided cancer. They presented with a lumbar mass rather than symptoms of obstruction and perforation as seen in left-sided colon cancers, and the histology showed higher percentage of poorly differentiated tumors with advanced pT stage. Moreover, Crohn's-like reactions, intra tumoral lymphocyte responses and other poor prognostic factors like lymph vascular invasion and perineural invasion were more common in right-sided cancers. Conclusions: We found that right- and left-sided colon cancers are different from each other in terms of clinical presentation, histology and clinical behavior. Right-sided colon cancers are more aggressive and are associated with poorer clinical outcome as compared to left sided colon cancers in our population.

The Mg–Al–graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) nano-composites were synthesized using the powder metallurgy method. The effect of Al–GNPs hybrids addition in to pure Mg was examined through tensile and Vicker hardness tests. The GNPs content was kept constant (0.18 wt.%) and Al content was varied from 0.5 wt.% to 1.5 wt.%. The increase in Al content led to increase in 0.2%YS, UTS and failure strain (%). However for Al content exceeding over 1 wt.%, the failure strain(%) started to decrease. The best improvement was achieved with 1 wt.% Al (Mg–1.0Al–0.18GNPs). Mechanical strength of synthesized composites proved to be better than Mg–Al–CNTs and Mg–ceramic composites.

The study is conducted to find out the impact of the country- and corporate-level governance and firm internationalization on stock liquidity of 120 listed firms in Japan, Hong Kong, Pakistan, and India. Panel data is used in the current study. The annual time span covered in the current study is 10 years. The current study explores results based on secondary data. The findings of the ‘robust panel corrected standard error’ estimator shows that the internationalization strategy of firms positively influences the stock liquidity. The internationalization strategy of multinational corporations proves to be an effective methodology for improving stock liquidity in the home market as well as abroad. The study also shows that a stronger relationship exists between stock liquidity and internationalization in those countries where the regulatory settings are effective, the judiciary system is efficient and shareholders’ rights are protected. Corporate governance and stock liquidity are negatively associated. The study also finds a negative relationship between country-level governance mechanisms and stock liquidity. Whereas the ‘robust panel corrected error’ estimator shows a positive association between corporate governance mechanisms and firm internationalization. The study depicts that effective corporate governance motivates multinational companies to expand their business abroad.
