Super-resolution (SR) stands as a prominent challenge in computer vision with diverse applications. Generative adversarial networks (GANs) yield impressive SR outcomes by restoring high-quality images from low-resolution input. However, GAN-based SR (particularly generators) have high memory demands, leading to performance degradation and energy consumption, making them unsuitable for resource-limited devices. Addressing this concern, our paper introduces a novel and efficient SR-GAN (generator) model architecture by strategically leveraging knowledge distillation, which results in reducing storage demands by 58% while enhancing performance. Our approach involves extracting feature maps from a resourceintensive model to design a lightweight model with minimal computational and memory requirements. Experiments across several benchmarks demonstrate that the proposed compressed model outperforms existing knowledge distillation-based techniques, particularly in regard to SSIM, PSNR, and overall image quality in x4 super-resolution tasks. In the future, this compressed model will be implemented and benchmarked with existing models in resource-limited devices such as tablet and wearing devices.
On lacunary $\Delta^{m}$-statistical convergence in g-metric spaces
Asif Hussain Jan,TANWEER JALAL 강원경기수학회 2024 한국수학논문집 Vol.32 No.1
The aim of this research is to describe lacunary $\Delta^{m}$-statistically convergent sequences with respect to metrics on generalised metric spaces (g-metric spaces) and to look into the fundamental characteristics of this statistical form of convergence. Also, the relationship between strong summability and lacunary $\Delta^{m}$-statistical convergence in g-metric space is established at the end.

A highly efficient two-dimensional (2D) nanocatalyst for the aerobic oxidation of amines, consisting of ruthenium-exfoliated molybdenum disulfide (Ru@E-MoS2), was investigated. As-synthesized Ru@E-MoS2 yielded the nitriles from various aromatic, aliphatic, allylic, and heteroatomic amines with high selectivity in molecular oxygen as terminal oxidants. The Ru@E-MoS2 experienced an improved catalytic activity for benzylamine and p-substituted benzylamine derivatives and produced good turnover numbers (TONs) for aliphatic amines. Moreover, the heterogeneous Ru@E-MoS2 nanocatalyst maintained its catalytic performance for five cycles of benzylamine oxidation reaction.

Consequent-Pole Hybrid Brushless Wound-Rotor Synchronous Machine
Hussain, Asif,Atiq, Shahid,Kwon, Byung-il IEEE 2018 IEEE transactions on magnetics Vol.54 No.11

This paper presents a novel consequent-pole hybrid brushless wound-rotor synchronous machine (CPH-BL-WRSM). The proposed machine employs permanent magnets (PMs) on the alternate poles of the salient pole rotor, which has considerably less magnet usage compared to the regular (PM) assisted synchronous machine. The proposed CPH-BL-WRSM offered the advantages of high starting torque, high torque density, and better performance under full-load conditions. The BL operation for the proposed machine is achieved by generating a composite magneto motive force (MMF) with a fundamental component and sub-harmonic component. The sub-harmonic component of the stator MMF is used for BL excitation of the rotor. The finite-element method was used to analyze the performance of the CPH-BL-WRSM in comparison with the performance of the existing BL-WRSM and regular PM-assisted BL-WRSM. Finally, a prototype of the CPH-BL-WRSM was manufactured and the experiment was conducted to demonstrate the performance of the proposed CPH-BL-WRSM.

An Active Forward Fly-back Balancing Circuit for Series Connected Supercapacitors
Asif Hussain(아시프),Hakjun Lee(이학준),Seung-Ki Sul(설승기) 전력전자학회 2010 전력전자학술대회 논문집 Vol.2010 No.7
This paper presents an active voltage balancing approach using a forward fly-back power converter. In the proposed balancing scheme, cell with the higher voltage is selected to extract the extra energy and then a proportion of this extracted energy is distributed to other supercapacitors via the proposed circuit. A system structure consisting of five supercapacitors is built up to verify operation of the proposed scheme.

In this article, we construct lacunary $\Delta^m$-statistical convergence for triple sequences within the context of intuitionistic fuzzy n-normed spaces (IFnNS). For lacunary $\Delta^m$-statistical convergence of triple sequence in IFnNS, we demonstrate numerous results. For this innovative notion of convergence, we further built lacunary $\Delta^m$-statistical Cauchy sequences and offered the Cauchy convergence criterion.

A facile eco-friendly heterogeneous catalytic system has been developed for amide synthesis that furtherutilized in pharmaceutical and organic chemistry. The Ru/MnO2 catalyst has shown outstanding andunprecedented activity for a wide range of aliphatic and benzylic nitriles in green solvent water at 60 C. The system has also exhibited a remarkable tolerance for selective hydration of heteroatom (e.g. nitrogen, oxygen and sulphur atoms) containing nitriles. Pharmaceutically important nicotinamides andpyrazinamide has been synthesized by hydration of the heteroatomic nitriles with appreciable yieldsand selectivities. Moreover, the Ru/MnO2 catalyst has employed water as a benign solvent, with morethan 30,000 TONs and reusabilityfive times after isolation from the reaction mixture by centrifugationand easy workup that established a path for green environmental and technologically acceptableprotocol.

Hydration of nitriles in the environmentally benign neutral conditions is the most economical and attractive way to produce amides. Substantial research works have been carried out to apply the solid metal oxides and transition metal supported catalytic systems to promote the hydration of nitriles. The most significant feature of these catalysts is the applicability to a wide range of substrates including aromatic, alicyclic, hetero-atomic, and aliphatic nitriles. These catalysts are also characterized by the easy isolation from the reaction mixture and the reusability while maintaining the high catalytic activity. This review accounts over the detailed survey of the metal oxide and solid supported metal catalysts for preparing amides from the hydration of nitriles.
