Kim, Serim,Jeong, Ji Hee,Chung, Hee,Kim, Ji Hyeon,Gil, Jinsu,Yoo, Jemin,Um, Yurry,Kim, Ok Tae,Kim, Tae Dong,Kim, Yong-Yul,Lee, Dong Hoon,Kim, Ho Bang,Lee, Yi The Korean Society of Plant Biotechnology 2016 식물생명공학회지 Vol.43 No.2
In this study, we developed 15 novel polymorphic simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers by SSR-enriched genomic library construction from Codonopsis lanceolata. We obtained a total of 226 non-redundant contig sequences from the assembly process and designed primer sets. These markers were applied to 53 accessions representing the cultivated C. lanceolata in South Korea. Fifteen markers were sufficiently polymorphic, and were used to analyze the genetic relationships between the cultivated C. lanceolata. One hundred three alleles of the 15 SSR markers ranged from 3 to 19 alleles at each locus, with an average of 6.87. By cluster analysis, we detected clear genetic differences in most of the accessions, with genetic distance varying from 0.73 to 0.93. Phylogenic analysis indicated that the accessions that were collected from the same area were distributed evenly in the phylogenetic tree. These results indicate that there is no correlative genetic relationship between geographic areas. These markers will be useful in differentiating C. lanceolata genetic resources and in selecting suitable lines for a systemic breeding program.

The purpose of this study was to identify the kinematic sequence of the “grand jete en tournant motion”, which refers to working on the ballet dancers`` body motions. Nineteen skilled female collegiate and high school ballet dancers performed the grand jete en tournant (1st arms position with left leg derrire-plie-chasse-jumping-arabesque pose; five successful trials for each participants). For the kinematic sequence, the graph lines showed a start inclination (increase acceleration) and declination (decrease acceleration) pattern of proximal and distal segments. The pelvis showed a peak angular velocity value during the grand jete en tournant motion.

Orally administered collagen peptides could contribute to antiaging by replacing the degraded extracellular matrix proteins caused by photoaging. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of low-molecular-weight collagen peptides for treating photoaged and dry skin. In this randomized, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, double-blinded trial, we randomly assigned study participants (n = 100) to either the test product group or placebo group at a 1:1 ratio for 12 weeks. The wrinkle scale score, eye wrinkle volume, roughness parameters, such as the average maximum height of the wrinkle (Rz), arithmetic average within the total measuring length of the wrinkle (Ra), maximum profile valley depth of the wrinkle (Rv), and skin hydration, transepidermal water loss (TEWL), overall elasticity (R2), and ratio of elastic recovery to total deformation (R7) were evaluated at baseline, 6 weeks, and 12 weeks. Safety assessments with serial blood tests were also conducted. Efficacy assessments of data from 84 participants were conducted as the per-protocol analysis. After 12 weeks, the 10-grade crow's feet photo scale score, eye wrinkle volume, skin roughness parameters (Rz, Ra, and Rv), skin elasticity (R2 and R7), skin hydration, and TEWL were significantly improved in the test product group compared to the placebo group. There were no adverse events or abnormalities according to laboratory analysis associated with using the test material during the study period. This study showed that the oral supplementation of low-molecular-weight collagen peptides could improve the wrinkles, elasticity, hydration, and barrier integrity of photoaged facial skin. This clinical study was registered with the Korean Clinical Research Information Service and International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (No: KCT0006500).
Omalizumab as a possible therapeutic option for erythema annulare centrifugum
( Jemin Kim ),( Howard Chu ),( Chang Ook Park ) 대한피부과학회 2018 대한피부과학회 학술발표대회집 Vol.70 No.1
Erythema annulare centrifugum (EAC) is a type of gyrate erythema characterized by expanding erythematous rings that enlarge rapidly, fade, and then disappear, as new lesions appear. There is no standardized treatment for EAC, in which only symptomatic relief is available. Systemic steroid may suppress EAC, but recurrence is common. Other therapies, such as antihistamines, may also be used, but their efficacies are variable. A 43-year-old male presented with multiple erythematous annular patches that began about 6 months ago. He had been treated with systemic steroid with some effects, but it recurred soon after discontinuation. A biopsy of the skin lesion revealed superficial perivascular lymphocytic infiltration with a “perivascular cuffing” pattern, confirming the diagnosis as EAC. Systemic cyclosporine and antihistamines were tried, but were not very effective. The patient’s serum total IgE was found to be increased (1167IU/mL), and omalizumab, an anti-IgE monoclonal antibody, was tried. The lesions subsided dramatically and persisted for about 3 weeks. Although the relationship between serum total IgE level and EAC is unknown and the mechanism of omalizumab in EAC needs to be elucidated, omalizumab may be a treatment option in EAC.
Ginkgo biloba extract as an adjuvant therapeutic option for recalcitrant livedoid vasculopathy
( Jemin Kim ),( Howard Chu ),( Chang Ook Park ) 대한피부과학회 2018 대한피부과학회 학술발표대회집 Vol.70 No.1
Livedoid vasculopathy (LV) is a rare microvascular thrombotic skin disease which usually represented as recurrent chronic ulcers on the lower extremities. Several therapeutic modalities have been used with variable success, but there is no single therapy has proven effectiveness due to low incidence and lack of multicenter studies. A 45-year-old male with diagnosis of LV made 5 years ago, required hospitalization due to severe pain caused by multiple focal purpuric ulcerative lesions with livedo reticularis and atrophie blanche. He underwent several unsuccessful treatments including corticosteroids, anabolic steroids, antiplatelets, and even TNF-α inhibitors. Oral ginkgo biloba extract (80mg, tid) was prescribed along with pentoxifylline (400mg, tid). After 2 months of the medication, significant reduction in pain and healing of ulcers were reported by patient. As previous studies showed ginkgo biloba extract exerts vascular protection functions via various mechanisms, it may be a useful adjuvant treatment option for recalcitrant livedoid vasculopathy.
Taint Analysis Scheme using Concolic Execution to Find XSS Flaws in Legacy Java Web Applications
Jemin Kim,Joonseok Park 한국차세대컴퓨팅학회 2022 한국차세대컴퓨팅학회 학술대회 Vol.2022 No.10
Cross-site scripting(XSS) is one of the major threats in web services. Many legacy web applications, which are prevalent in industry, are vulnerable to XSS. This paper proposes dynamic taint analysis scheme by using concolic execution to prevent XSS. Our proposed scheme has no false alarm, at the same time, minimizes required dynamic taint analysis time to cover all execution path. In this manner we can find the exact input data set, which causes the XSS threat. We defined instrumentation scheme for taint analysis and concolic executions. The instrumentation phase for the Java servlet code is automated. The experimental results on test set of SecuriBench Micro, demonstrated the validity of proposed scheme. It detects 90.63% of XSS threats while showing 0% of false positive.
Multifocal aplasia cutis congenita
( Jemin Kim ),( Jihee Kim ),( Sang Ho Oh ) 대한피부과학회 2018 대한피부과학회 학술발표대회집 Vol.70 No.1
Aplasia cutis congenita (ACC) is an uncommon congenital skin disorder which described as focal, localized absence or defects of the skin in neonates. Clinical presentation of ACC is heterogenous, but most cases of ACC are known to solitary lesion involving scalp. We report a rare presentation of ACC with multifocal, symmetric, discrete lesions on whole body. A male infant born in the 39th week of gestation was referred for multiple skin lesions right after delivery. There were multiple, symmetric, round, well demarcated, coin sized full thickness of skin defects on whole body including scalp and both extremities. no blisters or vesicle like lesions were observed and did not involve mucosa or dystrophic nails. Further investigations in search of possible anomalies showed normal results. Since there were no newly formed lesions in first few days and the lesions showed signs of spontaneous healing, we started conservative treatment with occlusive dressing. At 1 month of age, most of the lesions were healed with cicatrization. During the observation period there was no sign of infection or aggravation of the lesions and lesions remained intact up to 9 months. There have scarcely been reported that ACCs with extensive, symmetrical involvement. In addition, our case has unique clinical features showing multifocal lesions. Herein, we present the clinical presentation of atypical ACC and its clinical course.

Jemin Kim,Byungjin Ma,Kwanhun Lee 대한전자공학회 2008 ICEIC:International Conference on Electronics, Inf Vol.1 No.1
The void and delamination on the surface of the SC-type optical fixed attenuators under damp heat condition were detected and analyzed. We improved them by modifying cleaning process, housing structures and materials of parts. Then the performance and reliability of old and new models were checked. The results of several environmental tests such as damp heat and mechanical test showed that the improved model had the advantages of production cost and environmental characteristics analyzed by using statistical method such as T-test.

Injection of paraffin causes granulomatous foreign body reaction commonly known as paraffinoma. Two middle aged women visited the clinic with history of asymptomatic, irregular contoured plaque on the forehead. Both had history of paraffin injections to the forehead more than 5 years before the visit. The injections were performed by non-medical personnel. Physical examination revealed a partially erythematous, indurated, firm nodule on the glabella and sclerotic textural changes over the malar aspect of the cheeks. The formation of a foreign body granuloma is common complication of paraffin or silicone injection on the skin. When possible, surgical removal is the most effective modality to prevent relapse or exacerbation of the lesion. However, complete surgical removal is not possible especially in patients with long standing history who presents with dispersed nodular lesions. Both patients underwent serial treatments with non-ablative and ablative fractional laser along with intralesional triamcinolone injection for the deep seated nodules. After 3 and 5 sessions of treatment, respectively, irregular contour and skin texture were much improved. No patient develops adverse side effects after the laser treatment. Based on the successful treatment outcome observed in the patients, we suggest that fractional laser can be an effective modality for the treatment of foreign body granuloma induced by paraffin.
