Four-Array Printed Monopole Yagi-Uda Antenna Mounted on a Small Missile Warhead

In this study, the structure of a circular four-array antenna was designed for a monopulse radar attached to a conical small missile warhead with a diameter of 29 mm and a lateral length of 63 mm. A printed monopole Yagi-Uda antenna was adopted as the basic model for the antenna to decrease production cost and reduce weight. The director structure of the printed monopole Yagi-Uda antenna that we proposed was modified to λ/2 to improve the beam direction. Unlike the existing structure, the proposed director was made to be separated from the ground, so that it could act as a director. The antenna was expanded to a four-array structure for the detection of vertical and horizontal planes. As a result of the design, the S11 had excellent matching characteristics at the center frequency of 9.375 GHz, and the beam pattern also had directivity in the same direction as the missile travel direction. In the case of gain, it showed more than 6 dBi performance. Finally, the proposed four-array structure antenna was fabricated to verify that the S11 and radiation patterns were maintained.
Switchable Printed Yagi-Uda Antenna with Pattern Reconfiguration

A switchable Yagi-Uda antenna prototype with radiation pattern reconfiguration is presented in this letter. The proposed reconfigurable antenna is based on the concept of switching between the reflector and director of a Yagi-Uda antenna using a radio frequency PIN diode. As a result, the minimum/maximum radiation can be steered towards desired signals or away from interfering signals in opposite directions. The measured 10 dB impedance bandwidth and gain are 210 MHz (7%) and 8.02 dBi at 3 GHz, respectively. Details of the antenna design and its performance are described and empirically analyzed.

In this paper, a broadband cross Yagi-Uda antenna with dual polarization is proposed. The proposed antenna consists of reflector, director and a novel folded dipole feeder. After a single Yagi-Uda antenna is designed, a final design of the cross Yagi antenna is obtained by placing another Yagi in the orthogonal plane. The proposed cross Yagi-Uda antenna structure has dual-polarized directional radiation over a wide frequency and. The proposed antenna has reflection of less than -10dB and coupling between orthogonal polarizations of less than -20dB over 1.5-2.9GHz, and gain of 6.17dBi at 2.4GHz.

Antennas are base component in any electronic system that uses free space electromagnetic wave transmission for communications. However, antennas can have very difference configurations and characteristics, depending on the purpose for which they are used and the frequency band for which they are designed. This paper presents analysis and design for printed Yagi-Uda antennas on the dielectric substrate. For the miniaturization of the antennas, dielectric substrate (ε_(r)=4.6) and planar line structure are used. The proposed Yagi-Uda antennas are simulated using commercial simulator (HFSS). The results of the simulation are presented and compared with characteristics of each array type. Especial, the proposed antennas can be applied to the design of various communication systems for 2.4 GHz band.

본 논문에서 지하 매설물의 원격 관리에 적용이 가능한 2.45 ㎓의 지표면 매입형 인쇄형 야기 안테나를 제안하였다. 안테나의 방수 및 견고성을 위해 백크라이트로 안테나를 감싸는 구조로 제작하였다. 제작된 안테나는 2.15~2.52 ㎓ 대역에서 이득 10 ㏈i로 동작하며, 시뮬레이션 결과와 유사한 결과를 나타내었다. 개발된 안테나는 지하 매설물 원격 관리를 위해 활용이 될 것으로 기대된다. This paper proposes a printed yagi-antenna available at 2.45 ㎓, for the remote-management system of the underground equipment. To improve the solidity and waterproof property, the proposed antenna is coated with bakelite. The manufactured antenna is operated at 2.15~2.52 ㎓, whose gain measures 10 ㏈i. These results are a little different from those of the simulated antenna, but the trend is totally similar. Developed antenna is expected to be useful in the underground facility.

본 논문에서는 Quasi Yagi 효과를 갖는 다이폴 안테나와 CPS 구조의 공진기를 이용한 정류회로를 이용하여 5.8 GHz에서 무선전력 전송이 가능한 렉테나를 설계하였다. CPW 급전 구조를 이용하여 CPW의 접지 면을 다이폴의 반사기로 사용하여 야기 우다 안테나와 비슷한 구조로 기존의 다이폴 안테나보다 이득을 높이는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 또한 CPS 구조의 공진기를 이용하여 2차 고조파가 제거된 정류회로를 설계하였다. 그 결과 본 논문에서 제안한 렉테나는 부하저항이 1.4 $k{\Omega}$에서 61% 의 RF-to-DC Power 최대 변환 효율을 얻었다. In this paper, a new rectenna is presented for the wireless transmission of microwave power using dipole antenna (Quasi Yagi effect) and rectifier of CPS resonator structure. The dipole antenna with CPW feedline has high peak gain than a general dipole antenna. A ground plane of CPW is used to reflect a dipole as a Yagi antenna. Therefore, the new rectenna receives the RF power better than the one using general dipole. A RF-to-DC conversion efficiency of 61 % using a 1.4 $k{\Omega}$ load resistor is obtained at 5.8 GHz.

본 논문에서는 2 ㎽/㎠ 이하의 낮은 입력 전력 밀도에서 동작하는 2.45 ㎓ 렉테나를 제안하였다. 제안된 렉테나는 다이오드 2개를 사용하는 배전압 구조의 정류부와 다이오드에서 발생하는 2차 하모닉의 재 방사를 억압하기 위한 인쇄형 야기 안테나 구조를 사용하여 설계하였다. 인쇄형 야기 안테나는 2.45 ㎓에서 약 5 ㏈의 이득을 가지며, 안테나를 통해 입력된 전력이 0~14 ㏈m일 때 렉테나의 변환 효율은 32~42 %으로 측정되었다. 개발된 렉테나는 저전력 소자의 전원 공급에 활용될 것으로 기대된다. This paper presents a study on a rectenna for rectification of incident low power microwave signals with power densities less than 2 ㎽/㎠ at 2.45 ㎓. The proposed rectenna is designed and implemented by a rectifier with voltage doubler structure and a printed Yagi antenna which suppress re-radiation of the second order harmonic of fundamental frequency. The printed Yagi antenna has a gain of about 5 ㏈, and the measured conversion efficiencies of the rectenna are from 32 % to 42 % when its incident power levels are from 0 ㏈m to 14 ㏈m. The developed rectenna is expected to be useful in the power transmission system.
