A 8-bit Variable Gain Single-slope ADC for CMOS Image Sensor

A new 8-bit single-slope ADC using analog RAMP generator with digitally controllable dynamic range has been proposed and simulated for column level or per-pixel CMOS image sensor application. The conversion gain of ADC can he controlled easily by using frequency divider with digitally controllable diviber ratio, coarse/fine RAMP with class-AB op-amp, resistor strings, decoder, comparator, and etc. The chip area and power consumption can be decreased by simplified analog circuits and passive components. Proposed frequency divider has been implemented and verified with 0.65um, 2-poly, 2-metal standard CMOS process. And the functional verification has been simulated and accomplished in a 0.35$\mu$m standard CMOS process.

A solar cell of p-i-n type, containing hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) is simulated using the unidimensional computer code AMPS-1D. The objective of the present contribution is to investigate the eff ect of the thickness of the active layer a-Si:H(i) and the variation of its density of states (DOS) on the performances of the solar cell, namely the current of short circuit (JSC), the tension of open circuit (VOC ), the form factor (FF) and the efficiency (Eff). Also we aim to determine the structural parameters characterizing each layer constituting the cell. Our results show that the best thickness for the active layer that gives good performances of the studied solar cell lies between 300 and 600 nm. Besides, the best DOS that provides better output parameters of the solar cell is determined to be in the range 5.10 15 –10 16 cm −3 . After optimization, our fi ndings give values of Voc = 1.193 V, Jsc = 13.145 mA cm −2 , FF = 0.807 which corresponds to an effi ciency of E ff = 12.655%. The optimization has been done as a function of temperature and wavelength.

본 논문에서는 3D 방송의 기본적인 원리를 설명하고 실감영상 CS 기술을 적용하여 데이터 용량을 줄이는 방식을 제안한다. 샘플링이론과 CS 기술의 차이점을 설명하고 개념과 동작원리를 설명한다. 압축 센싱의 복원 알고리즘인 SS-CoSaMP(Single-Space Compressive Sampling Matched Pursuit) 와 AMP(Approximate Message Passing)를 소개하고 이를 이용하여 이미지 데이터를 압축 복원하여 비교한다. 계산시간을 비교하여 낮은 복잡도를 갖는 알고리즘을 판단한다. This paper describes the basic principles of 3D broadcast system and proposes new 3D broadcast technology that reduces the amount of data by applying CS(Compressed Sensing). Differences between Sampling theory and the CS technology concept was described. CS algorithm SS-CoSaMP(Single-Space Compressive Sampling Matched Pursuit) and AMP(Approximate Message Passing) was described. Image data compressed and restored by these algorithm was compared. Calculation time of the algorithm having a low complexity is determined.

The purpose of this study is to present the simulation results and an overview of the performance assessment of a solar heating & cooling system by means of the 200㎡ evacuated tube solar collector. The simulation was carried out using the thermal simulation code TRNSYS with new model of a single-effect LiBr/H₂O absorption chiller developed by this study. The calculation was performed for yearly long-term thermal performance and for two design factors: the solar hot water storage tank and the cold water storage tank. As a result, it was anticipated that the yearly mean system efficiency is 46.7% and the solar fraction for the heating, cooling and hot water supply are about 84.4 %, 41.7% and 72.4%, respectively.

Portable sheet resistance-measuring instrument using the dual-configuration Four-Point Probe method is developed for the purpose of precisely measuring the sheet resistance of conducting thin films. While single-configuration Four-Point Probe method has disadvantages of applying sample size, shape and thickness corrections for a probe spacing, the developed instrument has advantages of no such corrections, little edge effects and measuring simply and accurately the sheet resistance between 0.2 Ω/sq and 2 kΩ/sq..
지방중소도시에서 도시 공원의 역할 : 공원 특성과 단독주택 가격 간의 관계를 중심으로

The importance of urban parks has been well documented several decades. Green space can create an attractive, healthy, and vibrant places, and improve the quality of life for their citizens. In Korea, many previous studies also show that urban parks positively connected to housing values that indicate the utilities for green space. However most empirical studies conducted in Seoul or large metropolitan areas. In general, high density cities have not sufficient green areas around the residential areas, so the closed green and open spaces can increase housing values. However, there are lots of green spaces all around the small cities, so we hypothesize whether urban parks close to residential areas still have a positive impact on housing values in small- and medium-sized cities. Additionally, we assume that the impacts of urban parks around the residential area will be different for each high- and low-priced housing. This study applied hedonic price and quantile regression models with 38,097 samples (single-detached housing, 2006-2021) in 36 cities, larger than 50,000 but not Seoul Metropolitan Areas (SMAs), in Korea. The preliminary and key findings are as follows. The closeness to park is significantly and positively associated with housing value, and the effects are similar to previous results in high density cities. The distance to park elasticities of housing prices are about -0.046 and the elasticity of the lowest housing value is about -0.06, but the elasticities gradually decreased as housing price increases. In a city with a high green ratio, the positive effect of proximity to city parks on housing prices is offset by low-priced housing, but reinforced by high-priced housing. Urban park areas are negatively connected to housing value, but it is not statistically significant. Additionally, neighborhood park, children park and small park increases housing values rather than other types of park.

Background : The purpose of this study is to understand the effects of ankle joint taping on balancing abilities of the elderly and to provide preliminary data on preventing falls among the elderly. Methods : In this study, 20 students(8 male, 12 female) in their 20s from D University as well as 14 elderly(4 male, 10 female) in their 70s from S community center have participated. The participants were well informed about the experiment and voluntarily participated. We measured the difference in balancing ability before and after taping between the two groups using methods such as standing on single-leg stance, TUG, and plantar pressure. Kinesio taping, a stop-watch, and the EMED-system were used as equipment along with the SPSS 12.0 program, with a significance level of 0.05, to test the difference before and after taping between the two groups. Result : First, the 70s group showed a significant increase in the dorsal flexion angle after taping. Second, the 70s group showed a significant increase in duration time of standing on one foot after taping. Third, the 70s group's TUG time was significantly shorter. Fourth, the maximum peak value for static and dynamic plantar pressure showed a significant decrease after taping; and dynamic plantar pressure area value decreased as well within significant range. Conclusion : The study has shown that taping is effective on static dynamic balancing ability of the elderly.
A Study of SCEs and Analog FOMs in GS-DGMOSFET with Lateral Asymmetric Channel Doping

The design and analysis of analog circuit application on CMOS technology are a challenge in deep sub-micrometer process. This paper is a study on the performance value of Double Gate (DG) Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET) with Gate Stack and the channel engineering Single Halo (SH), Double Halo (DH). Four different structures have been analysed keeping channel length constant. The short channel parameters and different sub-threshold analog figures of merit (FOMs) are analysed. This work extensively provides the device structures which may be applicable for high speed switching and low power consumption application.
