        내면화된 수치심과 사회불안의 관계에서 자기제시동기, 자기제시기대 및 정서표현갈등의 매개효과: 대학생을 중심으로

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effects of self-presentation motivation, self-presentation expectancy, and ambivalence over emotional expressiveness on the relationship between internalized shame and social anxiety. A total of 427 college students completed The Internalized Shame Scale, Self-Presentation Motivation Scale, Self-Presentation Expectancy Scale, Ambivalence over Emotional Expressiveness Questionnaire, and Social Avoidance and Distress Scale. Baron and Kenny's method(1986) and Structural Equation Modeling were used for testing of each mediating effect. Because high self-presentation motivation and low self-presentation expectancy co-occur to trigger social anxiety, the difference in score between the two variables was analyzed as one mediator. The results showed both the difference between self-presentation motivation and self-presentation expectancy and ambivalence over emotional expressiveness had significant mediating effects. However, we modified the model because of unfitness of the previous suggesting model, which includes all mediators. This study found not only that the relationship between internalized shame and social anxiety was mediated in part by self-presentation motivation, self-presentation expectancy, and ambivalence over emotional expressiveness, but the conflict of self-presentation influenced ambivalence over emotional expressiveness.

        The Impact of Student Presentation Teaching on Medical Students’ Presentation Competence

        The Impact of Student Presentation Teachingon Medical Students’ Presentation Competence Sujin Chae** Abstract: The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of teaching students to present in medical schools in improving presentation competernce. The study involved 41 second year medical students. The students received presentation teaching, including post-presentation feedback from faculty and self-analysis via video recording, and then presented again one week later. The self-assessment was administered twice after the presentation. The self-assessment consisted of 15 questions in five areas: content, visual aids, verbal communication skills, non-verbal communication skills and audience interaction. The method of analysis was paired t-test, repeated measures ANOVA. The results showed that the post-self- assessment scores after presentation teaching were statistically significantly higher than the pre-self-assessment scores in all five areas. The most significant difference was found in the domain of non-verbal communication skills. This study is significant in that it validates the effectiveness of presentation teaching in medical schools. In the future, it is necessary to investigate different methods and teaching strategies that can improve the presentation skills of medical students.         스마트폰을 활용한 동영상 촬영과 자가평가 활동이 영어프레젠테이션 향상에 미치는 영향

        The present study investigated the effects of video recording using a smartphone and self-evaluation of an English presentation on the improvement of the presentation. For about 10 weeks, 24 participants delivered two English presentations about common knowledge terms. The first English presentation was video-recorded using the smartphones of both the presenter and the professor. The video-recorded file was assessed by the professor and also self-evaluated by the presenter based on 30 items covering the presentation’s content, structure, delivery, and PowerPoint slides. The same procedure was also carried out for the second English presentation. To examine the improvement between the first and second presentations, the participants’ self-evaluation data were compared using a paired samples t-test. The results showed that the means of the second presentation data were significantly higher on all 30 items than the means from the first presentation. Additionally, the results of an independent samples t-test showed no significant difference between the professor's assessment and self-evaluation. According to surveys, most participants responded positively to smartphone video recording and self-assessment activity. These findings suggest that video recording of a presentation using a smartphone and a self-evaluation process for a presentation seem to be useful activitiesy to improve a presentation.

      • Comparative Study of Young Consumers' Luxury Brand Attachments in Metropolises of Korea and China

        In this paper, a new insight is provided into analysis of Chinese and Korean luxury consumption by reflecting the difference between Chinese and Korean customers by using Structural Equation Model (SEM) and fsQCA models. The findings support the function theory of customers’ beliefs showing that Self-monitoring and Mianzi have positive impacts on the Self-presentation attitude. Self-presentation attitude have a positive impact on the luxury brand attachments. This study also compares estimated results between Korean and Chinese consumers. The findings show that the sense of Mianzi has a stronger impact of sense of Mianzi than Korea customers with respect to self-presentation attitude. Self-monitoring has stronger impacts on Korean customers than Chinese with respect to Self-presentation attitude. Mianzi has stronger impacts on Chinese customers than Korean customers with respect to luxury brand attachments. Self-presentation attitude has stronger impacts on Korean customers than Chinese customers with respect to luxury brand attachments. The different results can be found from the analysis of fsQCA. The lower self-monitoring can lead to higher self-presentation attitude in China. The impact of Self-presentation attitude with respect to luxury brand attachments in Korean customers is weaker than Chinese customers.

        #Looksperfectgram:The Relationship between Perfectionistic Self-Presentation, Self-Construal, Self-Efficacy and Intention to Use Instagram

        Instagram, a photo and image centered social networking service, has received increasing attention these days, from scholars and practitioners. However, little is known about the social and psychological factors that lead consumers to use this service. To provide a baseline understanding on Instagram users, the current study was conducted to discover perfectionistic self-presentation tendency expressed by the Instagram users and explore the relationships between identified perfectionistic self-presentation and intention to use Instagram variables with 250 participants. In addition, this study tried to determine the moderator effect of self-efficacy and self-construal. A comprehensive survey was directed and a total of 380 participants were recruited to verify anticipated hypotheses and research questions. The research results suggest that perfectionistic self-presentation has five sub factors: others conscious self-presentation, subjective self-presentation, environmental adaptation self-presentation, self-expansion self-presentation, and social self-presentation. The implications of this research findings are discussed.

        청소년의 완벽주의적 자기제시가 사회불안에 미치는 영향: 반추에 대한 자기자비의 조절된 매개효과

        This study aimed to examine whether self-compassion can moderate the mediating effect of rumination in the relationship between perfectionistic self-presentation and social anxiety in adolescents. Based on data of 426 high school students (218 males and 208 females), the mediation effect of rumination in the relationship between perfectionistic self-presentation and social anxiety, the moderating effect of self-compassion in the relationship between perfectionistic self-presentation and rumination, and the moderated mediation effect of self-compassion on the mediation effect of rumination in the relationship between perfectionistic self-presentation and social anxiety were examined. The results of this study were as follows: first, self-compassion of male students was significantly higher than that of female students; second, perfectionistic self-presentation, self-compassion, rumination, and social anxiety showed significant correlations in both male and female students, and these correlations were generally stronger in female students; third, rumination was partially mediated the relationship between perfectionistic self-presentation and social anxiety in both male and female students; fourth, the relationship between perfectionistic self-presentation and rumination was moderated by self-compassion, and this result was significant only in female students; fifth, the relationship between perfectionistic self-presentation and social anxiety was partially mediated by rumination, and the relationship between perfectionistic self-presentation and rumination was moderated by self-compassion. Therefore, the effect of moderated mediation was verified, and this result was significant only in female students. The results of this study suggest that different therapeutic interventions are required by gender for the social anxiety of people with a high tendency of perfectionistic self-presentation, and that the therapeutic use of self-compassion may be particularly effective for female adolescents. 본 연구에서는 자기자비라는 보호요인이 청소년의 완벽주의적 자기제시와 사회불안 간의 관계를 매개하는 반추의 효과를 조절할 수 있는지 밝히고자 하였다. 고등학생 426명(남자 218명, 여자 208명)의 완벽주의적 자기제시, 자기자비, 반추, 사회불안에 관한 자료들을 바탕으로 완벽주의적 자기제시와 사회불안의 관계에서 반추의 매개효과, 완벽주의적 자기제시와 반추의 관계에서 자기자비의 조절효과, 완벽주의적 자기제시와 사회불안의 관계에서 반추의 매개효과에 대한 자기자비의 조절된 매개효과를 검증하였으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 완벽주의적 자기제시, 자기자비, 반추, 사회불안에 대한 성차를 확인한 결과 남학생의 자기자비가 여학생의 자기자비보다 유의하게 높았다. 둘째, 완벽주의적 자기제시, 자기자비, 반추, 사회불안이 남학생과 여학생 모두에서 유의한 상관을 보였으며, 이러한 상관은 전반적으로 여학생에서 더 강하게 나타났다. 셋째, 매개효과 검증 결과 남학생과 여학생 모두에서 완벽주의적 자기제시와 사회불안의 관계를 반추가 부분매개하였다. 넷째, 완벽주의적 자기제시와 반추의 관계를 자기자비가 조절하였으며, 이러한 결과는 여학생에서만 유의했다. 다섯째, 조절된 매개효과 검증 결과 완벽주의적 자기제시와 사회불안의 관계를 반추가 부분 매개하며, 이 때 완벽주의적 자기제시와 반추의 관계를 자기자비가 조절하는 것으로 나타나 최종적으로 조절된 매개효과가 검증되었고, 이러한 결과는 여학생에서만 유의했다. 본 연구의 결과는 완벽주의적 자기제시 성향이 높은 사람들이 쉽게 경험하게 되는 사회불안에 대해 성별에 따라 서로 다른 치료적 개입이 필요하다는 것을 보여주며, 특히 여자 청소년은 사회불안에 대해 자기자비가 치료적으로 활용될 가능성을 시사한다.

        자기제시 기대와 자기초점 주의가사회불안에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 사회적 상황에서 자기제시 기대와 자기초점 주의가 사회불안에 미치는 영향에 대한 이원상호작용 가설을 세우고 실험을 통하여 검증하였다. 2(자기제시 기대 : 저/고) x 2(자기초점 주의 : 외부초점/내부초점)의 완전무선설계였으며 대학생 69명의 자료가 사용되었다. 자기초점은 외부초점과 내부초점으로 나누어 3분 동안 글을 작성하도록 하였고, 자기소개를 평가받을 것을 알려주고 6분간 준비하도록 하였다. 카메라가 설치된 컴퓨터로 자리를 옮긴 후 자기소개 도중 평가가 3회 나타남을 고지하였다. 발표 시 3회의 평가를 통해 자기제시 기대를 고, 저로 조작하였다. 두 번째 발표를 앞두고 사회적 공포 적도를 측정하여 사회불안을 측정하였다. 연구 결과 자기초점을 자신의 내부에 초점을 맞춘 집단은 자기제시 기대가 낮은 집단 보다 높은 집단이 사회불안이 유의하게 높았다. 반면 자기초점이 자신의 외부에 초점을 맞춘 집단은 자기제시 기대가 낮은 집단과 높은 집단사이에 차이가 유의하지 않았다. 이 결과를 토대로 본 연구의 시사점과 제한점 그리고 장래 연구 방향을 논의하였다. In this study, a main hypothesis regarding the influence of self-presentation expectancy and self-focused attention on social anxiety in a social context and proved it through an experiment. The experiment was perform in a completely randomized design method with categories of 2(self-presentation expectancy: low/high) x 2(self-focused attention: external focus/internal focus) structure and 69 university students participated in it. The participants were divided into two groups; a external focused group and a internal focused group. Each participants wrote an essay for 3 minutes. Then they had to prepare a self-introduction for 6 minutes. They were evaluated 3 times during the self introduction in front of a camera. Lastly, through the 3 evaluations, the participants received a low or high self-presentation expectancy. Before a second presentation, a level of the social fear was measured through social anxiety scale. According to the analysis, for the case of the internal focus group, those with high self-presentation expectancy had significantly more social anxiety than those with low self-presentation expectancy. However, for the case of the external focus group, there was no significant difference between those with high self-presentation expectancy and those with low self-presentation expectancy. Based on the results, the suggestions and limitations of future research were also discussed.

        완벽주의적 자기제시와 외로움의 관계: 자기비난과 자기침묵의 매개효과

        The purpose of this study was to examine serial multiple mediation effect of self-criticism and self-silencing on the relationship between perfectionistic self-presentation and loneliness. The current study predicted that the higher perfectionistic self-presentation, the higher self-criticism and self-silencing in serial, and it leads to experience loneliness. 376 students completed questionnaires about perfectionistic self-presentation, self-criticism, self-silencing, and loneliness. The main results of this study are as follows. First, correlational analyses revealed that the higher perfectionistic self-presentation, the higher level of self-criticism, self-silencing, loneliness, respectively. The higher level of self-criticism, the higher level of self-silencing, loneliness, respectively. Also, the higher self-silencing, the higher level of loneliness. Second, self-criticism and self-silencing mediates the relationship between perfectionistic self-presentation and loneliness, respectively. Third, the relationship between perfectionistic self-presentation and loneliness is mediated sequentially through both self-criticism and self-silencing. This results might mean that university students who are high tendency of perfectionistic self-presentation indicate highly self-criticism and suppress their thoughts and feelings in progression, eventually feel lonely. These results imply that need to consider self-criticism and self-silencing to reduce the loneliness of university students who are high level of perfectionistic self-presentation. 본 연구는 완벽주의적 자기제시와 외로움의 관계에서 자기비난과 자기침묵의 순차적 이중매개효과를 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 4년제 대학교에 재학 중인 376명의 대학생을 대상으로 한국판 완벽주의적 자기제시 척도(PSPS-K), 우울경험질문지(DEQ), 자기침묵 척도(STSS), UCLA 외로움 척도 3판을 사용하여 설문을 실시하였다. 먼저, 완벽주의적 자기제시와 자기비난, 자기침묵, 외로움 모두 각각 유의한 정적 상관을 보였다. 둘째, 완벽주의적 자기제시와 외로움의 관계에서 자기비난과 자기침묵의 각각의 매개효과가 유의하였다. 자기비난은 완벽주의적 자기제시와 외로움의 관계에서 매개효과를 보였으며, 자기침묵은 완벽주의적 자기제시와 외로움의 관계에서 매개효과를 보였다. 마지막으로, 완벽주의적 자기제시와 외로움의 관계에서 자기비난과 자기침묵이 순차적 이중매개효과를 보였다. 이는 완벽주의적 자기제시 성향이 높은 대학생들은 자신을 부정적으로 평가하는 자기비난을 보이며 이는 관계 속에서 자신을 드러내지 않으려는 자기침묵으로 나타나고, 결국 외로움으로 일어질 수 있음을 시사한다. 이를 바탕으로 본 연구의 한계점과 향후 연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.

        도움행동의 해석에 관한 연구

        Recent firm- and job- related trends which translate into flatter organizational structure and more complex and collective tasks have enhanced coworker`s salience and their potential influence. In this change, coworker`s interpersonal helping behaviors are considered as important factor to influence on fellow employee`s attitudes and behaviors. In general, it has been argued that coworker`s interpersonal helping behaviors positively affect fellow employee`s attitudes and behaviors. However, recent literatures suggest that, consequences of interpersonal helping behaviors will be different according as how the intention of helping behaviors is interpreted by rater. Moreover, helping behaviors significantly affect task performance rating because these behaviors are frequently emphasized as like in-role behaviors in organization. Therefore, why coworker`s helping behaviors are subjectively interpreted has to be investigated before we discuss about consequences of coworker`s interpersonal helping behaviors. Specifically, characteristics of help giver (actor) and receiver (rater) have to be considered simultaneously for understanding rating process of interpersonal helping behaviors in dyadic coworker relationship. The purposes of this study are to explain the cognitive process involved in rating of interpersonal helping behaviors and to demonstrate the influence of actor`s and rater`s trait on rating process concerning helping behaviors. We investigated moderate effects of two variables; ability to modify self-presentation as an actor`s trait and self-enhancement motives as a rater`s trait on the relationship between coworker`s helping behaviors and coworker`s OCB-I rated by fellow employee. Hypotheses are like these. H 1: Help giver`s ability to modify self-presentation will moderate the relationship between actor`s help giving and the extent of actor`s OCB-I rated by help receiver. That is, the positive slope will become smaller in graph when ability to self-presentation is high than when ability to self-presentation is low. H 2: Help receiver`s self-enhancement motives will moderate the relationship between actor`s help giving and the extent of actor`s OCB-I rated by help receiver. That is, the positive slope will become smaller in graph when self-enhancement motives is high than when self-enhancement motives is low. We conducted empirical test for examining hypotheses. Data were collected using questionnaires from 150 dyads of an employee and his/her coworker. As the result of the hierarchical regression analyses for OCB-I, the moderate effects of ability to modify self-presentation and self-enhancement motives on the relationship between coworker`s help giving and coworker`s OCB-I perceived by employee were significant respectively (ability to modify self-presentation: β=-.17, p<.05, self-enhancement motives: β=-.14, p<.05). Therefore, these results provided supports for Hypothesis 1, and 2. Our study demonstrated that coworker`s interpersonal helping behaviors were easily rated as OCB- I by raters when help giver was high in ability to modify self-presentation. This result provides important practical implication. Recently coworker`s supportive attitudes are emphasized as important factor to enhance organizational effectiveness. Therefore, coworker`s engaging in interpersonal helping behaviors are rated positively by fellow employees and positively influence on overall evaluation concerning actor. By the result of our study, however, helping behaviors of individuals high in ability to self-presentation have to be carefully evaluated in that individuals with high ability to self-presentation were better judged as compared with behaviors which they really engaged in. Our study proved that rater high in self-enhancement motives had a weak tendency to evaluate coworker`s helping behaviors as OCB-I. This result indicates that cognitive schema that rater brings to the evaluation process influences the rating of coworker`s interpers

        자기제시 기대, 자기초점 주의 및 사회불안 간의 관계: 완벽주의적 자기제시의 c매개효과

        The purpose of this study was to examine whether perfectionist self-presentation plays a role as a mediator between self-presentation expectancy, self-focused and social anxiety in social anxiety. The data of 200 university students were analyzed. Major findings of the study were the following. Incompleteness of perfectionist self-presentation Nondisplay of Imperfection had an indirect mediating effect between self-presentation expectancy, social anxiety, self-focused and social anxiety. And There was a moderation effect of self-focused attention on the self-presentation expectancy between social anxiety. Specifically, self-absorption had a moderating effect among sub-factors of self-focused attention. When self-absorption was low, social anxiety increased from high self-presentation expectancy to low condition, and even if self-absorption was high, social anxiety increased from high self-presentation expectancy to low condition. However, the slope increased more steeply when self-absorption was high. Finally, Based on these results, the implications, limitations, and directions for future research were discussed. 본 연구는 사회적 상황에서 자기제시 기대와 자기초점 주의 그리고 사회불안 사이에서 완벽주의적 자기제시가 매개의 역할을 하는지 검증하고자 하였다. 이에 대학생 200명의 자료를 분석하였다. 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 완벽주의적 자기제시의 하위요인 중 불완전함 은폐노력-행동적이 자기제시 기대와 사회불안, 자기초점 주의와 사회불안 사이에 부분매개효과를 가지고 있었다. 그리고 자기제시 기대와 사회불안 사이에 자기초점 주의의 조절효과가 있었다. 구체적으로 자기초점 주의의 하위요인 중 자기몰입이 조절효과가 있었는데, 자기몰입이 낮은 경우 자기제시 기대가 높은 조건에서 낮은 조건으로 갈수록 사회불안이 높아졌고, 자기몰입이 높은 경우에도 자기제기 기대가 높은 조건에서 낮은 조건으로 갈수록 사회불안이 높아졌다. 하지만 자기몰입이 높은 경우에 기울기가 더 가파르게 상승하였다. 마지막으로 결과를 토대로 본 연구의 시사점과 제한점 그리고 장래 연구 방향을 논의하였다.
