        한국의 현대호텔경영사에 관한 연구 1945년부터 ∼ 1999년까지

        The purpose of this study is to find out the historical trend and meanings of modern hotels(1945-1999) in history of Korea hotel. As a social phenomenon of specified time, historical approach for hotel management is to understand it by consideration through a historical trend. Hotel is influenced by the politics, economics, socio-culture. A method of study is a historical research using books, newspapers, articles. After Korea was liberated from Japanese colonial rule in 1945, Station hotels and modern hotel continuously played a very important role in the current hotel management and Korea tourism development. Modern hotels in korea have various socio-cultural meanings and landmark building in city. Hotels faced rapidly changing conditions for management owing to increasing competition and diversified demands of customer from 1945 to 1999. Hotel had a development in quantity and quality. This findings of historical study will contribute to the plans for the future policy in hotel management and the education of hotel history in university.

        호텔 엔터테인먼트 마케팅 기획모델 도출

        본 연구에서는 그 동안의 선행연구를 바탕으로 호텔식음료, 호텔식음료 엔터테인먼트의 개념을 명확히 하고, 그 유형을 제시하였다. 연구방법에서는 사례분석으로 신라호텔, 잠실 롯데호텔, 밀레니엄 힐튼호텔을 실시하였으며 기획모델 관련 자료조사와 연구자의 호텔 및 이벤트컨벤션 경력을 바탕으로 종합적인 호텔식음료 엔터테인먼트 기획모델을 도출하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 사례분석에서는 3개 호텔 모두가 자신의 특성을 가진 식음료와 엔터테인먼트를 결합하려는 시도가 있고 재미와 즐거움이라는 키워드를 실현하는 프로그램을 구성하였다. 신라호텔은 비즈니스호텔의 고급스러움을 표현하였고, 잠실 롯데호텔은 테마파크 이미지를 보유한 엔터테인먼트 접목을 보여 주었으며, 밀레니엄 힐튼호텔은 남산의 정취와 타켓 마케팅을 구사하였다. 둘째, 기획모델 도출에서는 총 10단계로 구성되었는데. 기획회의, 마스터플랜, 실행계획, 홍보계획, 스텝관리, 출연진관리, 조리계획, 세팅, 리허설 및 진행, 피드백 단계로 호텔의 식음료부서가 체계적인 절차에 따라 엔터테인먼트를 기획할 수 있는 근거가 마련되었다고 할 수 있다. 음식 중심의 프로모션에서 벗어나 직접적인 공연 요소를 도입하고, 마케팅과 관련된 여러 부서의 연석회의가 필요하며, 무대 시스템과 같은 최신의 장비구축 준비를 이해하는 계기가 되었다고 볼 수 있다. The purpose of this study is to establish the planning model of hotel food & beverage entertainment. This study investigated about hotel food & beverage entertainment and case analysis of food & beverage planning of five-star hotel(Shilla, Lotte, Hilton) in seoul. For achieving the purpose of this study, a literature research, survey and experience of researcher were conducted as study methods. The results of the practical analysis can be summarized as follows. First, Hotel food & beverage entertainment is not only manu entertainment of restaurant in hotel, but tool of contribution for hotel. Hotel food & beverage entertainment includes banquet event, special event, personal service and culture planning as art performance. Second, Hotel food & beverage entertainment has factor of package product and entertainment related to hotel food & beverage. Third, It is established planning model of hotel food & beverage entertainment which consist of ten steps from starting hotel annual planning. The planning model represents cooking function, meeting of corporation in hotel, management of performer and stage staffs, etc. That is process of detail planning which shows hotel character. On the other hand, this study had a limitation in possibility of subjectivity based on researcher"s experience, problem of generalization for hotel entertainment case study and lack of hotel entertainment planning studies.

        특1급 호텔과 특2급 호텔 간 호텔정보시스템 품질 비교

        The purpose of this study is to analyse the critical differences of the hotel information system's EDP(electronic data processing) internal control and quality between 1st 5star hotels and 2nd 5star hotels. This paper examines the relationships of the hotel information system's internal control and quality with that of user satisfactions. This study sets out the research model of influencing factors and the performance of the hotel information system through theoretical studies based on Management Information Systems, and then empirically tests hypotheses related to the model. The model was tested by multiple regression analysis using SPSS 10.0 on a sample of 618 respondents who have worked with the hotel information system in 5star hotels. The major results of this study are as follows: First, differences between 1st 5star hotels and 2nd 5star hotels are statistically significant influences on EDP internal control. Second, information quality, system quality and service quality of 1st 5star hotels are more statistically significant influences on the hotel information system's quality than that of 2nd 5star hotels. Third, EDP internal control has a statistically significant influence on the hotel information system's quality. The study's findings also indicate that EDP internal control of hotel information system affects differently on the quality of hotel information system according to grade of hotels.

        A Comparison Study of Guests' Hotel Selection Attributes Based on Hotel Characteristics

        기존의 호텔경영학 연구들은 이론적/경험적 접근법으로 고객들이 호텔을 선택하는 속성들을 도출해냈으며, 13개의 호텔선택 속성들이 널리 쓰이고 있다. 하지만 호텔산업은 고유한 특성을 가진 여러 가지 호텔들로 분류될 수 있고, 그 대표적인 분류중의 하나가 (1) 비즈니스 호텔, (2) 공항호텔, (3) 저가 호텔이다. 이들 호텔들은 각기 고유한 특성을 가지고 있고, 따라서 고객들의 호텔선택 속성에는 차이가 존재한다. 또한, 고객들의 성별, 나이, 그리고 소득에 따라서 호텔선택 속성은 달라진다. 기존의 연구들은 이러한 호텔의 특성 및 고객의 인구 통계학적 특성을 무시한채 13개의 호텔선택 속성을 다루어왔고, 이것이 선행연구의 한계점으로 지적되어 왔다. 따라서, 본 연구의 목적은: (1) 고객의 호텔선택 속성을 세가지 다른 호텔들을 비교하여 고찰하고, (2) 성별, 나이, 그리고 소득수준을 고려하였을 때, 고객의 호텔선택 속성에 차이가 있는지 검증하며, (3) 실제로 호텔들이 이러한 선택속성들을 얼마나 잘 충족시켜 고객들의 만족도를 이끌어내고 있는지, 그리고 마지막으로 (4), 고객 만족도가 실제 재방문에 유의한 영향을 미치는지를 IPA 분석기법을 중심으로 분석하려 한다. 본 연구를 위해 미국의 비즈니스 호텔, 공항호텔, 그리고 저가 호텔을 실제 방문한 투숙객으로부터 설문지가 배포되어 데이터가 수거되었다. 데이터 분석결과에 근거하여 효과적인 호텔경영을 위한 실무적 시사점들이 논의되었다. Previous hotel management research derived attributes for guests` hotel selection based on theoretical and empirical research. However, prior research has largely failed to recognize three discrete categories of hotels: the business hotel, airport hotel, and economy hotel. Each has distinct operational characteristics. Also understudied is the variance in hotel selection caused by gender and age. Due to these weaknesses in current hotel research, hotel owners and managers cannot apply findings to day-to-day management. Consequently, this project`s objectives were to: (1) examine guests` hotel selection attributes based on three distinct hotel segments (the business hotel, airport hotel, and economy hotel); (2) examine differences in selection attributes across gender and age, (3) examine how well the hotels satisfy consumer expectations across these attributes, and lastly (4) how the guests` satisfaction level actually related to revisit intentions. We applied IPA analysis after collecting data from guests staying at each of the three hotel types. The research reveals key implications for hotel management.

        테마호텔의 객실 디자인 특성에 관한 연구

        Themed hotels is a new form of hotel development that is rising at home and abroad. In the hospitality industry has a leading position. And The design of the themed hotel is different from tradition as hotel as it more innovative. People are attracted to themed hotel for its’ unique interior design especially the guest room. For the sake of promoting the themed hotel’s running better, guest room design characteristics can’t be neglected. Therefore, this paper will analyze the characteristics of the guest’s room design in the themed hotel. This paper initially narrates the concept, features and current situation, and then makes an analysis about the types of theme hotels in combination with examples. Secondly, through the thesis analysis of prior research, key words, hybridity, interactions, symbolic, diversity and regionalism about features of rooms in theme hotel are given. Finally, examples about theme hotels at home and abroad opened after 2005 are taken as the center, through which features of rooms in each theme hotel are analyzed. By the analysis of conclusion, basic current situation of rooms in theme hotels is given. The findings of this research will provide a reference to design the guest’s room of the themed hotel.

Its biggest feature is to give the hotel a theme, and around the theme construction has the difference of the hotel atmosphere and management system. People are attracted to themed hotel for its" unique interior design especially the guest room. Moreover, the guest room is not only a core part of themed hotel but also one of the primary considering factors when customer selecting a hotel. As an appealing and unique themed hotel can attract more customers. For the sake of promoting the themed hotel"s running better, guest room design characteristics can"t be neglected. However, from the current situation of the development of the themed hotel, there is less analysis related to the themed hotel"s guest room design. Therefore, this paper will analyze the characteristics of the guest"s room design in the themed hotel of both domestic and foreign themed hotels in recent year. The findings of this research will provide a reference to design the guest"s room of the themed hotel.

      • 특급호텔 객실 드레이프 커튼을 위한 텍스타일디자인 개발 연구

        오늘날 호텔들은 비즈니스 환경에서 살아남기 위한 성공적인 방법으로 호텔객실 디자인의 고품격화와 서비스의 품질 개선 등의 노력을 기울이고 있다. 이러한 흐름에 따라 본 연구는 국내 3대 특급호텔객실 드레이프 커튼용 텍스타일디자인을 개발·제시하여, 다양한 고품격 객실 공간연출과 차별화된 디자인 및 호텔 인테리어 텍스타일디자인과 관련 산업분야에 도움을 주고자함을 목적에 두고 있다. 연구의 방법 및 범위는 문헌자료와 인터넷자료를 바탕으로 특급호텔과 객실의 개념 및 분류, 드레이프 커튼디자인을 조사하였다. 또한 총매출액이 가장 높은 국내 3대 호텔인 롯데호텔서울과 쉐라톤그랜드워커힐, 그랜드하얏트를 선정하여 사례조사를 하였으며, 그래픽디자인 프로그램을 활용하여 국내 3대 특급호텔 객실등급별 드레이프 커튼용 텍스타일디자인을 개발하여 제시하였다. 그 결과 롯데호텔의 고풍스러우면서도 모던하고 위엄 있는 남성적 이미지, 쉐라톤그랜드워커힐의 고급스러우면서도 안락한 여성적 이미지와 친환경적인 호텔이미지, 그랜드하얏트서울의 세련되면서도 웅장하고, 품위 있는 이미지에 적합한 드레이프 커튼용 텍스타일디자인을 제안할 수 있었다. 따라서 본 연구결과가 호텔객실 인테리어용 텍스타일디자인 개발 방향 수립을 위한 기초자료로 활용되어지기를 기대한다. Modern hotels are making every effort to provide high-class design of hotel rooms and improve service as a successful way to survive in the business environment. In keeping with this trend, the purpose of this study is to contribute to producing a variety of high-class room spaces, differentiated designs, hotel interior textile designs and related industry by developing and presenting textile designs for drape curtains in rooms of three five-star hotels in South Korea. For study methods and ranges, we examined the concept and classification of five-star hotels and rooms, and drape curtain designs based on bibliographic data and internet data. Also, we selected and surveyed Lotte Hotel Seoul, Sheraton Grande Walkerhill Hotel and Grand Hyatt which are three major five-star hotels with the greatest total sales in South Korea and we developed and presented textile designs for drape curtains in each room class of three five-star hotels in South Korea by using a graphic design program. As a result, we could suggest textile designs for drape curtains suitable for antique, modern and majestic image of Lotte Hotel, luxurious, comfortable and feminine image and eco-friendly hotel image of Sheraton Grande Walkerhill Hotel and sophisticated, magnificent and elegant image of Grand Hyatt Hotel. There, we expect that the finding of this study will be used as basic data for establishing the direction of developing textile designs for interior decoration of hotel rooms.

        ‘조선호텔’ - 제국의 이상과 식민지 조선의 표상

        이 글은 1914년 영업을 시작한 ‘조선호텔’의 건축 과정과 운영 방식, 그리고 내지인 및 조선인에게 조선호텔이 어떻게 인식되었는지를 관련 자료 및 문학 작품을 중심으로 살펴보고 이를 통해 식민지 조선에서 조선호텔이 가진 장소성에 대해 고찰하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 조선호텔은 제국이 건설한 ‘철도호텔’의 하나였으며, ‘경성’에 위치했다는 점에서 우선은 상징성을 지닌다. 그리고 조선호텔은 이전에 볼 수 없었던 대규모 건축물로 조선 왕조가 제사를 지내던 ‘환구단’에 위치하였다. 또한 당시 호텔은 근대 문화를 보여주는 중요한 기제였고 이용객도 제한적이었으므로 조선호텔에 대한 장소성은 신분과 계층에 따라 다양하게 형성되었으며, 그것을 지배하는 주된 요소들 사이에는 제국과 식민지 조선이라는 상황이 가로놓여 있었다. 요컨대 조선호텔은 그 위치와 규모와 더불어 식민지 확장을 위해 건설되고, 식민지 지배를 위한 정책과 교착되어 각종 사업을 수행한 철도호텔이었다는 점에서 단순한 숙박시설을 넘어 제국과 식민지 조선의 현재를 보여주는 중요한 장소로서 기능했던 것이다. 그리고 이런 점들은 동시대인들의 인식에서 다양한 방식으로 재현되기도 하였다. This paper attempts to show Chosun Hotel's placeness in the colonial Korea. By analysing literary works and other related materials about Chosun Hotel, this article examines how Chosun Hotel was constructed, managed and recognized by the colonizer and the colonized. Chosun Hotel has symbolic meanings in that it was not only constructed as a Railroad Hotel by Imperial Japan but also located in the colonial capital city, Kyeongseong. It was a large-scale building that no one had ever seen before. Moreover, it was built near Hwangudan(Altar) where Chosun Dynasty had once performed sacrifices to Heaven. Chosun Hotel was also a pivotal mechanism showing modern culture to the colonized. Based on different positions in the social hierarchy, Chosun Hotel's placeness was variously produced in the situational relationship between Imperial Japan and Colonial Korea. In conclusion, with its site and size, Chosun Hotel was functioned as an important place showing the present situation between Japan's empire and colonial Korea, beyond just hotel facilities. It is not only because Chosun Hotel was constructed for the colonial expansion of Imperial japan, but because it carried out various colonial operations involved in Japan policy toward colonial Korea. Chosun Hotel was represented in various ways through contemporaries' perception.

        온라인 여행사(OTA)에 대한 호텔의 전략적 마케팅 대응방안 연구

        The purpose of this study is to understand the OTA status and transaction problems between hotel companies in detail. And through this analysis, it is intended to suggest a marketing plans for hotels to OTA. In 2012, large American OTA entered the market, and rapidly growing in a short period of time However, as the offensive of OTA intensified, the hotel industry was exposed to many problems and faced challenges in relation to OTA. First, the excessive fees that hotels pay to OTA. Therefore, while the increase in hotel reservations through OTA contributes to an increase in the room occupancy rate, the hotel profitability is inevitably deteriorating due to the rise in fees. Second, problems with OTA are not resolved smoothly in the process of cancellation and refund of customers who actually booked and paid for a hotel through OTA. There are many damages the image of a hotel that prioritizes customer service. As a marketing action, first, hotel are characterized by a high level of consumer involvement and a high number of repeat customers, so hotels can secure loyal customers through direct reservations and hotel membership. In addition, it is a way to increase profitability in the long term because it can be used for customized marketing or cross-selling by using the data of membership. Second, the BRG system, which guarantees that the hotel offers the lowest price for accommodation offered through its official website, is a system created to increase loyal customers who build long-term relationships by inducing reservations directly through the website.

        호텔 레스토랑 아웃소싱에 관한 연구: 심층인터뷰를 통한 질적 연구

        최근 국내 5성급 호텔의 레스토랑 아웃소싱이 활발해지고 있는데 반해 관련 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 레스토랑 아웃소싱과 관련한 네 가지 연구 과제를 설정하고 호텔 실무 전문가와의 심층인터뷰를 통한 탐색적 연구를 실시하였다. 인터뷰 내용 분석을 통해 외부 환경과 기업 내부 측면에서의 레스토랑 아웃소싱 배경, 아웃소싱 유형별 장점과 단점, 레스토랑 아웃소싱시 고려해야할 요소 그리고 향후 호텔 업계의 아웃소싱 트렌드가 파악되었다. 5성급 호텔의 레스토랑 아웃소싱의 이유는 독립 레스토랑 대비 경쟁 우위 상실, 수익성 악화와 트렌드를 주도하는 호텔 이미지를 단기간 내에 구축하고자 하는 호텔 기업의 전략적 선택으로 나타났다. 레스토랑 아웃소싱에 있어 임대방식은 고정수익의 확보와 적자 부담 탈피가, 프랜차이징의 경우 호텔 전체적인 브랜드 수준을 높이는데 강력한 마케팅 툴이 될 수 있는 것이 장점으로 나타났다. 그리고 임대방식은 서비스 퀄리티 유지 어려움이 프랜차이징 방식의 경우 사실상 호텔이 직접 운영한다는 점에서 비용 부담이라는 문제가 있었다. 아웃소싱 방식에 따라 각각 장점과 단점이 명확하고, 호텔마다 경영상 특성이 각기 다르므로 레스토랑아웃소싱에 있어 전략적 아웃소싱이 되기 위해서는 여러 가지 고려해야 할 점이 존재했다. 분석 결과를 토대로 호텔 기업은 레스토랑 아웃소싱 가능성을 늘 염두에 두어야 하며, 이를 위해서는 전략적 아웃소싱 관점에서의 접근이 필요하다는 실무적 시사점과 함께 국내 호텔 레스토랑 아웃소싱과 관련해 연구 범위의 확장이라는 이론적 시사점을 제시하였다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 한계점과 후속 연구방향을 제시하였다. Restaurant outsourcing of five-star hotels in Korea has recently become active, but related research is lacking. In this study, four research tasks related to restaurant outsourcing were established and an exploratory study was conducted through in-depth interviews with hotel practical experts. The analysis of interviews revealed the background of restaurant outsourcing in the external environment and in terms of the company, the advantages and disadvantages of each type of outsourcing, factors to consider when outsourcing restaurants, and future outsourcing trends in the hotel industry. The background of the five-star hotel's outsourcing of restaurants was the loss of competitive advantage over independent restaurants and worsening profitability. And it was a strategic choice of a hotel company to build a hotel image that is leading the trend in a short period of time. In outsourcing restaurants, the leasing has an advantage of securing fixed profits and avoiding the burden of deficits. In the case of franchising, it can be a strong marketing tool to raise the overall brand level of the hotel. And the it is difficult to maintain the quality of the service in the leasing and there in a disadvantage of cost burden in that the hotel was actually operated directly in the case of franchising. There were many considerations to be strategic outsourcing in restaurant outsourcing because the advantages and disadvantages are clear depending on the outsourcing method, and each hotel has different management characteristics. Hotel companies should always keep in mind the possibility of restaurant outsourcing, and to do so, they have practical implications that a strategic outsourcing perspective is needed, along with theoretical implications of expanding the range of research on domestic hotel restaurant outsourcing. Finally, the limitations and subsequent research directions of this study are presented.
