Backlash which severely limits the overall system performance is common in mechanical and hydraulic systems. In this paper, the development of an adaptive control scheme for systems with unknown backlash is presented. An adaptive backlash inverse based controller is applied to the plants that have an unknown backlash at its input. The harmful effects of backlash and the compensation of backlash by adding a discrete adaptive backlash inverse structure and the gradient type adaptive algorithm which provides the estimated backlash parameter are presented. The supposed adaptive backlash control algorithms are applied to the aircraft with unknown backlash in the actuator of control surfaces for demonstration. Simulation results show that the proposed compensation scheme is the way of improving the tracking performance of the systems with backlash.

Dynamic behavior of the spur gear system with time varying stiffness by gear positions in the backlash

Gear backlash is a nonlinear effect of the gear system. In a spur gear system with the backlash, the initial position of gears with the backlash affects the impact force. This work conducted a dynamic analysis of the spur gear system with time-varying mesh stiffness and bearing stiffness with a focus on the initial gear position within the backlash. For this purpose, the time-varying stiffness of the gears and rolling bearings were calculated. Mesh force with the time-varying stiffness and the gear backlash was applied to four DOF equations of motion. The equations of motion were solved using the Newmark beta method and NewtonRaphson method. The dynamic characteristics of the spur gear system by the initial position of gears within the backlash were investigated along with the magnitude of the backlash. The results showed that as the backlash increased, the mesh and bearing forces increased as well. The mesh and bearing forces were highly dependent on the initial gear position within the backlash. Significant initial mesh and bearing forces by the initial gear position within the backlash can lead to cumulative damages to the gear system.

본 논문은 일본의 우경화 정치에 따른 ‘젠더 백래시’ 담론 가운데 학교교육 현장의 사례내용을 중심으로 담론을 조사 분석하여 그 영향을 고찰하고자 하는 것이다. 본 연구는 젠더시점과 ‘젠더 백래시’ 문제의 관점으로 일본의 우경화를 지탱하는 우경화 정치와 교육과의 관련성을 밝혀내는 데 그 목적이 있다. 더 나아가 본 연구결과를 통하여 한일관계 및 한일양국의 젠더평등에 미치는 영향과 학술적 정책적 의미 즉 시사점을 알아보고자 한다. 1990년대 이후의 일본의 우경화와 함께 젠더 백래시 움직임도 진행되어 왔다. 일본사회의 젠더 백래시 현상과 백래시파의 주장과 논리는 보수사상의 내셔널리즘과 깊이 관련되어 있다. 특히 일본군‘위안부’에 관한 담론과 교과서 기술문제는 일본의 대표적인 백래시 사례 중의 하나이다. 이러한 문제는 일본의 정치 우경화가 그 배경에 있다. 그리고 그 구체적인 사건・사례 중에는 한일관계의 정치외교, 역사인식 문제와도 깊이 결부되어 있다. 특히 젊은이들의 의식과 태도를 형성시키는 요소로서 교육은 매우 중요하다. 본론 4장에서는 백래시파에 의한 교과서 공격의 사례로서 ①가정과교과서와 ②역사교과서의 일본군‘위안부’ 기술문제에 관한 담론과 그 영향에 대해 고찰하였다. The purpose of this study is to discover the relevance of the rightist politics and education that supports Japan’s rightward shift from the perspective of the Gender and ‘Gender Backlash’ issues. Furthermore, through this research, we are going to find out the impacts on the relationship between Korea and Japan and on the Gender equality between Korea and Japan, and the implications of the academical and the meaning of policy, namely the implications. Along with Japan’s rightward shift since the 1990s, the Gender backlash movement has also been underway. The Gender backlash phenomenon in Japanese society and the claims and logic of the Backlash faction are deeply related to the nationalism of conservative ideas. Especially‘Japanese military sexual slavery’discourse and Japanese textbooks description problem is one of the backlash cases. This problem lies in the background of Japan’s rightist politics. And among the specific affairs and cases, it is also deeply related to the political diplomacy and history recognition of Korea-Japan relations. Education is especially important as a factor that shapes the consciousness and attitude of young people. In chapter 4, It is considered the point ① home economics text books and ② ‘Japanese military sexual slavery’ of Japanese history textbooks in discourse and its impact on description issues, as an attack case of the textbook by Gender backlash faction.

영국의 다문화주의 반발에 관한 연구

The purpose of this paper is to examine the backlash against multiculturalism in Britain. It makes an analysis of the background and practice of the backlash and refers the discourses, activities and policies of the backlash from the end of the 1950s to the 2000s. The article also explains counterargument to the backlash and the possibility of change in relation to multiculturalism in Britain. The immigration of black migrants and muslim had influenced the formation of racism and demands to control immigration. The limitation of policy on immigration and continuation of racial equality policy by both the Labour and Conservative parties had deterred the proliferation of the backlash. After the 7/7 terror in London, the leftist and rightist parties reconsidered British multiculturalism and there was the growth of the backlash. Politicians in the Labour government and Commission for Racial Equality emphasized “integration policy” and “Britishness” on the basis of migrants’ conformity to “core value” in the UK. some Labour and Conservative politicians and researchers stressed that multiculturalism has brought about separatism in British society, but researchers like Giddens criticized the backlash and defended multiculturalism policy and practices. It will be that “integration policy” is implemented under the continuation of multicultural policy in mainly the local level. 본 논문은 영국의 다문화주의에 대한 반발을 역사적으로 고찰하고 있다. 반발의 형성 배경을 설명하고, 1950년대 말부터 2000년대까지의 다문화주의에 대한 반발의 담론, 활동, 정책 등의 실제를 분석하고 있다. 또한 반발에 대한 반론과 영국 다문화주의의 변화 가능성에 관해서도 언급하고 있다. 유색이민자와 무슬림의 대규모 영국이민이 진행되면서 이민자공동체가 형성되었다. 다문화주의에 대한 반발은 유색이민자의 이주와 다문화사회로의 전환에 대한 우려로부터 시작되었다. 초기의 반발은 다문화주의의 도입과 정착을 막을 수는 없었지만 영국정부가 일련의 이민제한정책을 수립하는데 기여했다. 한편 영국정부는 집권정당에 관계없이 인종평등정책을 기초로 한 다문화주의를 이민자통합의 원칙과 정책으로 제시했다. 다문화주의에 대한 반발은 이민제한과 인종평등 정책의 지속에 의해 전면화 되지 못했다. 2005년 런던버스테러 이후 좌파와 우파 정치세력 모두에서 다문화주의에 대한 비판이 제기되었다. 테러 이후 반발은 인종주의, 다문화주의의 문제점 제기, 다문화주의의 폐지, 다문화주의의 기초 위에 이민자의 순응을 강조하는 견해 등으로 다양하게 나타났다. 최근에는 반발의 영향으로 이민자의 영국의 “주요가치”의 수용을 강조하는 “통합정책”을 강조하는 방향으로 변화가 추진되어왔다. 다문화주의에 대한 반발에 비판을 제기하고 다문화주의를 옹호하는 반론도 제출되었다. 영국은 다문화주의의 핵심 내용을 지역차원에서 지속하면서 시민으로서의 통합을 강조하는 정책을 전개할 것이다.

학교 안 안티페미니스트 백래시 영향 요인: 남성성 규범, 능력주의 및 학교 성평등 문화를 중심으로

Focusing on the recent issue of anti-feminist backlash, this study tried to empirically identify the factors influencing anti-feminist backlash in middle and high school students, focusing on the masculinity norms, meritocracy, and school gender equality culture, and seek educational responses to anti-feminist backlash at school sites. As a result of the survey, male students had higher awareness of feminism and anti-feminist backlash than female students, high school students had higher gender separation classes than middle school students, and depending on the anti-feminist backlash was the highest. As a result of analyzing the structural equation of anti-feminist influencing factors, the higher the level of consent between meritocracy and masculinity norms, and the lower the level of gender equality culture in school, the higher the anti-feminist backlash. As a result of separately analyzing male and female students, female students were the same as the overall results, but in the case of male students, the degree of consent to masculinity norms had little effect on the perception of backlash against feminism. This can be seen as reflecting the reality that traditional masculinity norms are being replaced by meritocracy. Based on the results of this analysis, it was presented as an educational response to anti-feminist backlash in schools, active communication and discussion in the public sphere, and the dissolution of the combination of masculinity discourse and meritocracy.

Two-Sided Contact Mesh Stiffness and Transmission Error for a Type of Backlash-Compensated Conical Involute Gear Pair

Both the drive- and back-side contact mesh stiff nesses (two-sided contact mesh stiff ness) for a new type of conical involute gear (NTCIG) is developed analytically. Instead of the conventional spring preload anti-backlash method, an active control strategy to eliminate the time-varying backlash is presented by adjusting the axial displacement of the driven gear. The dynamic transmission error (DTE) of the gear pair is calculated under different load excitations to analyze the differences between the drive- and back-side meshes under a time-varying backlash with anti-backlash conditions based on the NTCIG model with an eccentricity error. Considering the additional rotational angle caused by the anti-backlash and the differences from the two-sided contact, the theory of no-load transmission error for the NTCIG is modified by agreeing considerably well with the low component of the DTE. Moreover, the DTE curve under varying load excitations showed that the dynamics of the NTCIG improved considerably after backlash compensation. The drive- and back-side tooth meshes were analyzed according to the DTE of NTCIG with backlash control under various external excitations at different speeds and variable initial phases, frequencies, and amplitudes of the sinusoidal load.
