Integrated Speed and Steering Control Driver Model for Vehicle–Driver Closed-Loop Simulation
Koh, Youngil,Her, Hyundong,Yi, Kyongsu,Kim, Kilsoo IEEE 2016 IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology VT Vol.65 No.6

This paper describes an integrated speed and steering control driver model for vehicle-driver closed-loop simulation at high-speed maneuvering. In numerous research studies, the performance of vehicle control systems is validated via closed-loop computer simulations due to safety, cost, and repeatability issues. A driver model for the analysis of interactions between vehicle systems and drivers is a significant part of the validation. In particular, in developing a chassis control system, limit-driving characteristics of the actual driver, which mainly affects the performance of the system, has to be taken into consideration. Thus, the proposed driver model is developed to realize the actual driver's driving pattern. A speed control part of the proposed driver model consists of two modules, i. e., the real-time velocity planner and the motion stabilizer. The former plans the desired velocity profile from curvature information on a preview desired path in real time. The latter, i. e., the motion stabilizer, is developed to cope with losing maneuverability through deceleration because there is an obvious limitation to securing stability with velocity profile planning only. On the other hand, a steering control part of the proposed driver model utilizes the yaw-rate gain-based selfadaptation algorithm. An actual driver drives a vehicle without an exact understanding of system dynamics, and the self-adaptation algorithm is adequate for this characteristic accordingly. The proposed driver model has been validated by comparison with an expert driver's driving data, collected on the Korea International Circuit in Yeongam, Korea.

Background Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is the most common type of adult leukemia in Western countries but is rare in the East Asian countries. Due to its rarity and the lack of feasible novel agents and laboratory prognostic tools, there are limited data on the clinical outcomes of this disease in Asia. To clarify the current treatment status, we performed a multicenter retrospective analysis of patients with CLL in Korea. Methods The medical records of 192 eligible patients between 2008 and 2019 were reviewed for clinical characteristics, treatment courses, and outcomes. The first-line treatment regimens of the patients included in this analysis were as follows: fludarabine/cyclophosphamide/ rituximab (FCR) (N=117, 52.7%), obinutuzumab plus chlorambucil (GC) (N=30, 13.5%), and chlorambucil monotherapy (N=24, 10.8%). Results The median progression-free survival (PFS) was 55.6 months, and the average 2-year PFS rate was 80.3%. PFS was not significantly different between the patients receiving FCR and those receiving GC; however, chlorambucil treatment was associated with significantly inferior PFS (P <0.001). The median overall survival was 136.3 months, and the average 5- and 10-year OS rates were 82.0% and 57.4%, respectively. Conclusion This is one of the largest studies involving Korean patients with CLL. Although the patients had been treated with less favored treatment regimens, the outcomes were not different from those reported in Western studies.

Background: Chemotherapy-refractory acute leukemia is only salvaged by allogeneic stem cell transplantation(ASCT). We intended to analyze clinical outcome of patients with acute leukemia who received ASCT in chemo-refractory state. With this analysis, we tried to find subset who could be salvaged by ASCT. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed patients who received ASCT for chemo-refractory acute leukemia. We included patients who received ASCT while the disease was not in complete remission. Results: A total of 226 patients were analyzed. Disease included acute myeloid leukemia (AML, N=156), acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL, N=52), and acute biphenotypic leukemia (ABL, N=18). Proportion of secondary leukemia was 15.9%. 41.6% of patients were primary chemo-refractory, while 58.4% of patients developed chemo-refractoriness after achievement of CR at least once. CR was achieved in 79.6% of patients by ASCT. CR rate seemed to be higher in AML (84%) compared to ALL (71%) or ABL (67%) (p=0.058). OS was significantly superior in patients with AML or ABL compared to ALL (p=0.020). Five-years OS rate was more than 20% in patients with AML or ABL, while 5-years OS rate was less than 5% in patients with ALL. Patients who received sibling ASCT had better survival outcome compared to unrelated ASCT or haploidentical ASCT (p<0.001). Primary chemo-refractoriness (p=0.284) and conditioning intensity (p=0.404) did not affect survival outcome. Karyotypic risk grouping had prognostic value in these patients with shorter OS observed in patients with poor risk group compared to standard or good risk group (p=0.006). Conclusions: Among acute leukemias, only AML and ABL are salvaged by ASCT when they are chemo-refractory. However, outcome of primary chemo-refractory disease is not inferior, hence ASCT should be considered in this disease. For ASCT in chemo-refractory acute leukemia, sibling ASCT has better outcome than unrelated ASCT.

Despite the fact that the optimal design for nonlinear model depends on the unknown quantity of parameter to estimate basically, its popularity is growing in bio and engineering statistics area since all those models in the area are virtually nonlinear. In this paper we have dealt with the case when the researcher has multiple objectives in experimentation, decision among the competing models, protection against the departure from the assumed model, and the con icting interests among design criteria. To tackle these issues we attempted several new approaches which are taking advantage of the easiness of constrained optimal design. Several nonlinear models were tested.

This paper describes an integrated chassis control (ICC) algorithm of differential braking, front/rear traction torque, and active roll moment control. The integrated control algorithm is designed to maximize driving velocity and enhance vehicle lateral stability in cornering. The target longitudinal acceleration is determined based on the driver's intention and vehicle current status to ensure vehicle lateral stability in high-speed maneuvering. An optimization-based control allocation strategy is used to distribute the actuator control inputs optimally under consideration of tire and vehicle limitations. Closed-loop simulations of a driver-vehicle-controller system were conducted to investigate the performance of the proposed control algorithm. The performance of the ICC has been compared with those of individual chassis control systems, such as electronic stability control, four-wheel drive (4WD), and active roll control system. The simulation results show that the proposed ICC algorithm improves the performance in high-speed cornering with respect to driving speed without losing stability, compared with individual chassis control systems.
