Myristicin은 육두구에서 발견되는 고농축 정유 중 하나인 물질이다. 하지만 Th1/Th2 면역반응에서 육두구의 항알레르기 효과는 아직 밝혀지지 않았다. 최근에 Th1/Th2 전사인자로서 T-bet, GATA-3가 밝혀졌는데 이번 실험에서 myristicin이 ovalbumin(OVA)으로 유도한 천식(asthma) 생쥐모델에서 Th1,Th2 싸이토카인과 유전자 발현을 조절할 수 있는가에 대하여 알아보았다. 또한 기관지 폐포 세척액을 회수하여 백혈구의 수적 변화, 제2형 협조T세포(Th2 cell)가 생산하는 IL-4, IL-5의 생산에 미치는 영향과 폐조직에서 matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-9 활성을 측정하였다. 그 결과 기관지 폐포 세척액에서 OVA로 감작하여 천식을 유도한 실험군에서는 호산구의 현저한 증가, Th2 형 싸이토카인(IL-4, IL-5)의 증가가 관찰되었다. 그러나 myristicin을 투여한 그룹에서는 OVA의 감작에 의하여 증가한 각종 염증성 지표들이 감소하거나 정상화 되었다. 또한 OVA에 의하여 증가된 기도저항성이 myristicin 투여에 의하여 감소하였으며 폐조직의 염증성 소견도 뚜렷하게 감소되었다. 이와 같은 연구 결과는 myristicin이 천식의 치료에 유용하게 쓰일 수 있음을 시사해준다. Myristicin, l-allyl-3,4-methylenedioxy-5-methoxybenzene, was one of the major essential oils of nutmeg. However, its anti-allergic effect in the Th1/Th2 immune response was poorly understood. Recently, it was shown that T-bet and GATA-3 was master Th1 and Th2 regulatory transcription factors. In this study, we have attempted to determine whether myristicin regulates Th1/Th2 cytokine production, T-bet and GATA-3 gene expression in ovalbumin (OVA)-induced asthma model mice. Myristicin reduced levels of IL-4, Th2 cytokine production in OVA-sensitized and challenged mice. In the other side, it increased $IFN-{\gamma}$, Th1 cytokine production in myristicin administrated mice. We also examined to ascertain whether myristicin could influence eosinophil peroxidase (EPO) activity. After being sensitized and challenged with ovalbumin (OVA) showed typical asthmatic reactions. These reactions included an increase in the number of eosinophils in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid, an increase in inflammatory cell infiltration into the lung tissue around blood vessels and airways, and the development of airway hyper-responsiveness (AHR). The administration of myristicin before the last airway OVA challenge resulted in a significant inhibition of all asthmatic reactions. Accordingly, these findings provide new insight into the immunopharmacological role of myristicin in terms of its effects in a murine model of asthma.

The common word flavonoids is often used to classify a family of natural compounds, highly abundant in all higher plants, that have received significant therapeutic interest in recent years. Naringin is associated with a reduced risk of heart disease, neurodegenerative disease, cancer and other chronic diseases; however the molecular basis of this effect remains to be elucidated. Thus we attempted to elucidate the anti-allergic effect of Naringin in ovalbumin (OVA)-induced asthma model mice. The OVA-induced mice showed allergic reactions in the airways. These included an increase in the number of eosinophils in bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid, an increase in inflammatory cell infiltration into the lung around blood vessels and airways, airway luminal narrowing, and the development of airway hyper-responsiveness (AHR). The administration of Naringin before the last airway OVA challenge resulted in a significant inhibition of all asthmatic reactions. Accordingly, this study may provide evidence that Naringin plays a critical role in the amelioration of the pathogenetic process of asthma in mice. These findings provide new insight into the immunopharmacological role of Naringin in terms of its effects on asthma in mice.
2016년도 국내 해양환경내 병원성 비브리오균의 분포 및 해양환경인자간의 상관성 분석

Objectives: The pathogenic Vibrios genus denotes halophilic bacteria that are distributed in aquatic environments, including both sea and freshwater. Vibrio cholerae, Vibrio vulnificus, and Vibrio parahaemolyticus are the most important species since they can be potent human pathogens and leading causes of septicemia, wound infections, and seafood borne gastroenteritis. The recent emergence of a potential pandemic clone, V. cholera serotype O1 and the cholera outbreak in South Korea in 2016 indicates the importance of consistent surveillance of pathogenic Vibrio genus within coastal areas. Methods: The present study was undertaken to determine where and how vibrios live in the aquatic environment adjacent to coastal areas of South Korea. For this survey, a total of 838 samples were obtained at 35 different sites in South Korean coastal areas during the period from January 2016 to December 2016. Pathogenic vibrios was determined using the real-time PCR method, and its clones were isolated using three selective plating media. We also monitored changes in seawater and atmospheric temperature, salinity, turbidity, and hydrogen ion concentration at the collection points. Results: The total isolation rates of V. vulnificus, V. cholera (non-pathogenic, non-O1, non-O139 serogroups), and V. parahaemolyticus from seawater specimens in 2016 were 14.2, 13.48, and 67.06%, respectively. Conclusions: The isolation rates of pathogenic vibrios genus showed a positive correlation with temperature of seawater and atmosphere but were negatively correlated with salinity and turbidity.

Purpose: Surgical site infection (SSI) is the most common nosocomial infection in surgical patients, and this accounts for 38% of all patients with nosocomial infections. Despite the advances in techniques and knowledge to prevent infection, SSI remains a significant source of postoperative morbidity and mortality, and it results in a prolonged hospital stay and increased cost. This study aims to assess the incidence of SSI and to identify the risk factors associated with SSI for patients who undergo abdominal operation. Methods: The data on 347 abdominal operations that were done under general anesthesia from 1 August 2005 to 31 July 2006 was collected and reviewed. Results: The overall incidence of SSI was 4.9%. Comorbidity was the independent risk factor for the development of SSI (P=0.011). The development of SSI was related with the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) preoperative assessment score (P=0.025). The duration of the operation had a statistically significant association with an increased risk of SSI on univariate analysis. The wound classification was not associated with SSI. Staphylococcus aureus was the most frequently isolated organism, and all of the cases were methcillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Conclusion: This study demonstrate that comorbidity is a significant independent risk factor for SSI.

The existing Criminal Act was enacted during the Korean War in 1953 The regulation of crimes concerning foreign aggression was originated from a draft of the revision of the Japanese Criminal Act in 1940 so that both regulations had almost same legar elements and legal punishment The draft of the revision of the Japanese Criminal Act was enacted under influence of the German Nazi Criminal Act to have characteristics of militarism as well as totalitarianism and to punish a threat against the government system strictly Since enactment of the Criminal Act, as many as 50 years has elapsed to make great change of politics as well as economy These days, the world has become free from ideological confrontation to let each country maximize its own profits and benefits, and external threat against countries has overcome level of 'armed provocation' triggered by 'enemy country' to be either 'threat not by enemy country but by foreign countries' or 'outflow of national wealth' from point of view of actual profit In particular, a variety of legal and systematic tools for national safety under special situation of confrontation between both Koreas were made to conflict with the crimes concerning foreign aggression of the Criminal Act At the moment, the concept of national security and espionage is needed to make change and to be flexible enough to meet the realities With the problem awareness, the study critically investigated requirements of the espionage that was important area of foreign exchange related crimes of the Criminal Act from point of view of comparison law to interpret and apply laws harmoniously between national security related law systems such as the National Security Act and the Criminal Act and to suggest legislative alternative that could help national security In particular, to reform existing law, the study introduced not only 1992 draft of the revision of the Criminal Act suggested by Special Committee of the Revision of the Criminal Act organized in 1987 but also 2009 draft of joint revision of both the Korean Criminal Law Association and the Korean Association of Criminology and considered the drafts as much as possible from point of view of legislation
