M. S. WANG,N. T. JEONG,K. S. KIM,S. B. CHOI,S. M. YANG,S. H. YOU,J. H. LEE,서명원 한국자동차공학회 2016 International journal of automotive technology Vol.17 No.1
Drowsy behavior is more likely to occur in sleep-deprived drivers. Individuals’ drowsy behavior detection technology should be developed to prevent drowsiness related crashes. Driving information such as acceleration, steering angle and velocity, and physiological signals of drivers such as electroencephalogram (EEG), and eye tracking are adopted in present drowsy behavior detection technologies. However, it is difficult to measure physiological signal, and eye tracking requires complex experiment equipment. As a result, driving information is adopted for drowsy driving detection. In order to achieve this purpose, driving experiment is performed for obtaining driving information through driving simulator. Moreover, this paper investigates effects of using different input parameter combinations, which is consisted of lateral acceleration, longitudinal acceleration, and steering angles with different time window sizes (i.e. 4 s, 10 s, 20 s, 30 s, 60 s), on drowsy driving detection using random forest algorithm. 20 s-size datasets using parameter combination of accelerations in lateral and longitudinal directions, compared to the other combination cases of driving information such as steering angles combined with lateral and longitudinal acceleration, steering angles only, longitudinal acceleration only, and lateral acceleration only, is considered the most effective information for drivers’ drowsy behavior detection. Moreover, comparing to ANN algorithm, RF algorithm performs better on processing complex input data for drowsy behavior detection. The results, which reveal high accuracy 84.8 % on drowsy driving behavior detection, can be applied on condition of operating real vehicles.

Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) is the cause of an economically devastating animal disease. With commercial inactivated FMD vaccines, the protection against FMD virus (FMDV) begins a minimum of 4 days post vaccination (dpv). Therefore, antiviral agents could be proposed for rapid protection and to reduce the spread of FMDV during outbreaks until vaccine-induced protective immunity occurs. In previous studies, we have developed two recombinant adenoviruses that simultaneously express porcine interferon-alpha and interferon-gamma (Ad-porcine IFN-alpha gamma) and multiple siRNAs that target the non-structural protein regions of FMDV (Ad-3siRNA), and we have shown that the combination of the two antiviral agents (referred to here as Ad combination) induced robust protection against FMDV in pigs. In an attempt to provide complete protection against FMDV, we co-administered Ad combination and the FMD vaccine to mice and pigs. In the C57BL/6 mice model, we observed rapid and continuous protection against homologous FMDV challenge from 1 to 3 dpv the period in which vaccine-mediated immunity is absent. In the pig experiments, we found that most of the pigs (five out of six) that received vaccine + Ad combination and were challenged with FMDV at 1 or 2 dpv were clinically protected from FMDV. In addition, most of the pigs that received vaccine + Ad combination and all pigs inoculated with the vaccine only were clinically protected from an FMDV challenge at 7 dpv. We believe that the antiviral agent ensures early protection from FMDV, and the vaccine participates in protection after 7 dpv. Therefore, we can say that the combination of the FMD vaccine and effective antiviral agents may offer both fast-acting and continuous protection against FMDV. In further studies, we plan to design coad-ministration of Ad combination and novel vaccines. (C) 2017 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Cytological examination of peripheral white blood cells inhomogeneously distributed on a blood smear is currently limited by the low abundance and random sampling of the target cells. To address the challenges, we present a new approach to prepare and analyze concentrated blood smears by rapidly enriching white blood cells up to 32-fold with 92% recovery on average at a high throughput (1 mL/min) using a deterministic migration-based separator and by systematically analyzing a large number of the cells distributed over a blood slide using a microfabricated grid film. We anticipate that our approach will improve the clinical utility of blood smear tests, while offering the capability to detect rare cell populations. (C) 2017 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Co-Fe-Ni-B-Si-Cr based amorphous strips containing nitrogen were manufactured via melt spinning, and then devitrified by crystallization treatment at the various annealing temperatures of $300^{\circ}C{\sim}540^{\circ}C$ for up to 30 minutes in an inert gas $(N_2)$ atmosphere. The microstructures were examined by using XRD and TEM and the magnetic properties were measured by using VSM and B-H meter. Among the alloys, the amorphous ribbons of $Co_{72.6}Fe_{9.8}Ni_{5.5}B_{2.4}Si_{7.1}Cr_{2.6}$ containing 121 ppm of nitrogen showed relatively high saturation magnetization. The alloy ribbons crystallized at $540^{\circ}C$ showed that the grain size of $Co_{72.6}Fe_{9.8}Ni_{5.5}B_{2.4}Si_{7.1}Cr_{2.6}$ alloy containing 121 ppm of nitrogen was about f nm, which exhibited paramagnetic behavior. The formation of nano-grain structure was attributed to the finely dispersed Fe4N particles and the solid-solutionized nitrogen atoms in the matrix. Accordingly, it can be concluded that the nano-grain structure of 5nm in size could reduce the core loss within the normally applied magnetic field of 300A/m at 10kHz.

Proper understanding of spin dynamics in the magnetic multilayer system is a necessary step for the fabrication of practical magnetic devices. In the present study, spin dynamics in the [Co/Ni](N)/Ti multi-layers at various Co and Ni layer thicknesses were obtained by optical method with the aim to identify the structural effects on the Gilbert damping constant of the multilayer system. It was found that the change of crystallinity and magnetocrystalline anisotropy depending on the relative thicknesses ratio of Co and Ni layers work as the main factor to determine the Gilbert damping behavior. health promotion behavior of middle aged men and the relationship among the above factors. Methods: Subjects of the research were 325 middle aged men in Korea. The questionnaires were composed of general characteristics, Health Self Rating Scale, FACES-Ⅲ : Family Adaptability & Cohesion Evaluation Scale Ⅲ, Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile. Data were statistically analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test and Pearson’s correlation. Results: Middle aged men whose perceived economic status are low show lower perceived health status than moderate and high (F=3.364, p=.010). Health promotion behavior in the age 40-44 shows lower level than 60-64 (F=2.984, p=.019). Middle aged men who have Economically dependent adult in the first child show higher level in health promotion behavior than who have Middle & High school student in the first child (F=2.468, p=.045). In the middle aged men, perceived health status and family cohesion show positive correlation (r=.341, p<.01). Perceived health status and health promotion behavior show positive correlation (r=.500, p<.01). Family cohesion and health promotion behavior show posotive correlation (r=.564, p<.01). Conclusions: We analyzed influencing factor and a relationship between perceived health status, family cohesion and health promotion behavior. Accordingly, we can think of applying nursing interventions to the middle aged men considering the general characteristics. Also we can think of applying nursing interventions and educations to help them evaluate their perceived health status and include the support of family members for the health promotion behavior.
Sulfur to oxygen substitution in BiOCuSe and its effect on the thermoelectric properties
Han, M. K.,Jin, Y. S.,Yu, B.,Choi, W.,You, T. S.,Kim, S. J. Royal Society of Chemistry 2016 Journal of Materials Chemistry A Vol.4 No.36

The effects of S doping at the oxygen site on the thermoelectric properties of BiOCuSe have been investigated. The partial substitution of S ions at the O sites of BiOCuSe was achieved by sulfurization using CS2 gas. Analysis of the powder X-ray diffraction data indicates that the ZrCuSiAs structure of BiOCuSe is retained after sulfurization. Substitution of O with S leads to an increase in the lattice parameters and a decrease in the band gap. The electrical conductivity rises due to the increase of the electronic contribution with doping. S-doped BiOCuSe materials behave as a p-type semiconductor. The thermoelectric properties of S-doped BiOCuSe materials can be understood through the analysis of the electronic band structure and the density of states close to the Fermi level. The substitution of O sites with S provides possible directions toward the enhancement of the thermoelectric figure of merit of oxide materials with low electrical conductivity.
