Recently, the interest in technologies for a highly efficient powertrain, i.e. a variable displacement engine or a light weight car body, to improve the fuel efficiency of automobile saving the environment has been increased. However this trend deteriorates NVH performance of a vehicle and the use of a conventional engine mounting system becomes unsatisfactory. In order to solve this dilemma, an active engine mounting system that could isolate or cancel out vibrations occurred at the powertrain was suggested. In this paper, In order to optimize the electromagnetic active engine mount performance, the actuator of the engine mount through FEM analysis and optimal design, noise and elastomer testing of the prototype through the optimal design of actuators for the electromagnetic active engine mount on the impact of the performance improvement is verified.
Retinoic acid가 흰쥐 구개간엽의 분화에 미치는 영향

In this experiment, pregnant Sprague-Dawley rats were treated with 100mg/kg of all-trans retinoic acid at 10th day of gestation. Pregnant rats were sacrificed at gestation day 14, 15, 16 and 18. Fetuses were delivered, and palatal processes were dissected. The specimens were prepared with fibronectin immunohistochemical stain, and mesenchymal changes were observed with electron microscope. The results were as follows. 1. In the findings fo fibronectin immunohistochemial stain, a part of the mesenchyme of the palatine process of the control group showed weak positive reaction at 14th gestation day, and the reactivity increased progressively by each day. In retinoic acid treated group, the positive reaction was trace at 14th day of gestation, and the reactivity increased progressively, but it was weaker than that of the control group. 2. Examination under transmission electron microscopy revealed well-developed rough endoplasmic reticulum, Goigi apparatus, mitochondrias which were found at the palatine process of the control group. In the retinoic acid treated group, at 16th and 18th day of gestation, the mesenchymal cells of the elevated palatine process had fragmented, sacculated rough endoplasmic reticulums, their mitochondrias were swollen and dissolved, In all cases with retinoic acid treated group, mitotic cells at various stages were more frequently found than in control group. In conclusion, the retinoic acid induces alterations of the intracytoplasmic organells. This finding suggests that retinoic acid is ditectly cytotoxic to mesenchymal cells. Positive fibronectin reaction was demonstrated before palatal elevation at th 15th day of gestation. Therefore, it could be postulated that mesenchymal cells synthesize and release the fibronectin. In the retinoic acid treated group, fibronectin showed positive reaction before and after palatal elevation, and it suggests that fibronectin would be involved in palatal elevation.
Complete denture rehabilitation of a patient with anodontia from ectodermal dysplasia: A case report

Ectodermal dysplasia is a condition in which two or more ectodermal origins fail to develop. X-linked hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia, the most common form of this disorder, is characterized by a triad of signs: hypohidrosis, hypotrichosis, and hypodontia. Dental management of these patients is necessary not only for their functional and esthetic needs, but for social rehabilitation. This report shows a case of a patient with anodontia from ectodermal dysplasia, treated with maxillary and mandibular complete dentures. The overall process of fabricating dentures followed that for edentulous elderly patients. Each step is challenging both for the patient and the clinician. Children usually cannot endure certain procedures such as impression taking. Teeth selection and denture retention are another consideration for clinicians, since jaws are continuously growing and developing in children. In this case, both the patient and his parents reported satisfaction after rehabilitation, and short term follow up results show good stability and retention in both dentures.
HDTV에 적합한 한글 타이포그래피 가이드라인 제안 : 대한민국 거실 크기를 중심으로

텔레비전 시장이 HD 급으로 빠르게 변화하고 있다. 그러나 HDTV 에 적합한 한글 타이포그래피 가이드라인은 없는 실정이다. 본 논문은 HDTV 에서 가독성을 향상 시키기 위한 한글 서체, 글자크기, 글자 배경의 투명도에 대한 가이드라인을 제안한다. 가독성을 측정하기 위해 객관적 측정은 읽기 속도를 주관적 척도로는 선호도를 사용하였다. 실험 결과 HDTV 상에서 사용자는 기존의 SD 방송용 서체보다 획이 가는 서체를 선호하였으며 읽기속도 또한 높았다. 본문용 글자크기는 SD 급에서 사용하던 글자 크기보다 HDTV 에서는 작은 것이 더 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 글자가 표현될 배경의 투명도 실험에서는 배경과 대비를 40%로 유지한다면 가독성은 일정하게 유지되는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 선호도에서는 40% 정도의 투명도에서 뚜렷한 선호를 나타냈다. Television market is rapidly changing into HDTV according to increase in the programs transmitted in HD, However, there is no guideline of Korean typography which is suitable for HD display. Here we provide a guideline on Korean font style, its size and transparency to acquire high readability on HD screen. The readability was assessed with two different criteria! reading speed as an objective index and preference ranking as a subjective index. In the results, the participants tend to prefer and read faster slim fonts on HD display when compared to the bold type commonly used on SD display. To the font size, smaller one was preferred on HDTV than that displayed on SDTV, To the transparency, users revealed strong preference on 40% transparency although it did not affect the reading speed when the contrast between text and background was fixed on 40%. But clearly, preference on 40% transparency.
압전 센서를 이용한 막 완결성 시험을 위한 전기-역학적 임피던스 기반 압력 감쇠 측정

막 여과는 막을 통해 물을 통과시켜 수중의 오염 물질이나 불순물을 제거하는 기술이며 고도수처리 및 하수 처리와 같은 다양한 분야에서 사용된다. 하지만, 우발적인 수질 오염이나 막 손상의 경우에는 대응하기 어렵다는 단점이 있다. 따라서 여과 과정을 거친 후 식수의 오염을 막기 위해 막의 손상을 모니터링 해야 한다. 본 연구에서는, 압전 센서를 사용하여 고주파 기반 전기역학적 임피던스(EMI)를 측정하여 막 완결성 시험을 수행하였다. 외부 배관에 부착된 압전 센서는 배관 내부 압력 변화로 인한 막의 물리적 특성의 변화를 검출 할 수 있다. 압력 감쇠 시험을 진행하는 동안, 부착된 압전 센서를 통해 EMI를 측정함으로써 막 손상으로 인한 압력 강하를 측정 할 수 있다. 본 기술을 검증하기 위하여 실제 수원지에서 현장 테스트가 수행되었다. 신뢰성을 높이기 위해 각 측정 단계에서 20 회 실험을 수행 하였고 그 결과, 미세한 압력 강하를 검출함으로써 막의 손상을 모니터링 할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Magnetic sensing NDE(non-destructive evaluation) method was applied to detect local damages at the steel chain of the escalator. To verify the feasibility of the magnetic sensing based chain inspection method, a magnetic sensor head was fabricated to adapt to the target chain. The fabricated sensor head scanned the notch damaged chain specimen to measure the magnetic flux signals. After obtaining signal, a series of signal processing process including pick picking and enveloping process based on Hilbert transform (HT) was performed to detect the damaged point by clarifying the signal.
