      • A Study on the Development of Full Width Wallpaper Design by Using Digital Transcription Printing

        In the digital era, it is time for textile industry-one of the most important national industries to focus on developing higher vallue-added production, and reform the Industry Performance indicator. This paper studies the fundamental notions of digital transcription printing which os applied to developing the design of full width wallpaper and suggests methods of it by using compatibility between textile CAD programs. There are three conclusions. Firstly, the characteristics of computer tools for design development and their compatibility have to be analyzed to make products as intended. Secondly, one of the main advantages that dye-sublimation printing has is its ability to protect the print from discoloration. There are several other advantages. For one, dye-sublimation inks are transferred to a medium such as silk and cotton, so that different kinds of textural features are expressed.

      • A STUDY ON THE EXPLOSION SAFETY ASSESSMENT OF HYDROCARBON REFRIGERANT REFRIGERATOR

        This paper discribes an experimental explosion risk assessment study on refrigerators containing flammable hydrocarbon refrigerant. A refrigerator used in this study is a larder fridge type, 215 liter in volume. The hydrocarbon refrigerant used in the refrigerator is iso-butane(C<TEX>$_4$</TEX>H<TEX>$_{10}$</TEX>). For the explosion safety assessment of the refrigerator, temperature of compressor, cooling air circulation fan motor, defrost heater and inner lamp were measured during the operation. And to confirm the ignitablity of flammable gas by the electric spark of the switches of the refrigerator, ON-OFF test of all switches were conducted with compulsorily near the stoichiometric concentration atmosphere of iso-butane-air mixture. As the result of experiment above mentioned and another experiment for the explosion safety assessment, we can conclude that explosion hazard in connection with the use of hydrocarbon refrigerant was few.w.

        수중 유기물처리를 위한 광펜톤반응의 최적조건 도출

        Fenton is the reaction using the OH· radicals generating by interaction between hydrogen peroxide and Fe<sup>2+</sup> which can oxidize the contaminants. Fe<sup>2+</sup> ions are oxidized to Fe<sup>3+</sup> ions by reaction with H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> and formed OH· radicals. UV-Fenton process includes the additional reaction that generates the OH· radicals by photodegradation of H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>. In methylorange (MO) decolourization experiment with UV-Fenton, optimal Fe<sup>2+</sup>: H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> ratio was obtained at 1 : 10. Based on the obtained condition (H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>= 10mM, Fe<sup>2+</sup> = 1 mM) with/without UV-fenton experiment was carried out. Removal efficiency and sludge production were measured at 30 min. The case of w/o UV irradiation and only H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> was hardly treated and only Fe<sup>2+</sup> showed 65% removal owing to coagulation. When UV-Fenton process in optimal ratio (Fe<sup>2+</sup>: H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> = 1 : 10), UV irradiation showed better removal efficiency than of w/o UV irradiation. Also, MO decolourization was a function of the hydrogen peroxide concentration (x<sub>1</sub>), Fe<sup>2+</sup>:H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> ratio (x<sub>2</sub>), and numbers of UV lamp (x<sub>3</sub>) from the application of the response surface methodology. Statistical results showed the order of significance of the independent variables to be hydrogen peroxide concentration > numbers of UV l amp > Fe<sup>2+</sup>: H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> ratio.

        국제 학술지 발간 개선을 위한 자매학술지의 분석 연구

        이 연구는 2015년에 WoS와 Scopus의 문헌정보학 분야에서 동시에 등재된 학술지 2종과 그 자매지들, 그리고 국내 발간 국제학술지로 SCIE와 Scopus에 동시에 등재된 해양학 학술지 1종과 그 자매지 1종(Scopus 등재)의 2014년 및 2015년에 게재된 논문들과 이 논문들을 2016년에 인용한 논문들을 조사하였다. 이 연구는 WoS에 등재된 학술지와 이들 학술지의 자매지이지만 WoS에 등재되지 않은 학술지의 특성을 비교하여, WoS에 등재된 학술지의 특징을 파악해보고자 하였다. 이 연구의 분석 결과로 WoS의 등재지의 특징을 종합하여 살펴보면, 간행을 더 자주 하며, 논문위주로 발행하고, 다양한 국가의 저자에게 투고 받으며, 게재논문들이 더 많이 인용되는 것을 보면 논문의 품질이 더 좋다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 등재학술지가 비등재 자매지보다 공동연구의 논문을 게재하는 비율이 더 높았으며, 문헌정보학분야 학술지에서는 그 비율이 더 크게 나타났다. 이는 단독연구의 비율이 더 높은 국내발행 학술지가 국제색인 데이터베이스에 등재되고자 할 때 고려사항이 될 수 있을 것이다. The study analyzed the characteristics of two library and information science journals indexed by Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus in 2015 along with two of their non-indexed sister journals. The study also analyzed the characteristics of a SCIE- and Scopus-indexed oceanographic journal published domestically along with its sister journal indexed by Scopus only. In addition, the study collected and analyzed the articles published during 2014 and 2015 in these 6 journals as well as the citations they received in 2016. By comparing the characteristics and publication data of indexed journals and their sister journals, the study aimed to identify the properties of WoS-indexed journals that may be helpful in enhancing international journal publication. The findings from the analysis of data can be summarized as follows: WoS-indexed journals publish more frequently, focus mainly on articles, are authored by researchers from many countries, and have higher quality papers that receive more citations than their non-WoS-indexed sister journals. The study also found higher rates of co-authored papers in WoS indexed journals, which were amplified in LIS journals. This is an important factor to consider for Korean LIS journals that are dominated by singe-author articles when they prepare to be indexed in WoS.

        소비자 조사와 착의 실험을 통한 온도감응형 기능성 의류개발을 위한 기초연구

        In this research, consumer awareness investigation and wearing test were carried out for obtaining useful data on the development of thermo-sensitive functional clothing material. A survey involved 216 people in Seoul and Kyeonggi- do, and 200 questionnaires data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and frequency using SPSS 17.0. Four healthy men in twenties were participated for wearing test. Subjects in normal loungewear were exposed to temperature change from the initial temperature 30oC down to 5oC for an hour in a climate chamber. The environmental temperature, surface temperature of garment and skin were measured. As a result, most of respondents have all season clothing products such as underwear, hosiery, and jogging suit for loungewear. Also, thermo regulator y functional clothes are frequently used as underwear and sweat shirt. The consumer awareness investigation on thermo regulatory functional clothing showed that the most important key buying factor is quick climate temperature response, easy maintenance, design and cost, in that order. Surface temperature of garment went down with the cooling down of environmental temperature. The lower environmental temperature, the greater temperature difference by body part showed. Skin temperature change by environmental temperature showed similar tendency of garment surface temperature. In comparison between garment surface and body skin, temperature difference became larger under the lower environmental temperature.

        Acid etching of glass-infiltrated zirconia and its biological response

        PURPOSE. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of acid etching treatment on surface characteristics and biological response of glass-infiltrated zirconia. MATERIALS AND METHODS. A hundred zirconia specimens were divided into four groups depending on surface treatments: untreated zirconia (group Z); acid-etched zirconia (group ZE); glass-infiltrated zirconia (group ZG); and glass-infiltrated and acid-etched zirconia (group ZGE). Surface roughness, surface topography, surface morphology, and Vickers hardness of specimens were evaluated. For biological response test, MC3T3-E1 cell attachment and proliferation on surface of the specimens were examined. The data were statistically analyzed using one-way ANOVA and Tukey’s HSD test at a significance level of 0.05. RESULTS. Group ZGE showed the highest surface roughness (Ra = 1.54 μm) compared with other groups (P < .05). Meanwhile, the hardness of group Z was significantly higher than those of other groups (P < .05). Cell attachment and cell proliferation were significantly higher in group ZGE (P < .05). CONCLUSION. We concluded that effective surface roughness on zirconia could be made by acid etching treatment after glass infiltration. This surface showed significantly enhanced osteoblast cell response.

        국내 시판 고령친화식품의 품질특성

        As the aging population of the world grows, senior-friendly foods are becoming increasingly popular. In this study, the quality characteristics of domestic commercial senior-friendly foods were investigated and compared to the standard specifications of the Food Code and KS H4897. Herein, 18 samples of domestic commercial senior-friendly foods were utilized to analyze their appearance, physical properties (hardness and viscosity), nutritional value (protein, vitamin, mineral and dietary fiber), digestion rate, and hygiene indicator bacteria. When compared to the hardness standards of the Food Code all 18 samples were found to be satisfactory; however, when compared to the nutritional standard (at least three types of nutrients must be above the minimum), only five products, HG-7, DW-1, PS-1, OH-1 and OH-2, were found to be satisfactory. In addition, when the 18 samples were compared to the Korean Industrial Standard (2020), all 18 products were found to be satisfactory for physical properties and hygiene standards; furthermore, all samples, excluding HB-2, were suitable for nutritional standards (at least one type of nutrient must be above the standard).

        C-reactive protein accelerates DRP1-mediated mitochondrial fission by modulating ERK1/2-YAP signaling in cardiomyocytes

        C-reactive protein (CRP) is an inflammatory marker and risk factor for atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases. However, the mechanism through which CRP induces myocardial damage remains unclear. This study aimed to determine how CRP damages cardiomyocytes via the change of mitochondrial dynamics and whether survivin, an anti-apoptotic protein, exerts a cardioprotective effect in this process. We treated H9c2 cardiomyocytes with CRP and found increased intracellular ROS production and shortened mitochondrial length. CRP treatment phosphorylated ERK1/2 and promoted increased expression, phosphorylation, and translocation of DRP1, a mitochondrial fission-related protein, from the cytoplasm to the mitochondria. The expression of mitophagy proteins PINK1 and PARK2 was also increased by CRP. YAP, a transcriptional regulator of PINK1 and PARK2, was also increased by CRP. Knockdown of YAP prevented CRP-induced increases in DRP1, PINK1, and PARK2. Furthermore, CRP-induced changes in the expression of DRP1 and increases in YAP, PINK1, and PARK2 were inhibited by ERK1/2 inhibition, suggesting that ERK1/2 signaling is involved in CRP-induced mitochondrial fission. We treated H9c2 cardiomyocytes with a recombinant TAT-survivin protein before CRP treatment, which reduced CRP-induced ROS accumulation and reduced mitochondrial fission. CRP-induced activation of ERK1/2 and increases in the expression and activity of YAP and its downstream mitochondrial proteins were inhibited by TAT-survivin. This study shows that mitochondrial fission occurs during CRPinduced cardiomyocyte damage and that the ERK1/2-YAP axis is involved in this process, and identifies that survivin alters these mechanisms to prevent CRP-induced mitochondrial damage.         초음파 주파수 및 반응조건 변화에 따른 나프탈렌 분해효율과 OH 라디칼의 발생량 비교

        나프탈렌은 휘발성이 있는 소수성 물질로 발암유발 가능성이 있고, 수생태계에 심각한 영향을 미친다. 본 연구는 초음파의 주파수 및 반응조건별 나프탈렌 분해효율과 OH 라디칼 변화량을 조사하였다. C-18 역상칼럼을 이용한 LC/FLD (1200 series, Agilent)로 나프탈렌을 분석한 결과 MDL (Method detection limit)은 0.01 ppm이었다. 초음파 조사 동안 휘발된 나프탈렌은 거의 검출되지 않았고(0.05 ppm 이하), 반응조 덮개 개폐별 나프탈렌 분해효율은 거의 차이를 보이지 않았다(1% 이내). 초음파 반응온도가 증가할수록 나프탈렌 제거효율은 감소하는 경향(15℃: 95%→40℃: 85%)을 보였고, pH가 낮을수록 나프탈렌 분해효율이 증가(pH 12: 84%→pH 3: 95.6%)하였다. 나프탈렌 초기농도의 감소에 따라 반응속도는 증가하는 경향을 보여주었다(2.5 ppm: 27.3×10(-3) min(-1), 5 ppm: 22.7×10(-3) min(-1), 10 ppm: 19.0×10(-3) min(-1)). 동일한 초음파 조건(2.5 ppm 나프탈렌, 0.075 W/mL, 20℃, pH 6.8)에서 28 kHz의 분해효율이 132 kHz보다 약 1.46배 높았고(132 kHz: 56%, 28 kHz: 82.7%), 유사 일차반응 속도상수(k1)도 약 2.3배 높게 나타났다(132 kHz: 2.4×10(-3) min(-1), 28 kHz: 5.0×10(-3) min(-1)). 초음파 조사 10분 후 H₂O₂ 농도는 132 kHz가 28 kHz보다 약 7.2배 높았지만(132 kHz: 0.36 ppm, 28 kHz: 0.05 ppm), 조사 90분 후에는 28 kHz가 132 kHz보다 1.1배 높았다(28 kHz: 0.45 ppm, 132 kHz: 0.4 ppm). 2.5 ppm 나프탈렌 용액에 132 kHz와 28 kHz 초음파 조사시 발생된 H₂O₂ 농도는 초순수에 초음파 조사한 결과보다 각각 0.1 ppm과 0.05 ppm씩 낮게 나타났다. 혼형(24 kHz)과 배스형(28 kHz) 초음파의 나프탈렌 분해효율은 각각 87%와 82.7%였고, k1은 22.8×10(-3) min(-1)와 18.7×10(-3) min(-1)로 산출되었다. 다주파 복합형 초음파 시스템(28 kHz 배스형+24 kHz 혼형 초음파)의 나프탈렌 분해효율은 단일주파수 24 kHz(혼형)와 비슷한 제거효율을 보였으나(88%), H₂O₂의 농도는 약 3.5배 높게 조사되었다(28 kHz+24 kHz: 2.37 ppm, 24 kHz: 0.7 ppm). 이와 같은 다주파 복합형 초음파 시스템은 OH 라디칼에 의해 산화가 잘 일어나는 물질의 분해에 매우 효과적으로 적용될 수 있을 것으로 예상된다. Naphthalene is a volatile, hydrophobic, and possibly carcinogenic compound that is known to have a severe detrimental effect to aquatic ecosystem. Our research examined the effects of various operating conditions (temperature, pH, initial concentration, and frequency and type of ultrasound) on the sonochemical degradation of naphthalene and OH radical production. The MDL (Method detection limit) determined by LC/FLD (1200 series, Agilient) using C-18 reversed column is measured up to 0.01 ppm. Naphthalene vapor produced from ultrasound irradiation was detected under 0.05 ppm. Comparison of naphthalene sonodegradion efficiency tested under open and closed reactor cover fell within less than 1% of difference. Increasing the reaction temperature from 15℃ to 40℃ resulted in reduction of naphthalene degradation efficiency (15℃: 95%→40℃: 85%), and altering pH from 12 to 3 increased the effect (pH 12: 84%→pH 3: 95.6%). Pseudo first-order constants (k1) of sonodegradation of naphthalene decreased as initial concentration of naphthalene increased (2.5 ppm: 27.3×10(-3) min(-3)→10 ppm : 19.0×10(-3) min(-3)). Degradation efficiency of 2.5 ppm of naphthalene subjected to 28 kHz of ultrasonic irradiation was found to be 1.46 times as much as when exposed under 132 kHz (132 kHz: 56%, 28 kHz: 82.7%). Additionally, its k1 constant was increased by 2.3 times (132 kHz: 2.4×10(-3) min(-1), 28 kHz: 5.0×10(-3) min(-1)). H₂O₂ concentration measured 10 minutes after the exposure to 132 kHz of ultrasound, when compared with the measurement under frequency of 28 kHz, was 7.2 times as much. The concentration measured after 90 minutes, however, showed the difference of only 10%. (concentration of H₂O₂ under 28 kHz being 1.1 times greater than that under 132 kHz.) The H₂O₂ concentration resulting from 2.5 ppm naphthalene after 90 minutes of sonication at 24 kHz and 132 kHz were lower by 0.05 and 0.1 ppm, respectively, than the concentration measured from the irradiated M.Q. water (no naphthalene added.) Degradation efficiency of horn type (24 kHz) and bath type (28 kHz) ultrasound was found to be 87% and 82.7%, respectively, and k1 was calculated into 22.8×10(-3) min(-1) and 18.7×10(-3) min(-1), respectively. Using the multi- frequency and mixed type of ultrasound system (28 kHz bath type+24 kHz horn type) simultaneously resulted in combined efficiency of 88.1%, while H₂O₂ concentration increased 3.5 times (28 kHz+24 kHz: 2.37 ppm, 24 kHz: 0.7 ppm.) Therefore, the multi-frequency and mixed type of ultrasound system procedure might be most effectively used for removing the substances that are easily oxidized by the OH radical.

        중금속 오염 논토양에서 카드뮴의 부동화와 식물이용성에 대한 석회 시용 효과

        석회시용에 의한 카드뮴의 부동화와 식물이용성 저감효과를 구명하기 위해 우리나라의 대표적인 석회비료인 소석회를 선정하여 소석회에 의한 논토양 내 카드뮴의 부동화 기작과 벼의 카드뮴 흡수특성을 조사하였다. 소석회는 토양의 pH와 음하전도를 증대시켜 카드뮴의 흡착을 증대시키는 것으로 조사되었다. 소석회의 처리량을 증가시킴에 따라 식물이 이용하기 쉬운 형태인 유효태 카드뮴과 치환성 및 carbonate 결합태 카드뮴의 함량이 유의적으로 감소하였다. 소석회를 8,000 mg/kg 과량으로 시용하였을 때 CdCO3 형태로의 침전이 가능하였을 것으로 판단되나 8,000 mg/kg 이하로 처리하였을 때 CdCO3나 Cd(OH)2 형태로의 침전은 없었던 것으로 조사되었다. 또한 토양의 pH와 음하전도는 유효태 카드뮴과치환성 및 carbonate 결합태 카드뮴의 함량과 유의한 부의상관관계를 나타내었다. 따라서 소석회에 의한 토양 내 카드뮴의 부동화는 CdCO3나 Cd(OH)2 형태로의 침전형성에 의한 것이 아니라 pH와 음하전도의 증대에 기인된 카드뮴 이온의 흡착에 의한 것으로 판단되어 졌다. 논토양의 현장조건에서 소석회의 시용에 의한 벼의 카드뮴 흡수농도 저감효과를 시험한 결과, 소석회의 시용량을 증가시킴에 따라 벼의 카드뮴 흡수농도는 유의적으로 감소하는 결과를 나타내었다. Research Article : BACKGROUND : Many studies associated with cadmium (Cd) immobilization using lime fertilizer have been conducted for several decades. However, these studies did not suggest exact mechanism of Cd immobilization using lime fertilizer and evaluated effect of lime fertilizer on Cd phytoavailability in rice paddy soil under field condition. METHODS AND RESULTS: This study was conducted to determine exact mechanism of Cd immobilization using lime fertilizer and evaluate liming effect on Cd uptake of rice in contaminated paddy soil. Ca(OH)2 was mixed with Cd contaminated arable soil at rates corresponding to 0, 1,000, 2,000, 4,000, and 8,000 mg/kg. The limed soil was moistened to paddy soil condition, and incubated at 25℃ for 4 weeks. NH4OAc extractable Cd concentration in soil decreased significantly with increasing Ca(OH)2 rate, since Ca(OH)2 markedly increased net negative charge of soil by pH increase, and decreased bioavailable Cd fractions (F1; exchangeable + acidic and reducible Cd fraction). Calculated solubility diagram indicated that Cd solubility was controlled by soil-Cd. NH4OAc extractable Cd and F1 concentration were negatively related to soil pH and negative charge. Ca(OH)2 was applied at rates 0, 2, 4, and 8 Mg/ha and then cultivated rice in the paddy soil under field condition. Cadmium concentrations in grain, straw, and root of rice plant decreased significantly with increasing application rate of Ca(OH)2. CONCLUSION(S): Alleviation of Cd phytoavailability with Ca(OH)2 can be attributed primarily to Cd immobilization due to the increase in soil pH and negative charge rather than precipitation of Cd(OH)2 or CdCO3, and therefore, Ca(OH)2 is effective for reducing Cd phytoavailability of rice in paddy soil.
