SnO_2-Pd thin film was made by co-evaporation method of the Sn-Pd metal under the pressure ∼5×10 exp (-6)Torr and by the oxidation process at the temperature of 600∼650℃ for 3 hours in air ambient. The best sample for CO gas sensing was about 10% Pd doped SnO_2 thin film. The fastest saturation response time of the sample was 5-6 minutes at 160℃ substrate temperature and the temperature was the excellent point of gas sensing sensor. When we took the Pd doping range of 0∼20%, the Pd more doped SnO_2 shows the lower temperature point of reverse change in electrical conductivity.

Huh Nan Seol Hun was a famous female poet in the reign of King Myeong-jong of Joseon Dynasty and about 210 Chinese verses written by her are handed down to us. Her Chinese verses are handed down by Huh Gyun, her younger brother, and representational beauty as one of the aesthetic characteristics of her poetry impress the readers. She describes her poor life indirectly rather than directly. Themes such as hidden beauty, yearning, solitude and grief are beautifully connected with images. Also, she skillfully uses creative techniques such as satire, simile, and metaphors to describe women's suffering which is difficult to be told. Above all, the most splendid characteristic of her verses is that she uses a projection to indirect things rather than plain speaking to express her view of life and sense of value.
잡초의 수용 추출물이 수종 작물의 초기 생장에 미치는 상호대립 억제 작용의 효과

Lettuces, radishes and corn had been raised for thirty-two days in portion to the consistency of a soluble extract from weeds, and then the result of allelopathy action affecting the growth at their early stage was admitted by statistical significance. The result of a growth test ; Amaranthus mangostanus showed the decrease of the leaf number, however, the leaf number of crops decreased as the consistency goes higher. The length of stem was shorter in the group of the high consistency than control group. The root showed a remarkably constrained growth at all level of consistency compared to control group, and the growth was constrained more strongly as the consistency goes higher. The degree of development in lateral root showed no difference at each level of the consistency, and as the consistency of weeds goes higher, the rate of dried material increased. The analysis on nutritions in cultivation soil showed that the remains of nutrition elements increased as the consistency increases, NH4-N and N03-N result in the reverse. The allelopathy action is stronger in Amaranthus mangostanus than Setaria glauca.
알렉시딘과 차아염소산나트륨의 화학적 상호반응 후 mass spectrometry를 이용한 파라클로로아닐린의검출 분석

근관세척제인 NaOCl과 CHX를 병행 사용하는 경우 적갈색의 발암물질로 알려진 PCA가 생성된다. 본 연구의 목적은 CHX와 유사한 buigunide 계통의 소독제 인 ALX을 NaOCl 과 흔합 반응 시 PCA가 생성되 는지 여부를 mass spectrometry를 이용하여 평가하고자 하였다. 대조군으로는 4% NaOCl 용액과 2% CHX의 혼합용액, 0.5%PCA 용액, 및 1%ALX 용액을 사용하였고 실험군으로는 5가지 농도(1%, 0.5%, 0.25%, 0.125%, 0.0625%)의 ALX 용액과 4% NaOCl의 흔합용액을 질량분석기를 이용하여 mole-cular peak를 분석한 결과 ALX과 NaOCl의 혼합물에서는 PCA(m/w=128)로 보이는 128 피크가 관찰되지 않았다. 또한 용액의 색 변화에서도 ALX이 농도가 높을수록 열은 노랑색을 띄었으나 농도가 낮아질수록 흰색으로 관찰되었으며 어떠한 침전물의 형성도 보이지 않았다. Recent studies demonstrated that the combination of chlorhexidine (CHX) and sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) resulted in the formation of a precipitate, para-chloroaniline (PCA). Alexdidine (ALX) is a kind of biguanides like CHX, and has stronger detoxification effect against the bacterial virulence factors such as lipoteichoic acid and lipopolysacchardide compared with CHX. The purpose of this study was to determine whether PCA was formed after chemical interaction between ALX and NaOCl using mass spectrometry. Mass spectrometry was performed for the mixture of five different concentrations of ALX (1, 0.5, 0.25, 0.125, 0.0625%) and 4% NaOCl. Results showed that the peak of PCA was not detected in mixed solu tions of ALX and NaOCl in mass spectrometry analysis. The color of mixed solution of ALX and NaOCl after chemical interaction was light yellow to white, but there wasn't any precipitate found.
당뇨병성 신증쥐에서 retinoid와 PPAR-γ 촉진제 병합투여에 관한 연구

Purpose : An inflammatory mechanism has been suggested to contribute to the progression of diabetic nophropathy. Both retinoid and PPAR-7 agonist, known anti-inflammatory agents, have been reported to be beneficial in diabetic nephropathy. Because they form heterodimer for transcription within the nucleus, we investigated the effect of a combination treatment with them in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats. Methods: STZ-induced diabetic rats were treated with retinoid and PPAR- r agonist. The effects were determined by measuring urinary monocyte chemoattractant peptide (MCP)-i, proteinuria, and intrarenal ED-1 expression. Results Blood glucose concentration was higher in diabetic rats than in control rats. Retinoid and PPAR- r agonist did not affect blood glucose concentration. Urinary protein excretion (8.6 I 0.69 vs. 22.1 mg/mgCr, p<0.0l) and urinary MCP-1 (19.8z3.4 vs. 61.5±6.1 pg/mgCr, p`cO.Ol) were significantly higher in diabetic rats at four weeks after the induction of diabetes compared with controls. Proteinuria in the group with retinoic acid (16.9 1.4, mg/mgCr, pcz0.05) and PPAR-7 agonist (14.6 `1.5 mg/mgCr, pc0.05) were decreased. Retinoic acid (42.2±2.7 pglmgCr, p<O.05) and PPAR- agonist (40.5 `4.2pg/mgCr, pc0.05) significantly suppressed MCP-1 level in diabetic rats. However, combination treatment ment was not effective to proteinuria and urinary MCP-1 concentration. Urinary protein excretion was significantly correlated with MCP-1 (r0.9, p`c0.0i). Immunohistochemistry revealed a significant increase in staining for ED-i protein in the diabetic kidneys. Both retinoid and PPAR-γagonist significantly suppressed intrarenal ED-i synthesis. However combination treatment didnt show any additional beneficial effects. Conclusion: Both retinoic acid and PPAR-γagonist suppressed preteinuria and inflammatory changes in diabetic rats. However, there were no additional effects of the combination treatment present. Further ressrch is needed to determine the effect of the combination treatment on diabetic nephropathy.

Renal and perirenal abscesses are disease entities caused by infections in or around the kidneys. As imaging modalities have improved in quality and convenience, diagnosing these diseases has become easier. Some cases are refractory to conventional treatment and require surgical correction, although most patients can be cured by antibiotic treatment and percutaneous drainage. We here report the case of a patient with a perirenal abscess that recurred twice after appropriate antibiotic treatment and percutaneous drainage. Although Gram-negative bacilli are the most common pathogenic cause of these diseases, we isolated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis in our patient. Thus, poor responses to appropriate treatment in patients with a perirenal abscess can result not only from antimicrobial resistance or a co-infection but also from the 2 conditions existing concomitantly.
Preoperative Oral Carbohydrate Loading in Pancreaticoduodenectomy

Overnight fasting before elective surgery has been the routine to reduce the risk of pulmonary aspiration. Recently, several international guidelines for preoperative fasting recommend to intake carbohydrate-containing fluids up to 2 to 3 hours before the induction of anesthesia to improve postoperative recovery. Based on the recommendations, we developed a “preoperative carbohydrate diet” provided for the preoperative patients. The purpose of this case report is to share our experience of applying preoperative carbohydrate loading prior to surgery.
