Objectives : Acupuncture is expected to have somewhat like the efficacy parallel increasing activity of immune system in Western modern medicine. There, already, are many animal researches on activating effect of acupuncture for the immune system in peripheral organs. So, we carried out this experiment to see whether acupuncture has controlling effect on interleukin-6(IL-6) activity in rat's brain. Methods and Results : We had topical application of IL-6(1U-1pg, 10㎕) on brain of rat. It reduced afferent sensory transmission to the primary somatosensory(SI) cortex from periphery. Whereas, electrical stimulation(ES, 2Hz, 1.5V, 15min) of ST36(足三里) with application of IL-6 prominently activated afferent sensory transmission. ES of non-acupoint(proximal tail) with IL-6 showed suppression of afferent transmission. ES of ST36 without IL-6 application also exerted facilitation of afferent transmission to the SI cortex. Conclusions : Electoacupuncture(EA) on ST36 has noticeable influences on modulating activation of IL-6 in central nervous system, which do major role in immune system.

<P>We investigated whether the snake venom toxin (SVT) from Vipera lebetina turanica inhibits cell growth of human prostate cancer cells by inducing apoptosis and also studied possible signaling pathways involved in this cell death. SVT inhibited growth of PC-3 and DU145 cells, androgen-independent prostate cancer cells, but not LNCaP cells, a human androgen-dependent prostate cancer cell. Cells were arrested in the G(2)-M phase by SVT with a concomitant decrease in the expression of the G(2)-M phase regulatory protein cyclin B1 and were also arrested in the G(1)-S phase with decreasing expression of cyclin-dependent kinase 4, cyclin D1 and cyclin E. In addition to the growth-inhibitory effect, SVT increased the induction of apoptotic cell death. Untreated PC-3 cells show high DNA binding activity of nuclear factor kappaB (NF-kappaB), an antiapoptotic transcriptional factor, but this was inhibited by SVT and accompanied by a significant inhibition of p50 translocation into the nucleus, as well as phosphorylation of inhibitory kappaB. Consistent with the induction of apoptosis and inhibition of NF-kappaB, this toxin increased the expression of proapoptotic proteins such as p53, Bax, caspase-3, and caspase-9, but down-regulated antiapoptotic protein Bcl-2. However, SVT did not show an inhibitory effect on cell growth and caspase-3 activity in cells carrying mutant p50 and inhibitory kappaB kinase plasmids. Confocal microscopy analysis showed that SVT is taken up into the nucleus of the cells. These findings suggest that a nanogram concentration range of SVT from V. lebetina turanica could inhibit hormone-refractory human prostate cancer cell growth, and the effect may be related to NF-kappaB signal-mediated induction of apoptosis.</P>
이동망의 채널할당과 작업 스케줄링 관련 모델 및 성능분석

CDMA 이동망 환경에서는 한정된 자원을 효율적으로 사용하여 멀티미디어 서비스 요구에 따른 무선 트래픽 채널을 할당하는 기법은 무선이라는 특수 환경으로 인해 제약을 받을 수밖에 없다. 이동망의 기지국의 경우 여러 무선 가입자 보드로부터 요구되는 서비스별 트래픽 요구에 대한 채널 할당과 이에 대한 메인보드에서 처리해야 하는 작업 스케줄링은 무선과 CPU라는 서로 다른 환경을 잘 매핑하는 과제를 안고 있다. 본 논문에서는 음성과 데이터 호를 동시에 서비스하는 셀룰러 시스템에서 멀티미디어 서비스 트래픽 특성을 고려한 주파수할당과 작업 스케줄링이라는 두 가지 요소를 접목할 때 적합한 작업 스케줄링 방식을 제안한다. It is important matter that inflect well allocated frequency resource in cellular network and is still more serious element in environment that provide multimedia services. This paper describes model and algorithm that increase two elements that is frequency allocation and job scheduling that consider multimedia service traffic special quality by emphasis that do mailing present in CDMA cellular system. We proposed the model cpomposed three parts (channel allocation algorithm, mapping algorithm using genetic algorithm and scheduling algorithm) and simulation results.
