        한국 천식아동의 기질특성

        이 연구의 목적은 기관지 천식아동의 기질특성을 알아보기 위한 것이다. 저자중 일인의 예비연구에 의하면 천식아동집단은 습진이나 알러지성 비염 등의 만성질환을 가진 아동집단이나 정상아동과는 다른 기질특성을 갖는다. 세 살에서 일곱 살 사이의 정상아동과 기관지 천식을 앓는 아동 85명의 어머니들에게 한국판"부모기질설문(Parental Temperamental Questionnaire)"을 완성하도록 하여 기질을 측정하였다. 기질의 9가지 범주 및 요인 A점수를 비교하기 위하여 비모수적 통계법을 사용하였으며, 아동들의 기질진단을 비교하기 위하여 Chi-square통계법을 사용하였다. 그 결과 천식을 앓는 여아집단은 정상 여아집단에 비해 적응성과 반응의 역치 범주에서 통계적으로 유의하게 낮았다. 또 정상아동집단의 11%가 기질진단적으로 양육곤란형인 반면 천식아동집단은 22%를 차지했다. 두 집단은 기질진단면에서도 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. 이와 같은 결과는 천식아동에 특징적인 기질양상이 있음을 시사한다. 기질양상의 조기발견은 부모들에게 천식아동의 건강한 발달을 이해하고 행동장애 고위험집단인 만성질환을 앓는 소아들에게 적절한 양육을 제공하는데 도움을 줄 것이다. The objective of this study was to determine temperamental characteristics of children with bronchial asthma. An earlier preliminary study(Kim SP, Ferrara A, Chess 5, 1980) results show that the asthmatic children, as a group, are significantly different from two other control groups(1. children with eczema, allergic rhinitis, or both without asthma : Ⅱ. normal healthy children in their temperamental profile). The parents of 85 Korean children with bronchial asthma, ages 3 to 7 years, completed the Korean version of Parental Temperamental Questionnaire developed by Thomas and Chess. The data collected were of ordinal type, ranked from 1 to 7 and the non-parametric Mann-whitney U Test was utilized. Any child with a suspected history or diagnosis of premature birth, organic brain syndrome, mental retardation, childhood psychosis, congenital physical anomaly, hereditary disease or any other medical or surgical conditions, other than asthma, requiring continuous physicians care was excluded from the study population. The results showed that asthmatic female children were characterized by lower adaptability and lower threshold of responsiveness. And 22% of asthmatic children were of the difficult type, compared to 11% of normal children. Both groups were statistically different in terms of temperamental constellation. The findings strongly suggest the existence of a distinct temperamental profile of asthmatic children. Early detection of the profile may be of great value for parents and child health care providers in understanding the asthmatic children's correct developmental needs and in determining appropriate parenting approaches for the chronically ill children at the risk of behavioral disorder.

      • 농기계의 보관 관리 실태에 관한 연구

        This study was conducted to analyze the storage and management status of major farm machinery, and to present the basic information for the construction of multipurpose storage housing suitable to the individual farmers by identifying current problems. The average farm area of the surveyed farmers was 4.25ha, which represents relatively higher than the average of whole country. The mechanization rate for paddy farming was 98%. so, the individual storage housing should be concentrated on the farm machinery utilized in paddy farming. The annual operating time for the seasonal farm machinery(such as combine and rice transplanter) were showed high difference between farmers and machines. For the rice transplanter, the highest portion of annual operation time was 1∼10 days as 71%, and for the combine, that was over 20 days as 36% and the second was 16∼20 days as 23%. The average difference in repairing cost for combine between the farmers with and without common storage housing was 100,000 won. The percent of storaging farm machinery in the open field for farmers without housing were 44% for power tiller, 16% for farm tractor, 21% for rice transplanter, 10% for combine. Each farmer had the individual temporary simple housing with various kinds and structure. Most of the farmers, 63.7%, want to use the farm machinery storage housing as multipurpose utilization. Twenty nine percent of farmers want to use the farm machinery storage housing any for storaging purpose. And, most farmers prefer near the farm house as suitable position of housing, and prefer the area of 132∼198㎡ for storage housing. The current problems on common storage housing were insufficient area(44.8%), no problem(29%) improper position, excessive construction cost, inconvenient entrance, etc.

They located in soft tissue of tongue, lip, palate and oral mucosa in form of sessile and pedunculated mass and are rare intraosseous region. In solitary type, complete excision is the choice of treatment due to their rare recurrence rate.         Report of 39 unrecorded bacterial species in Korea belonging to Gammaproteobacteria

        During a series of extensive surveys of prokaryotic species diversity in Korea, bacterial strains belonging to Gammaproteobacteria were isolated from various sources of aquatic and terrestrial environments. A total of 39 isolates were obtained, which represented 39 unrecorded species in Korea belonging to 20 genera in 12 families. Enterobacteriaceae was the largest family, as eight species were assigned, which was followed by Moraxellaceae (6 species) and Pseudomonadaceae (5 species). At the genus level, Marinobacter (6 species), and Pseudomonas (5 species) were the main genera, and at least two species were obtained for Acinetobacter (3 species), Psychrobacter (3 species), Shewanella (2 species), Dickeya (2 species), Salinivibrio (2 species), Vibrio (2 species) and Rhodanobacter(2 species).         Experiment on radial inflow turbines and performance prediction using deep neural network for the organic Rankine cycle

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The organic Rankine cycle makes it possible to accomplish energy recovery from a low-temperature heat source, which is typically not recovered for economic reasons. As the expander for the organic Rankine cycle, the radial turbine is easy to manufacture and has advantages in terms of size and efficiency. The radial turbine design modeler (RTDM), which was developed from in-house code, is a preliminary design program for radial inflow turbines and is different from the commercially available program RITAL. In this study, an experiment on radial inflow turbines is performed using both RTDM and RITAL. As a result, the output and efficiency of the RTDM and RITAL turbines are 36.04 kW, 80.03% and 35.03 kW, 76.01%, respectively. Experimental results demonstrate that the performance of the RTDM turbine is almost similar to the RITAL turbine. We also perform analysis on performance prediction utilizing a deep neural network with two hidden layers based on the experimental data. As a result, the minimum root mean squared errors of the RTDM turbine and RITAL turbine are estimated to be approximately 1.81 and 1.65, respectively. The deep neural network is able to predict the trends of the experiment for the organic Rankine cycle.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Experimental equipment was constructed based on the thermodynamic cycle. </LI> <LI> Each turbine was manufactured by a self-developed program and a commercial program. </LI> <LI> A turbine designed by a self-developed program showed somewhat better performance. </LI> <LI> A prediction model was studied using experimental data and deep neural networks. </LI> <LI> The deep neural network was able to predict the trends of the experimental results. </LI> </UL> </P>

        A report on 57 unrecorded bacterial species in Korea in the classes Betaproteobacteria and Gammaproteobacteria

        In an investigation of indigenous prokaryotic species in Korea, a total of 57 bacterial strains assigned to the classes Betaproteobacteria and Gammaproteobacteria were isolated from diverse environments. Samples were collected from fresh water, natural caves, soil, paddy fields, lakes, sea water, jeotgal (fermented seafood), salt flats, soil from abandoned mines, plant roots, digestive organs of both Japanese crested ibis (Nipponia nippon) and Burmese python (Python molurus bivittatus) and tidal flats. From the high 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity (>98.7%) and formation of robust phylogenetic clades with closely related species, it was determined that each strain belonged to an independent and predefined bacterial species within either the Betaproteobacteria or Gammaproteobacteria. There is no official report or publication that describes these 57 proteobacterial species in Korea. Overall, in the class Betaproteobacteria there were 16 species in 12 genera of 4 families in the order Burkholderiales and two species in two genera of one family in the order Neisseriales. Within the class Gammaproteobacteia, there were five species in four genera of four families in the order Alteromonadales, 12 species in 11 genera of one family in the order Enterobacteriales, four species in four genera of three families in the order Oceanospirillales, 11 species in four genera of two families in the order Pseudomonadales, two species in the order Vibrionales and five species in five genera of one family in the order Xanthomonadales. Gram reaction, colony and cell morphology, basic biochemical characteristics, isolation source and strain IDs are described in the species description section.

        Evaluation of Sound Quality for Ergonomic Design of Movable Parts in a Refrigerator

        We propose a method for evaluating sound quality quantitatively to develop high-level home appliances (HA). Generally, a refrigerator has diverse movable parts such as slider, drawer, and folding shelf. Therefore, an engineering treatment to control the noise quality is considered as one of key technologies for a higher level refrigerator. Among the movable parts, we have selected a folding shelf as an example, which is commonly setup inside of a home refrigerator for increasing space convenience, to control the noise quality. However, it is known that its noise level is very high comparing to other movable parts when folding or unfolding actions. In order to evaluate and compare the noise quality, we have tested different eighteen models, and have suggested an impact sound quality index (ISQI) based on subjective evaluation data obtained experimentally by thirty two evaluators. The ISQI was formulated using three sound quality elements (noise peak, raising time, impact duration) to determine psycho-acoustic properties. Through this work, we developed an evaluating process and ISQI that was verified the usefulness by comparing the test results of personal perceptions given by evaluators with the prediction value of ISQI. We showed a good relations between them, so we believe that the proposed method and ISQI can be utilized to control of the noise quality of HA effectively.

        A report of 31 unrecorded bacterial species belonging to the class Alphaproteobacteria in Korea

        During a comprehensive investigation of indigenous prokaryotic species in Korea, a total 31 bacterial strains assigned to the class Alphaproteobacteria were isolated from diverse environmental habitats including freshwater, seawater, brackish water, ginseng soil, plant roots, natural caves, and tidal flats. Based on their high 16S rRNA gene sequence similarities(>99.1%) and formation of robust phylogenetic clades with the closest type species, each strain was assigned to an independent and predefined bacterial species. Because there were no published or official reports regarding the isolation of these 31 species in Korea, this study identified three species in two genera in the order Caulobacterales, 12 species in 10 genera in the order Rhodobacterales, three species in two genera in the order Rhizobiales, two species in two genera in the order Rhodospirillales and 11 species in seven genera, all in the order Sphingomonadaceae within the Alphaproteobacteria are reported as new alphaproteobacterial species in Korea.         Effects of Motor Skill Learning and Treadmill Exercise on Motor Performance and Synaptic Plasticity in Harmaline Induced Cerebellar Injury Model of Rat

        This study is intended to examine the motor skill learning and treadmill exercise on motor performance and synaptic plasticity in the cerebellar injured rats by harmaline. Experiment groups were divided into four groups and assigned 15 rats to each group. Group I was a normal control group(induced by saline); Group II was a experimental control group(cerebellar injured by harmaline); Group III was a group of motor skill learning after cerebellar injured by harmaline; Group IV was a group of treadmill exercise after cerebellar injured by harmaline. In motor performance test, the outcome of group II was significantly lower than the group III, IV(especially group III)(p<.001). In histological finding, the experimental groups were destroy of dendrities and nucleus of cerebellar neurons. Group III, IV were decreased in degeneration of cerebellar neurons(especially group III). In immunohistochemistric response of synaptophysin in cerebellar cortex, experimental groups were decreased than group I. Group III's expression of synaptophysin was more increased than group II, IV. In electron microscopy finding, the experimental groups were degenerated of Purkinje cell. These result suggest that improved motor performance by motor skill learning after harmaline induced is associated with dynamically altered expression of synaptophysin in cerebellar cortex and that is related with synaptic plasticity.
