Renal artery aneurysms are rare, in less than 1% consecutive abdominal aortograms. Renal artery aneurysms are bilateral in about 10% of cases. Controversy persists regarding the indications for repair of renal artery aneurysms and optimal method of repair. The authors report a case of renal artery aneurysm with right renal atrophy in a 37-year-old male patient. This patient has no past medical history including hypertension. On physical examination, a pulsatile mass was palpated in left upper abdomen. Preoperative abdominal CT showed right renal atrophy and 8 cm diameter left renal aneurysm. Abdominal aortogram and left renal angiogram showed huge lobulated outpouching contrast collection at the proximal left renal artery without definite neck and diffuse irregularity at the proximal left renal artery. This patient was treated by splenectomy, thrombectomy, aneurysm resection and end to end splenorenal bypass. No remarkable postoperative complication was observed. The patient was doscjarged postoperative 12 days.

PECVD로 제작한 수소화된 비정질 탄소(a-C:H) 박막의 광학적에너지 갭과 전기전도도

Hydrogenated amorphous carbon(a-C:H) films were deposited onto glass or Si-wafer substrate from CH₄ gas by using PECVD(plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition) method. The films were deposited at various substrate temperatures and two different position of the substrate. The optical and electrical properties of the deposited films were characterized by measuring such as UV/VIS transmission spectrum, FTIR absorption spectrum and dark electrical conductivity. We found a decreased in deposition rate and optical energy gap as the substrate temperature was increased. The deposition rate was increased for the films deposited at IS(ion-sheath) region than at BP(bulk-plasma) region, while the optical energy gap was increased for the films deposited at BP than at IS region. We obtained a very hard diamond-like-carbon(DLC) films at IS region and in optimal substrate temperature. The films showed a thermally activated conduction with an activation energy of about 0.24 eV above 400 K, while a variable range hopping conduction below about 400 K.

Optoelectronic devices with organic semiconductors, such as organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), have received much attention because they offer ease of processing and device flexibility. However, practical application of these devices is still hindered by relatively poor device performance and lack of cost-effective fabrication process, which represent properties largely determined by the molecular dipole moments of the organic molecules. In this study, we designed and prepared novel quinoxaline-phosphine oxide small molecules (QPSMs) as the electron transport layer (ETL) for the solution-processable OLEDs by tuning the end functional group of the aromatic QPSMs. A key design criterion was controlling the dipole moments of QPSMs, which confers (1) convenient deposition on the emission layer without further annealing through solubility in isopropanol and (2) improved electron injection/transport behavior through effective band level matching of the devices. In particular, the optimized OLEDs with (4-(2,3-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)quinoxalin-5-yl)phenyl)diphenylphosphine oxide (MQxTPPO1) exhibit external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 6.12%. Our results demonstrate the potential application of QPSMs as next-generation ETLs in organic semiconductors.

<B>Background and Objectives</B><P>There is a prevailing belief that young patients with gastric adenocarcinomas have a more aggressive disease.</P><B>Methods</B><P>We reviewed the prospectively collected database of 753 gastric adenocarcinomas patients who had undergone curative gastrectomy. Clinicopathological factors and the survival rates for each pathological TNM stage were compared between patients younger than 40 years of age and the others.</P><B>Results</B><P>Fifty-four (9.8%) patients were younger than 40 years of age. The overall accuracy of the intra-operative stage was 62.5%; 54.0% in the young patients and 63.5% in older patients (P = 0.006). Intraoperative under-staging was more commonly seen in the younger patients when compared to the older patients. These trends were more prominent in patients with surgical stage I disease. Age proved to be an independent risk factor influencing the accuracy of intraoperative staging using a logistic regression analysis. There was no difference in overall 3-year survival rate between the two age groups for each pathological TNM stage.</P><B>Conclusions</B><P>The present study showed that intra-operative under-staging was more common in young patients with gastric cancer, especially with stage I disease. We investigated the diffusion behaviors, electrical properties, microstructures, and composition of In-Ga-Zn-O (IGZO) oxide thin films deposited by radio frequency reactive magnetron sputtering with increasing annealing temperatures. The samples were deposited at room temperature and then annealed at 300, 400, 500, 600 and 700℃ in air ambient for 2 h. According to the results of time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, no diffusion of In, Ga, and Zn components were observed at 300, 400, 500, 600℃, but there was a diffusion at 700℃. However, for the sample annealed at 700℃, considerable diffusion occurred. Especially, the concentration of In and Ga components were similar at the IGZO thin film but were decreased near the interface between the IGZO and glass substrate, while the concentration of Zn was decreased at the IGZO thin film and some Zn were partially diffused into the glass substrate. The high-resolution transmission electron microscopy results showed that a phase change at the interface between IGZO film and glass substrate began to occur at 500℃ and an unidentified crystalline phase was observed at the interface between IGZO film and glass substrate due to a rapid change in composition of In, Ga and Zn at 700℃. The best values of electron mobility of 15.5 cm²/V·s and resistivity of 0.21 Ωcm were obtained from the sample annealed at 600℃.

Objective: In 2009 anti-M$\ddot{u}$llerian hormone (AMH) assay was approved for clinical use in Korea. This study was performed to determine the reference values of AMH for predicting ovarian response to controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) using the clinical assay data. Methods: One hundred sixty-two women who underwent COH cycles were included in this study. We collected data on age, basal AMH and FSH levels, total dose of gonadotropins, stimulation duration, and numbers of oocytes retrieved and fertilized. Blood samples were obtained on cycle day 3 before gonadotropin administration started. Serum AMH levels were measured at a centralized clinical laboratory center. The correlation between the AMH level and COH outcomes and cut-off values for poor and high response after COH was analyzed. Results: Concentration of AMH was significantly correlated with the number of oocytes retrieved (OPU; r=0.700, p<0.001). The mean${\pm}$SE serum AMH levels for poor ($OPU{\leq}3$), normal ($4{\leq}OPU{\leq}19$), and high ($OPU{\geq}20$) response were $0.94{\pm}0.15$ ng/mL, $2.79{\pm}0.21$ ng/mL, and $6.94{\pm}0.90$ ng/mL, respectively. The cut-off level, sensitivity and specificity for poor and high response were 1.08 ng/mL, 85.8%, and 78.6%; and 3.57 ng/mL, 94.4%, and 83.3%, respectively. Conclusion: Our data present clinical reference values of the serum AMH level for ovarian response in Korean women. The serum AMH level could be a clinically useful predictor of ovarian response to COH.
상온에서 증착된 IGZO 박막의 열처리 온도에 따른 특성

We investigated the structural, electrical and optical characteristics of IGZO thin films deposited by a roomtemperature RF reactive magnetron sputtering. The thin films deposited were annealed for 2 hours at various temperatures of 300, 400, 500 and 600℃ and analyzed by using X-ray diffractometer, transmission electron microscopy, atomic force microscope and Hall effects measurement system. The films annealed at 600℃ were found to be crystallized and their surface roughness was decreased from 0.73 nm to 0.67 nm. According to XPS measurements, concentration of oxygen vacancies were decreased at 600℃. Optical band gap were increased to 3.31eV. The carrier concentration and Hall mobility were sharply increased at 600℃. Our results indicate that the IGZO films deposited at a room temperature can show better thin film properties through a heat treatment.
