이 연구는 2015년에 WoS와 Scopus의 문헌정보학 분야에서 동시에 등재된 학술지 2종과 그 자매지들, 그리고 국내 발간 국제학술지로 SCIE와 Scopus에 동시에 등재된 해양학 학술지 1종과 그 자매지 1종(Scopus 등재)의 2014년 및 2015년에 게재된 논문들과 이 논문들을 2016년에 인용한 논문들을 조사하였다. 이 연구는 WoS에 등재된 학술지와 이들 학술지의 자매지이지만 WoS에 등재되지 않은 학술지의 특성을 비교하여, WoS에 등재된 학술지의 특징을 파악해보고자 하였다. 이 연구의 분석 결과로 WoS의 등재지의 특징을 종합하여 살펴보면, 간행을 더 자주 하며, 논문위주로 발행하고, 다양한 국가의 저자에게 투고 받으며, 게재논문들이 더 많이 인용되는 것을 보면 논문의 품질이 더 좋다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 등재학술지가 비등재 자매지보다 공동연구의 논문을 게재하는 비율이 더 높았으며, 문헌정보학분야 학술지에서는 그 비율이 더 크게 나타났다. 이는 단독연구의 비율이 더 높은 국내발행 학술지가 국제색인 데이터베이스에 등재되고자 할 때 고려사항이 될 수 있을 것이다. The study analyzed the characteristics of two library and information science journals indexed by Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus in 2015 along with two of their non-indexed sister journals. The study also analyzed the characteristics of a SCIE- and Scopus-indexed oceanographic journal published domestically along with its sister journal indexed by Scopus only. In addition, the study collected and analyzed the articles published during 2014 and 2015 in these 6 journals as well as the citations they received in 2016. By comparing the characteristics and publication data of indexed journals and their sister journals, the study aimed to identify the properties of WoS-indexed journals that may be helpful in enhancing international journal publication. The findings from the analysis of data can be summarized as follows: WoS-indexed journals publish more frequently, focus mainly on articles, are authored by researchers from many countries, and have higher quality papers that receive more citations than their non-WoS-indexed sister journals. The study also found higher rates of co-authored papers in WoS indexed journals, which were amplified in LIS journals. This is an important factor to consider for Korean LIS journals that are dominated by singe-author articles when they prepare to be indexed in WoS.

Marbling from intramuscular fat is an important trait of meat quality and has an economic benefit for the beef industry. Quantitative trait loci (QTL) fine mapping was performed to identify the marbling trait in 266 Hanwoo steers using a 10K single nucleotide polymorphism panel with the combined linkage and linkage disequilibrium method. As a result, we found nine putative QTL regions for marbling: three on BTA6, two on BTA17, two on BTA22, and two on BTA29. We detected candidate genes for marbling within 1 cM of either side of the putative QTL regions. Additionally, to understand the functions of these candidate genes at the molecular level, we conducted a functional categorization using gene ontology and pathway analyses for those genes involved in lipid metabolism or fat deposition. In these putative QTL regions, we found 95 candidate genes for marbling. Using these candidate genes, we found five genes that had a direct interaction with the candidate genes. We also found SCARB1 as a putative candidate gene for marbling that involves fat deposition related to cholesterol transport.

Purpose The balloon-stent technique (BST) has certain strengths as an assisted technique for the treatment of complex aneurysms. After Atlas release, the BST can be executed without an exchange maneuver of the balloon to the stent-delivery catheter. The purpose of this article is to share our experience with the BST using the Scepter-Atlas combination. Materials and Methods Device inspection led us to a simple method to avoid failure in loading Atlas to the Scepter. From March 2018 to December 2019, 57 unruptured distal internal carotid artery (dICA) aneurysms were treated with coil embolization; among which, 25 aneurysms in 23 patients were treated with BST. Clinical and angiographic data were retrospectively collected and reviewed. Results The technical success rate of the Scepter-Atlas combination increased from 50% to 100% after careful inspection. BST angiographic results were comparable to the stent-assisted coil (SAC) group treated during the immediately post-embolization same period (modified Raymond-Roy classification [MRRC] 1 & 2 84% in BST, 96.3% in SAC) and during short-term follow-up (MRRC 1 & 2 95.8% in BST, 88.4% in SAC). A small number of patients showed periprocedural complications, but none had clinical consequences. Conclusion BST using the Scepter-Atlas combination can provide an effective and safe method for the treatment of dICA aneurysms. Scepters can be used as delivery catheters for Atlas.
Study on Condensation Heat Transfer Characteristics of Hydrocarbons Natural Refrigerants

This study investigated the condensation heat transfer coefficients of R-22, R-290 and R-600a inside horizontal tube. Heat transfer measurements were performed for smooth tube with inside diameter of 10.07 ㎜ and outside diameter of 12.07 ㎜ and inner grooved tube having 75 fins whose height is 0.25 ㎜. Condensation temperatures and mass velocity were ranged from 308 K to 323 K and 51 ㎏/㎡s to 250 ㎏/㎡s, respectively. The test results showed that the local condensation heat transfer coefficients increased as the mass flux increased, and also the effects of mass velocity on heat transfer coefficients of R-290 and R-600a were less than those of R-22. Average condensation heat transfer coefficients of natural refrigerants were superior to that of R-22. The present results had a good agreement with Cavallini-Zecchin's correlation for smooth and inner grooved tubes.
Genetic Control and Nucleotide Sequence of glnD Operon in E . coli

Uridylyltransferase (UT)-uridylylremoving enzyme (UR) is a single protein, which modulates the uridylylation state of pII protein and subsequently adenylylation state of glutamine synthetase(GS) and its biosynthesis in response to nitrogen availability of the cell. The significance of UT-UR as an ultimate nitrogen sensor of the cell was reanalysed by study on transcriptional mode of its gene, glnD. The promoter and proximal part of glnD was fused to promoterless structural gene of galK and the glnD-promotor dependent galK expression in the plasmid was monitored by galactokinase assay in various nitrogen state. The transcription of glnD was most active in nitrogen minimal condition, while the respective supplementation of ammonium, yeast extract, tryptone broth or casaminoacids decreased glnD promotor dependent galK expression. Moreover, it was deduced that the cyclicAMP system involvement in responding to nitrogen availability was disproved by the experiment with cya- and crp-cells. The probable existence of genetic effector for glnD operon was suggested by in vivo titration-out experiment by multicopy plasmid harboring genetic regulatory sites. We suggest that glnD has a genetic effector, probably of repressor type, activated by nitrogen availability of the cell. The complete nucleotide sequence of the glnD gene was determined and parts of the deduced amino acid sequence were confirmed by the results of amino acid sequence analysis of peptides. UT-UR enzyme consists of 830 amino acids (M.W. = 102,000).
Turbidimetric and Nephelometric Studies on Aggrregation of Cationic-Anionic Surfactants$^\dag$

The aggregation between cationic and anionic surfactants was studied by turbidimetric and nephelometric methods with emphasis on facile analysis of the surfactants and understanding of the mixed micellization. The turbidimetric titration of sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) with cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) or cetylpyridinium bromide (CPB) showed maximum turbidity at equimolar composition in the SDS concentration range of 0.1-0.9 mM. The nephelometric titration of the same systems extended the limit of analysis to 0.001 mM. The sodium salts of decylsulfate and sulfonate gave similar maxima, but not at equimolar composition. The coexistence of equimolar aggregates and mixed micelles were shown over broad composition range. The aggregation and mixed micellization of the anionic/cationic surfactants mixtures depended sensitively on the hydrophobic character of the surfactants.
