Four new records of family Diphyidae (Hydrozoa: Siphonophorae) in Korean waters

Siphonophores are unique, gelatinous zooplankton, which many individuals gather and live like one "Superorganism". The role of individuals in the colony differs greatly depending on their morphological difference, making them more unique. In this study, we report four species belonging to Diphyidae Quoy and Gaimard, 1827 sampled from the South Sea and off Jeju Island, Korea. Two Chelophyes Totton, 1932 (C. appendiculata (Eschscholtz, 1829); C. contorta (Lens and van Riemsdijk, 1908)) and two Eudoxoides Huxley, 1859 (E. mitra (Huxley, 1859); E. spiralis (Bigelow, 1911)) species are described with multi-focus stacked digital images. Our findings update the confirmed order Siphonophorae Eschscholtz, 1829 in Korea to be three suborders, five families, eight genera, and 13 species. In addition, we summarize the synonyms and global distributions of these four newly recorded species in Korean waters.
Design of Transparent Multicolor LED Signage with an Oxide-Metal-Oxide Interconnect Electrode

A transparent light emitting diode (LED) panel with a 16 × 16 multicolor LED array for a signage application is proposed and studied based on experimental and simulation results. As a transparent electrode, oxide/metal/oxide (OMO) trilayers with various Al interlayer thicknesses were fabricated and characterized using an established a simulation model. Using commercial ray tracing optical and SPICE simulation tools, we designed the LED panel and investigated in its optical and electrical properties. Moreover, in order to resolve the waveguide effect and voltage drop issue across the panel, we integrated additional optical structures and various OMO width into the design. The results show that the OMO electrode interconnects and proposed design considerations are pivotal aspects toward achieving transparent LED digital signage applications.

Gangneung is the tomb of the 13th king of the Joseon Dynasty, Myeongjong and his wife, Queen In-Soon. The kings who have come here are Seonjo, Hyojong, Sukjong, Yeongjo, Jeongjo and Gojong. It is meaningful for the king to sacrifice the royal tombs to remember the king. On the other hand, the king showed his majesty to the people through the coming events and emphasized his legitimacy. Hyojong emphasized the military power of the king by performing military exercises on the occasion and showed his authority. In the period of King Yeongjo and Jeongjo, the king had a meeting place with the people by meeting the people through their performance and receiving their opinions. Thus, the king’s touring has various meanings depending on the times. On the surface, the king’s touring means to realize the filial piety. The kings also came to Gangneung for the purpose of memorial service. But behind it, it was intended to show the legitimacy and authority of the kingship. In the late Joseon Dynasty, military training was carried out and the king’s touring began to appear as a military procession. There was also a place for communication with the people. Ultimately, they have in common the strengthening of the kingship, but the ways of utilizing the touring of the king are mutually different.
스마트 놀잇감의 재미요소 분석을 통한 유아 주도적 놀이 가능성 탐색

유아의 놀이 중심 교육이 주목받는 가운데 ICT 기술을 적용하여 보다 흥미로운 방식으로 유아의 놀이를 지원하는 스마트 놀잇감에 대한 관심도 늘어나고 있다. 본 연구는 유아가 능동적 놀이 주체가 되어야 한다는 유아 중심의 놀이의 관점에서 현재의 스마트 놀잇감 사례의 재미 요소를 알아보고 유아의 주도적인 놀이를 위한 스마트 놀잇감의 필요성에 대해 알아보았다. 스마트 놀잇감 사례 다섯가지를 선정하여 ‘인간과 유사한 상호작용’, ‘인터넷 연결’, ‘사용자의 프로그래밍’ 세가지 주 요인의 포함 관계에 따라 분류하고, 각 사례의 지각적 재미와 인지적 재미 요소를 정리했다. 사례조사 결과 모든 스마트 놀잇감 사례에 ‘인터넷 연결’이 존재했고, 다음으로는 ‘사용자 프로그래밍’을 포함하는 경우가 많았다. 지각적 재미와 인지적 재미에는 조립하여 형태를 만들고 코딩을 부여하여 놀잇감과 상호작용하고 놀이하기가 있었다. 사례 조사를 통해 ICT 기술을 적극적으로 활용하는 놀잇감 예시들의 다양한 유형을 볼 수 있었고 스마트 놀잇감을 통한 유아 주도적 놀이 가능성을 살펴보았다. 향후의 스마트 놀잇감은 최신 기술을 활용한 새로운 기능 제공뿐 아니라 다양한 재미 요소를 살려 유아들이 주체적인 행위자가 되어 놀이할 수 있는 방향으로 더 발전되어야 할 것이다.
임상 간호사의 환자 및 보호자로부터의 폭력 경험 실태와 폭력 경험별 대처 방법

Purpose: This research was done to investigate the violence experience and violence coping method of clinical nurses in a general hospital, and to help nurses to work in safe working places. Methods: Data were collected from January to March in 2017 for 73 nurses working in wards, intensive care unit and emergency room at one general hospital. Descriptive statistics, X²-test with the SPSS 25.0 program were used for data analysis. Results: 77.2% of participants experienced verbal abuse from patients, 35.2% experienced physical threat from patients and 86.3% of participants experienced violence whom 86.2% experienced verbal abuse and 20.7% experienced physical violence from patients. Over 50.0% of participants had coping methods(direct response, seeking for help, no action) of violence experience. Most frequent violence coping methods were ‘try to calm down by conversation (63.0%)’ followed by ‘report verbally to supervisor (52.1%)’, ‘Call for help with colleagues (52.1%)’. Conclusion: It is needed the support of the institutional communication system to prevent violence as well as tailored to clinical workplace to the clinical nurses cope more against violence.
