The high hardened materials that are remarkable in aspects of durability have been used for die and mold industry. As the high hardened materials are hard to machine, the high-speed machining is essential to manufacture these materials. Currently, in the general turning and milling, experiments to the tool wear monitoring have studied, but those have not applied in high-speed machining. In this study, the cutting mechanism was analysed by the cutting force according to cutting conditions, and the parameters to monitor the tool wear were selected from the tendency of the cutting force and acceleration according to cutting length in the high-speed machining of the high hardened materials(STD11).
Analysis of Aroma Compound Profiles in Doenjang (Soy Paste) Made from Twelve Different Soybeans.

Fermented soybean food is one of most economical and health food due to its valuable nutritional and medicinal attributes and have been consumed for centuries as flavoring ingredient in Korea. On fermented soybean food such as doenjang, aroma compounds are important property because they determine taste and grade of fermentation. This study investigated variety of aroma compounds of doenjang made from different soybean genotypes. Aroma compounds in twelve different doenjang made from two cultivar (Daewon and Taekwang) and ten elite lines were extracted by steam distillation extraction (SDE) method and analyzed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS). Aroma compound were detected over 80 kinds in eight samples (Daewon, Taekwang, MY177, MY187, MY189, MY192, MY204 and MY205) and under 70 kinds in four samples (yeonchun1, MY188, MY203 and MY206). Among the detected aroma components, 47 compounds were assigned as aromatic compounds (21), long chain fatty acid (13), short chain fatty acid (5) and others (8) by the computer library (Wiley 7n program). The major aroma compounds in twelve different doenjang were benzaldehyde, benzeneacetaldehyde, 2-methoxy-4-vinylphenol, pyrazine type compounds, cysteaminesulfonic acid, palmitic acid, oleic acid and linoleic acid. Each doenjang made by same condition (microbe, temperature, aging time and etc) had a difference in ratio and variety of aroma compounds due to different components having soybean genotype.

<P>Electron selective layers are important to the efficiency, stability and hysteresis of perovskite solar cells. Photo-annealing is a low-cost, roll-to-roll-compatible process that can be applied to the post-treatment fabrication of sol-gel based metal oxide layers. Here, we fabricate an amorphous titanium oxide electron selective layer at a low temperature in a dry atmosphere using a UV light annealing system and compare it with a thermal annealing process. Active oxygen species are created by using UV light to promote hydrolysis and condense the TiO2 precursor, which removes organic ligands effectively. The photo-annealed TiO2-based perovskite solar cell has a power conversion efficiency of 19.37% without hysteresis.</P>
Metal Powder Injection Molding Process for Manufacturing Adapter Component

<P>Adapters are a component of the output system in the internally geared hub for a bicycle. Originally, adapter parts were produced by a machining process with low productivity and material usage rate. In this study, the metal powder injection molding (MIM) process has been applied as an alternative manufacturing method to the machining process. Microstructure analysis and mechanical property testing has been conducted in order to select the material for the adapter with changes in the nickel content. The geometrical precision of the adapter is measured by using three-dimensional scanner with various mixing ratios of the powder and the binder. The developed alternative process for the adapter results in increased productivity and material usage rate. Previously, this process was only used for small parts less than 10 mm in diameter. With this development, the MIM process may be used more widely than before.</P>
