A fractional folding analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with a novel arithmetic digital encoding technique is discussed. In order to reduce the asymmetry errors of the boundary conditions for the conventional folding ADC, a structure using an odd number of folding blocks and fractional folding rate is proposed. To implement the fractional technique, a new arithmetic digital encoding technique composed of a memory and an adder is described. Further, the coding errors generated by device mismatching and other external factors are minimized, since an iterating offset self-calibration technique is adopted with a digital error correction logic. A prototype 8-bit 1GS/s ADC has been fabricated using an 1.2V 0.13 um 1-poly 6-metal CMOS process. The effective chip area is $2.1mm^2$(ADC core : $1.4mm^2$, calibration engine : $0.7mm^2$), and the power consumption is 88 mW. The measured SNDR is 46.22 dB at the conversion rate of 1 GS/s. Both values of INL and DNL are within 1 LSB.

본 논문에서는 라디오미터 기술을 이용하여 사람의 옷 속에 은닉된 플라스틱이나 금속, 폭발물 등을 투시 영상화 할 수 있는 밀리미터파 수동 이미징 시스템을 설계 및 제작하였다. 설계된 시스템은 기계적 주사 방식을 통해, 3차원 공간의 물체로부터 자체 방사되는 밀리미터파 에너지를 각 픽셀별 전기신호로 바꾸어 2차원 영상화하였다. 제작된 시스템은 물리적 검색없이 3m 거리에 있는 은닉물체를 영상화할 수 있다.

In the field of oxide heterostructure engineering, there have been extensive efforts to couple the various functionalities of each material. The Berry curvature-driven magnetotransport of SrRuO3 ultrathin films is currently receiving a great deal of attention because it is extremely sensitive to extensive physical parameters. Although this is beneficial in terms of heterostructure engineering, it renders transport behavior vulnerable to nanoscale inhomogeneity, resulting in artifacts called “hump anomalies”. Here, we develop a method to tune the magnetotransport properties of SrRuO3 ultrathin films capped by LaAlO3 layers. We systematically controlled the kinetic process by varying the pressure during LaAlO3 layer deposition and investigated the effects on nanoscale inhomogeneity in SrRuO3 films. We found that the high-kinetic energy of the capping layer adatoms induces stoichiometric modification and nano-scale lattice deformation of the underlying SrRuO3 layer. The control of kinetics provides us a way to modulate magnetization and the associated magnetotransport of the SrRuO3 layer.

We undertook a prospective study of 59 patients with Graves' disease in order to clarify the influence of antithyroid drug on the immunological indices and to determine the association of the changes of TSH receptor antibodies activities with drug dosage, duration of treatment and clinical features according to mode of antitbyroid drugs treatment. Patients were divided into two groups. High dose group included 28 patients and conventional dose group 31 patients. We measured TBII activities, antimicrosomal antibodies, and the size of goiter every 3 months, comparing them with clinical features and laboratory findings. TBII activities declined from R months until 9 months following drug treatment. Therafter no significant change of TBII activities were observed. Antimicrosomal antibodies showed the same pattern of change. There was no statistically significant difference of declining rate of TBII activities, antimicrosomal antibodies, and reduction of size of thyroid between two treatment groups. TBII activities fell into normal range in 15 patients among those 44 patients who had been followed for more than 9 months (8 high dose group, 7 conventional dose group). In those 15 patients, TBII activities and frequency of exophthalmos were less than those whose TBII activity did not normalized. We conclude that TSH receptor antibodies activities and antithyroid autoantibodies are diminished by antithyroid drug treatment in patients with Graves disease and there is no relationship between dose of drug and declining of TBII activities. We suggest that changing levels of TBII activities might be secondary phenomenon which can be achieved by control of thyroid function by antithyroid drug rather than direct immunosuppressive effect of antithyroid drug per se.
