This paper presents performance analysis of a quarter-vehicle magneto-rheological(MR) suspension system with respect to different tire pressure. As a first step, MR damper is designed and manufactured based on the optimized damping force levels and mechanical dimensions required for a commercial mid-sized passenger vehicle. After experimentally evaluating dynamic characteristics of the manufactured MR damper, the quarter-vehicle MR suspension system consisting of sprung mass, spring, tire and the MR damper is constructed in order to investigate the ride comfort. After deriving the equations of the motion for the proposed quarter-vehicle MR suspension system, vertical tire stiffness with respect to different tire pressure is experimentally identified. The skyhook controller is then implemented for the realization of quarter-vehicle MR suspension system. Ride comfort characteristics such as vertical acceleration RMS and weighted RMS of sprung mass are evaluated under various road conditions.

Purpose: Because small for gestational age (SGA) children who fail to experience catch-up growth have an increased risk of short stature in adulthood, growth hormone (GH) treatment is recommended for effective growth. In this study, we evaluated the effect of GH treatment during the prepubertal period and analyzed for correlation between GH treatment response and clinical factors in SGA children. Methods: A retrospective, single-center study was conducted from 2014 to 2020. A total of 34 prepubertal children of short stature up to 4 years of age and born as SGA were enrolled. We recorded clinical data including birth data, age, weight, height, bone age (BA), and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) levels. Results: The mean gestational age and birth weight were 37.50±2.51 weeks and 2,200.00±546.79 g. At the start of GH treatment, the mean chronological age and BA were 5.54±1.73 years and 4.52±1.85 years, respectively. The height standard deviation score (SDS) (-2.47±0.45) and IGF-1 SDS (0.16±1.57) were calculated. Height velocity was 9.43±1.40 cm during the first GH treatment year and 7.63±1.16 cm during the second year (P<0.05). The treatment growth response was positively correlated with young age (P=0.047) and lower BA (P=0.049) at the start of treatment. In multiple regression analysis, IGF-1 SDS change had a significantly positive association with GH treatment response (P=0.045). Conclusion: GH treatment is effective for short stature SGA children who do not experience catch-up growth. Early initiation of GH treatment improved growth outcomes. As IGF-1 SDS is positively correlated with height SDS, IGF-1 monitoring is important during GH treatment of SGA prepubertal children.
AN EXTENSION OF GENERALIZED VECTOR QUASI-VARIATIONAL INEQUALITY

In this paper, we shall give an affirmative answer to the question raised by Kim and Tan [1] dealing with generalized vector quasi-variational inequalities which generalize many existence results on (VVI) and (GVQVI) in the literature. Using the maximal element theorem, we derive two theorems on the existence of weak solutions of (GVQVI), one theorem on the existence of strong solution of (GVQVI), and one theorem on strong solution in the 1-dimensional case.
투석막에 따른 염증성 싸이토카인의 생성 및 응고기전 활성화에 관한 연구

배 경 : 혈액투석 중 혈액-투석막간의 상호작용에 의해 혈액 옹고계, 섬유소성 용해계 및 혈구성분의 활성화가 일어나는지 알아보고, 생체적합도가 다르다고 알려진 hemophan 투석막과 polysulfone 투석막에서의 차이가 있는지 알아보았다. 방 법 : 유지혈액투석을 받는 25명의 말기 신부전 환자를 hemophan 투석막 (n=13), polysulfone 투석막 (n=12)의 두 군으로 나누어 2주간 혈액투석을 시행한 뒤, 투석 전후의 혈액을 채취하여 혈청 Thrombin-antithrombin complex (TAT), D-dimer, tissue plasminogen activator (tPA), plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1), fibrinogen, aPTT를 측정하고, 이들의 혈액투석 전후의 변화와 투석막에 따른 변화율의 차이를 비교하였다. 단핵구 활성시 생성되는 염증성 싸이토카인인 TNF-α 단백의 혈청 농도로 단핵구의 활성을 평가하였다. 결 과 : 혈액투석 후 혈청 TNF-α 단백 농도의 변화가 없었으며, Hemophan군과 polysulfone군 사이에도 차이가 없었다. 혈액투석 후 PAI-1를 제외한 aPTT, fibrinogen, TAT, D-dimer, tPA의 농도는 모두 의미있게 증가되었다. Hemophan굴과 polysulfone군 사이의 aPTT, fibrinogen, D-dimer, PAI-1, tPA의 투석 친후 변화량 (Δ)은 차이가 없었으나, TAT의 변화량 (Δ)은 polysulfone군에서 의미있게 적었다. 결 론 : 혈액-투석막간의 상호작용은 혈액 응고계 뿐 아니라 섬유소성 용해계도 활성화시키며, 혈액 응고계의 활성을 적게 일으킨다는 점에서 polysulfone의 생체적합도가 hemophan에 비해 우수하다. 혈액-투석막간의 상호작용이 혈청 TNF-α 단백 농도에 변화를 주지 못했는데, 향후 연구가 필요하리라 생각된다. Background : Blood-dialyzer membrane interaction in hemodialysis has the potential to activate blood coagulation and fibrinolysis, and it might elicit production of inflammatory cytokine such as TNF-α by monocytes activation. The aim of the present study was to; ⅰ) assess changes in coagulation status, fibrinolytic activity and plasma level of TNF-α during hemodialysis; ⅱ) determine whether the extent of activation is dependent on the dialyzer material used. Methods : Twenty-five end-stage renal failure patients who had undergone maintenance hemodialysis were included in the study. Patients were randomly divided into two groups; one using hemophan dialyzer membrane (n=13) and the other using polysulfone dialyzer membrane (n=12). On sixth dialysis session, blood samples were obtained before and at the end of hemodialysis. Thrombin-antithrombin complex (TAT) and D-dimer, each reflecting in vivo thrombin generation and fibrin degradation product respectively, were measured for coagulatory and fibrinolytic activity. Tissue plasminogen activator (tPA), plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1), and fibrinogen were measured. Activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) was measured for efficancy of anticoagulant. Plasma level of TNF- a was also measured. Results : During hemodialysis, plasma level of TNF-α did not change. Between hemophan dialysis and polysulfone dialysis group, the change in plasma level of TNF-α (Δ TNF-α) was not different. Significant changes were observed in aPTT, fibrinogen, TAT, D-dimer, tPA during hemodialysis (p<0.05) except in PAI-1 (p=0.71). Between two groups, changes in aPTT, fibrinogen, D-dimer, PAI-1 and tPA (ΔaPTT, Δfibrinogen, ΔD-dimer, ΔPAI-1, ΔtPA) were not different (p>0.05). However, the change in TAT (ΔTAT) was significantly lower in polysulfone dialysis group (p=0.049). Conclusion : Hemodialysis enhances coagulatory activity despite the use of anticoagulant and also enhances fibrinolytic activity, which is likely the result of tPA release. In activation of coagulatory system, biocompatibility of polysulfone membrane is superior to that of hemophan membrane. Plasma level of TNF-α did not change during hemodialysis, further study should be considered.

카본 섬유를 이용한 엑스선 CT 스캐너용 Tabletop의 설계 및 평가

The carbon fiber has low x-ray absorption property and high stiffness. This is the reason why many CT(Computed Tomography) manufacturer use carbon fiber in couch tabletop for CT scanner. In this paper, we design and make the couch tabletop made of carbon fiber composite, and verify the validity in CT scanner. In designing the couch tabletop, to determine the aluminum equivalent thickness of couch tabletop, we evaluate X-ray the transmissivity of aluminum and carbon plate in 80-120㎸p X-ray energy range. And we perform structural analysis and mechanical design using determined thickness of carbon sheet. In conclusion, it was evaluated that manufactured couch tabletop satisfies X-ray transmissivity and mechanical requirements in CT scanner.
