This Paper describes a nonlinear adaptive noise canceller using neural network for machine tools controller system. Back-Propagation Learning Algorithm based MLP(Multi Layer Perceptron) is used an adaptive filters. In this paper, it assume that the noise of primary input in the adaptive noise canceller is not the same characteristic as that of the reference input. Experimental results show that the neural network base noise canceller outperforms the linear noise canceller. Especially to make noise cancel close to realtime, Primary Input is divided by Unit and each divided part is processed for very short time than all the processed data are unified to whole data.

The germination of major medicinal crops cultivated widely in our country is poor compared to the other food crops. Causes of poor germination and emergence were reported to be the dormancy of seed and physiologically immature embryo and so on. The problem of this poor germination interfere with the mass production of medicinal crops. This experiment was conducted to study the germination characteristics, e.g. germination percentage, germination vigor, average days to germination and germination coefficient, in three medicinal crops, Ledebouriella seseloides WOLFF., Glehnia littoralis FR. SCHMIDT. and Angelica acutiloba "KITANGWA. Also the aim of this experiment was to clarify the response of germination to temperature, light and plant growth hormones. The results obtained were summerized as follows. 1. The germination percentage, germination vigor and germination coefficient of three medicinal crops showed relatively high value at 20℃ of incubation temperature, which is not preferable to high temperature in germination. 2. The effects of light treatment on seed germination characteristics were not recognized, which is not thought to be light sensitive seed. 3. The teatments of plant growth hormones promoted the germination characteristics, germination percentage, germination vigor, average days to germination and germination coefficient, so that the effects of plant growth hormones was clear compared to the control. 4. among three crop species, the germination of Ledebouriella seseloides WOLFF, and Glehnia littoralis FR. SCHMIDT. was relatively higher than that of Angelica acutilobaKITAGAWA. in four germination characteristics.

The purpose of this study is to investigate empirically the relationship between inflation rate and stock market return in Korean stock market. After the literature was reviewed, two regression models were tested for two periods, 1976-1980 and 1981-1986. The results show that there exists strong negative relation between two variables in the higher inflation period, on the contrary unsignificant positive relation in the lower inflation period. The major feature of this study is the use of Box-Jenkins' ARIMA fitted values as measures of expected inflation rates. But this study has many limitations and weaknesses from the view of theory building and research methodology, thus some directions of study are suggested.

The Purpose of the Study was to determine whether the glutamate ingestion prior to exercise would reduce the lactat formation and its clearance in exercising mscle tisue during Submaximal and maximal execise. Six elite distance rummers particapated in this study. The Subjects had a half dose of glutamale(15.6mg .Kg?? ??) at 45min and ingested rest dose at prior to exerise. The test Performed twice. One was Performed in the track and the other was in the Lab. Blood Smples were obtained from catheter which was placed in the antecubital vein (Lab test) and finger tip Samples (Feld test) Unaltered blood lactate was observed in both trials, but, tended to less lactate concentration with glutamate ingestion than that of without glutamate ingestion. The recovery rate of blood lactate was markely rapid with glutamate ingestion in the field test. Unchanged in heart rate was founded in both trials. It many Suggest that, the additional supplement st of glutamate can improve execise performance limiting lactate formation or induce its rapid clearance from the muscle fissue.

Background : To exatnine the problems intolved in writing practice of death certificates, we cotnpated the determination of underlying cause of death for wital statistics using recorded underlying cause of death in issued death statistics. Methods : We collected 688 rnortality certificates issue in year of 2,000 from 3 university hospitals. And we also collected vital statistics from ministry of statistics. The causes of death were coded by experienced medical record wpecialists. And causes of death determined at ministry of statistics for national vita statistics were mapped to causes of death recorded at each death certificates. The rate that underlying causes of death for vital statistics were derived from underlying causes of death recorded at issued death certificaties sere analysed. Results : 64.5% of underlying cause of death for could be derived from underlying cause of death recorded at issued death certificates, 8.6% derived from intermediate cause of death, and 3.9% derived from direct cause of death. In 23% of cases, underlying cause of death could not be derived using issued death certificates. The rate that underlying cause of death for vital statistics could be derived from underlying cause of death recorded at death certificates was different between 3 university hospitals. Ane the rate was also different between death certificates and postmortem certificates. We classified the causes of death using 21 major categories. The rate was different between diseases or conditions tha caused death too. Conclusion : When we examined the correctness of death certificate writing practice using abpve methods, cortectness of writing could not be told as satisfactory. There was difference in correctness of writing between hospotals, between death certificates and postmortem certificates, and between diseases and conditions that caused death. With this results, we suggested some strategy to improve the correctness of death certificate writing practice.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Despite expressing high levels of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), a majority of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) patients show limited response to cetuximab and ultimately develop drug resistance. However, mechanism underlying cetuximab resistance in OSCC is not clearly understood. Here, using a mouse orthotopic xenograft model of OSCC, we show that bone morphogenic protein-7-phosphorylated Smad-1, -5, -8 (BMP7-p-Smad1/5/8) signaling contributes to cetuximab resistance. Tumor cells isolated from the recurrent cetuximab-resistant xenograft models exhibited low EGFR expression but extremely high levels of p-Smad1/5/8. Treatment with the bone morphogenic protein receptor type 1 (BMPRI) inhibitor, DMH1 significantly reduced cetuximab-resistant OSCC tumor growth, and combined treatment of DMH1 and cetuximab remarkably reduced relapsed tumor growth <I>in vivo</I>. Importantly, p-Smad1/5/8 level was elevated in cetuximab-resistant patients and this correlated with poor prognosis. Collectively, our results indicate that the BMP7-p-Smad1/5/8 signaling is a key pathway to acquired cetuximab resistance, and demonstrate that combination therapy of cetuximab and a BMP signaling inhibitor as potentially a new therapeutic strategy for overcoming acquired resistance to cetuximab in OSCC.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> BMP7-p-Smad1/5/8 signaling contributes to cetuximab resistance in OSCC. </LI> <LI> DMHI, a BMP signaling inhibitor, reduced cetuximab-resistant OSCC tumor growth. </LI> <LI> Combined treatment of DMH1 and cetuximab significantly reduced relapsed tumor growth <I>in vivo.</I> </LI> <LI> p-Smad1/5/8 overexpression in OSCC patients was associated with poor disease free survival. </LI> </UL> </P>

Background: Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is responsible for cervical cancer, a common cancer in women. Since HPV infection and cancer development are controlled by the host immune system, immunotherapy against HPV can be helpful in preventing or treating HPV-associated cervical cancer. Two oncoproteins of HPV16, E6 and E7, are promising targets for immunotherapy against cervical cancer, because they are constitutively expressed in cervical cancer. Methods: Since cellular vaccines using B cells as well as dendritic cells offer an efficient approach to cancer immunotherapy, we opted to use B cells. We evaluated the immunogenicity and anti-tumor effects of a B cell vaccine transduced with HPV16 E6/E7-expressing adenovirus. Results: Vaccination with HPV16 E6/E7-transduced B cells induced E6/E7-specific $CD8^+$ T cell-dependent immune responses and generated anti-tumor effects against E6/E7-expressing TC-1 tumor. The anti-tumor effect induced by this B cell vaccine was similar to that elicited by DC vaccine, showing that B cells can be used as an alternative to dendritic cells for cellular vaccines. Conclusion: Thisstudy has shown the feasibility of using B cells as immunogenic APCs and the potential for developing prophylactic and therapeutic vaccines against HPV-associated cervical cancer using a B cell vaccine transduced with adenovirus expressing HPV16 E6/E7.
