Background: The aim of this study is to make report the effect of acupotomy and combined korean medicine on the sudden hearing loss. Methods: The patients was given treatment with Korean medicine therapy, including acupotomy, acupuncture, chuna manual therapy and herbal therapy. Treatment progress was assessed by Pure Tone Audiometry, Speech Reception Thresholds, Minimal masking level, AP view X-ray of cervical spine. Results: After 10 times of treatments, Significant improvements of hearing and alignment of cervical spine. Conclusion: This improvement might suggest the effectiveness of Acupotomy and combined korean medicine on sudden hearing loss.

Thermal e±ciencies of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) and Tri-generation system, which areinstalled in a residential district and a general hospital, respectively, are investigated by usingRETScreen. Economic feasibility and amount of CO2 reduction are also estimated by comparingthem with separate energy system, which separately supplies electricity, heating and coolingenergy to consumer. When power generation capacity of the CHP system is changed from 26 to40MW, the e±ciency is the highest at 26MW. It is found that equity payback period is 5.7 years. Power generation capacity of the Tri-generation system for a general hospital was estimated to be3.2MW. Depending on the insulation amount of the building, pro¯ts and operating e±ciency ofthe Tri-generation system are signi¯cantly changed. As an operating strategy, the type of followingelectricity load shows the highest thermal e±ciency of 86%. When cost of electricity israised by 10% and 20% of the present price, simple payback period is reduced from 5.2 years to 3.0and 2.1 years, respectively.

OBJECTIVES This study aimed to investigate the effect of regular plyometric training on growth-related factors in obese female teenager. METHODS The subjects of the study consisted of elementary school students group (EG, n=5) and middle school students group(MG, n=6), and overweight or obese experimenters were selected based on the ‘2017 Child and Adolescent Growth Chart Age Body Mass’ index. Exercise was conducted for 12 weeks. All measurements were carried out before and after exercise. The data processing was verified using the SPSS 26.0 statistical program to verify the correlation between paired t-test and Pearson in the 12-week pretraining and post-training groups. RESULTS After 12 weeks of plyometric training, there were significant differences in height(p=.002), ASIS(p=.003), body fat percentage(p=.018), and muscle mass(p=.014) among body composition of EG. There was a significant difference in height(p=.015) in body composition of MG. In the evaluation of muscle function, in muscle strength(60°/sec), (R)-FLE PT/bw(p=.011), (L)-FLE PT/bw(p=.017) in EG and muscle power(180°/sec), (R)-FLE PT/bw(p=.024), (L)-EXT PT/bw(p=.001), (R)-FLE TW/bw(p=.004) and (L)-EXT TW/ bw(p=.012) showed a statistically significant difference. In terms of correlation, significant relationships were found between EG body fat mass and IGF-1(p<.05), and between body fat mass and IGF-1/IGF-BP3(p<.05). CONCLUSIONS Regular plyometric training had a positive effect on growth-related factors in obese female teenager.
Generation of Isthmic Organizer-Like Cells from Human Embryonic Stem Cells
Lee, Junwon,Choi, Sang-Hwi,Lee, Dongjin R,Kim, Dae-Sung,Kim, Dong-Wook Korean Society for Molecular and Cellular Biology 2018 Molecules and cells Vol.41 No.2
The objective of this study was to induce the production of isthmic organizer (IsO)-like cells capable of secreting fibroblast growth factor (FGF) 8 and WNT1 from human embryonic stem cells (ESCs). The precise modulation of canonical Wnt signaling was achieved in the presence of the small molecule CHIR99021 ($0.6{\mu}M$) during the neural induction of human ESCs, resulting in the differentiation of these cells into IsO-like cells having a midbrain-hindbrain border (MHB) fate in a manner that recapitulated their developmental course in vivo. Resultant cells showed upregulated expression levels of FGF8 and WNT1. The addition of exogenous FGF8 further increased WNT1 expression by 2.6 fold. Gene ontology following microarray analysis confirmed that IsO-like cells enriched the expression of MHB-related genes by 40 fold compared to control cells. Lysates and conditioned media of IsO-like cells contained functional FGF8 and WNT1 proteins that could induce MHB-related genes in differentiating ESCs. The method for generating functional IsO-like cells described in this study could be used to study human central nervous system development and congenital malformations of the midbrain and hindbrain.
