On this Study, it conducts the Standards investigation about air leakage of Buildings for performance improvement of Smoke control in Fire. In domestic standards, it is incomplete the Criteria standards of air leakage. Therefore it is considered that won’t limit the smoke spread due to stack effect. But in the case of the United States, it conducts the Hot smoke air-Leakage test and it consider that can prevent the Smoke Spread in Compartment.
Hypoallergenic and Physicochemical Properties of the A2 β-Casein Fraction of Goat Milk

Goat milk has a protein composition similar to that of breast milk and contains abundant nutrients, but its use in functional foods is rather limited in comparison to milk from other sources. The aim of this study was to prepare a goat A2 β-casein fraction with improved digestibility and hypoallergenic properties. We investigated the optimal conditions for the separation of A2 β-casein fraction from goat milk by pH adjustment to pH 4.4 and treating the casein suspension with calcium chloride (0.05 M for 1 h at 25°C). Selective reduction of β- lactoglobulin and αs-casein was confirmed using sodium dodecyl sulphate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography. The hypoallergenic property of A2 β-casein fraction was examined by measuring the release of histamine and tumor necrosis factor alpha from HMC-1 human mast cells exposed to different proteins, including A2 β-casein fraction. There was no significant difference in levels of both indicators between A2 β-casein treatment and the control (no protein treatment). The A2 β-casein fraction is abundant in essential amino acids, especially, branched-chain amino acids (leucine, valine, and isoleucine). The physicochemical properties of A2 β-casein fraction, including protein solubility and viscosity, are similar to those of bovine whole casein which is widely used as a protein source in various foods. Therefore, the goat A2 β-casein fraction may be useful as a food material with good digestibility and hypoallergenic properties for infants, the elderly, and people with metabolic disorders.

A Gram-negative bacterium was isolated from mushroom media that markedly reduces the level of extracellular toxins (i.e., tolaasins) produced by Pseudomonas tolaasii, the most destructive pathogen of cultivated mushrooms. The HC1 strain was selected as detoxifying tolaasin by bioassay on potato and it was identified Pseudomonas sp. by the cultural, morphological and physiological characteristics, and analysis of the 16S rRNA.. The isolated bacterium is saprophytic but not parasitic nor pathogenic to cultivation mushroom. The isolated bacterium for P. tolaasii cell, was sufficient for detoxification in vitro. Inoculation of the isolated bacterium prevents the development of bacterial disease in Pleurotus ostreatus, Flammunia velutipes and Agaricus bisporus. Control efficacy of brown blotch of strain HC1 treatment was 69, 68 and 55% on Agaricus bisporus, Flammulina velutipes and Pleurotus ostreatus, respectively. The suppressive bacterium may be useful in future for the development of biocontrol system and the construction of genetically modified edible fungi resistant to the disease caused by P. tolaasii.
Clinical and Laboratory Findings of Benign Acute Childhood Myositis

목 적 : 급성 양성 소아기 근염(benign acute childhood myositis, BACM)은 소아기에 갑작스런 심한 종아리 통증과 보행장애를 특징으로 하는 드문 질환이다. 이에 저자들은 BACM의 임상적 경과와 혈액학적 검사의 특성을 알아보고, BACM의 진단 및 치료에 도움을 주고자 한다. 방 법 : 2010년 3월부터 2010년 5월까지 충남대학교병원 소아청소년과에 보행장애를 주소로 내원하여 BACM으로 진단된 환자들을 대상으로 하였다. 환자의 의무기록을 중심으로 임상양상과 검사결과를 후향적으로 분석하였다. 결 과 : 총 7명(남자 6명, 여자 1명)이 포함되었다. 그들의 나이의 중앙값은 7.3세 였다. 7명 중 4명은 백혈구감소증을 보였고, 5명은 경한 혈소판감소증을 보였으며, 6명은 혈청 aspartate amino-transferase와 lanine aminotransferase의 상승이 확인되었다. 혈청 creatine phosphokinase(CK)는 중앙값 1,864 IU/L (범위 368-7,166IU/L)로 상승되었다. lactate dehydrogenase는 모든 환자에서 증가되었다. 검사에서 새균성 감염의 증거는 없었고, 두 명의 환자에서 B형 인플루엔자 감염이 확인되었다. 모든 환자들은 일주일 후에 자연 호전되었다. 결 론 : 평소 건강한 소아가 종아리 통증을 동반한 보행장애와 검사상 CK상승이 확인되고 신경학적 이상이 없다면 자연 호전되는 BACM을 고려해 보아야 할 것이다. Purpose : Benign acute childhood myositis (BACM) is a rare condition, characterized by severe lower extremity pain and acute-onset reluctance to walk in children. This study evaluated the clinical course of and laboratory findings related to BACM. Methods : Patients with gait disturbance who had visited the Department of Pediatrics, Chungnam National University Hospital between March 2010 and May 2010 and who had been diagnosed with BACM were enrolled. The patients' medical records were examined retrospectively, and the clinical and laboratory data were recorded. Results : Seven patients (six boys and one girl) were enrolled. Their median age was 7.3 years old. Four patients had leucopenia and five had mild thrombocytopenia and six had elevation of serum aspartate aminotransferase or alanine aminotransferase levels, or both. The median serum creatine phosphokinase level was 1,864 IU/L, (range 368-7,166 IU/L). All patients had elevated lactate dehydrogenase and no patients studied had any evidence of bacterial infections. Influenza B virus was detected in two patients. and all patients spontaneously recovered after one week. Conclusion : Self-limited BACM should be considered if acute gait disturbances with calf pain and elevated serum creatine phosphokinase levels are observed in otherwise healthy children with no neurological abnormalities.

Objective: We developed a Revised Korean version of the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS-KR) and examined its reliability, validity, and factor structures. We also estimated its optimal cutoff scores for major depressive disorder (MDD) and minor depressive disorder (MnDD) stratified by age and education. Methods: The GDS-KR was administered to 888 subjects (61 MDD patients, 45 MnDD patients, and 782 normal elders). Its internal consistency and test-retest reliability were examined. Its concurrent validity was evaluated using Pearson correlation coefficients with the Korean version of the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D-K) and Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAM-D). The mean GDS-KR scores of the MDD patients, MnDD patients and normal elders were compared to evaluate its discriminant validity. To evaluate its construct validity, a principal component analysis with varimax rotation was performed. Receiver operator characteristic (ROC) curve analyses were performed to evaluate its diagnostic ability. Results: Chronbach’s coefficient alpha for the GDS-KR was 0.90 and the test-retest reliability was 0.91 (p<0.01). The Pearson correlation coefficients of the GDS-KR scores with the CES-D-K and HAM-D scores were 0.63 (p<0.01) and 0.56 (p<0.01), respectively. The GDS-KR consisted of 5 factors. The optimal cut-off scores of the GDS-KR were 16/17 for MDD only and 15/16 for both MDD and MnDD. The optimal cutoff scores of the GDSKR were higher in the less educated and younger subjects. The diagnostic accuracy for MDD of the GDS-KR was higher than that of the CES-D. Conclusion: The GDS-KR was found to be a reliable and valid questionnaire for screening MDD and MnDD in late life.
Cu/GDC Cermet Anodes by Sintering via Surface Modification with MgO Sol

<P>CuO/GDC composite powder with 50 wt% of CuO was prepared by surface modification of ~60 nm GDC powder with Cu precursors. Since copper oxide melts at lower temperature than GDC sintering temperature, fabrication procedure was modified by inducing infiltration of molten copper oxide via capillary force and then followed by heat treatment at ~1000. Surface modification was carried out with a MgO sol to suppress agglomeration of GDC. Such prepared Cu/GDC cermets showed uniform microstructure and excellent electronic conductivity of ~8500 S/cm for the Cu/GDC cermet and ~10200 S/cm for the modified one at 800.</P>

<P>INTRODUCTION: The use of plasminogen activators (PAs) in acute stroke patients has dual effects. PAs are beneficial by dissolving thrombi occluding an artery, but may be harmful by their proteolytic and excitotoxic actions. METHODS AND RESULTS: We report two patients with a fatal brain herniation who rapidly deteriorated despite the successful recanalization and the sustained arterial patency or blood flow. Imaging studies taken after the thrombolytic treatment suggested early occurrence of cellular damage and profound breakdown of the blood-brain barrier. CONCLUSION: Fatal brain edema occurred after persistent reperfusion by the thrombolytic therapy. Paradoxical thrombolytic-induced injury, which has been suggested in experimental studies, might play a role.</P>
