In the current study, we investigated the biological activities of ethanol extract of unripe Mangifera indica L. var. Irwin using a variety of in vitro and cell culture model systems for investigation of the anti-inflammatory and whitening effects. A total polyphenol, electron donating, 2, 2’-azinobis [3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6- sulfonic acid] (ABTS) radical scavenging assay was used for measurement of the antioxidant activities of unripe Mangifera indica L. var. Irwin. The content of phenolic compounds in unripe Mangifera indica L. var. Irwin was 121.47±0.47 mg/100 g. In measurement of electron donating and ABTS radical scavenging ability of unripe Mangifera indica L. var. Irwin, the effect was shown in a concentration-dependent manner. Inhibition of tyrosinase activity was 40.69% at 1,000 μg/ mL concentration of unripe Mangifera indica L. var. Irwin. An MTT assay was used to evaluate cell viability in order to evaluate the anti-inflammatory and whitening effects of unripe Mangifera indica L. var. Irwin in macrophages (RAW 264.7 cells) and melanoma (B16F10 cells). The result showed more than 95% at a concentration of 500 μg/ mL in RAW 264.7 cells and more than 95% at a concentration of 100 μg/mL in B16F10 cells. Nitric oxide inhibitory activity was confirmed for measurement of anti-inflammatory activity. Consequentially, unripe Mangifera indica L. var. Irwin showed an inhibitory effect of 62.64% at a concentration of 500 μg/mL. The amount of melanin production was measured in order to confirm the whitening effect; the inhibitory effect was 15.16% at a concentration of 100 μg/ mL. Thus, unripe Mangifera indica L. var. Irwin could be applied as an anti-inflammatory and whitening effect and could be used in the future as a safe, natural material for use in cosmetics.

N/A Background/Aims: H. pylori infection and gastric metaplasia are frequently associated in patients with duodenal ulcers. However, the pathogenesis of duwlenal ulcer in relation to H, pilori infecri<in and gastric metaplasia has not reacbed a consistent result, yet. The aim of this study v,as to assess whether H. pylori infection and gastric metapla.ia contrihute to duodenal ulcerogenesis. Methods: Multiple endoscopic biopsy specimens were tnken frorn duodenum and gastric antrum of ?I subjects(21 active duodenal ulcers; 30 scarred duodenal ulcers; 20 normal controls). The specimens were examined histologically for the presence ot' H. pylori, gastric metaplasia, and degree of gastritis and duodenitis. Rapid tissue urease test was performed t'or detection of H, pi krri infc cti<in. Results: The positive rate of H. pylrri in gastric antrurn was not significantly different aniong ttlTCC groups, while it was increasing in duodenum, I,e., normal controls(3%'), scarred DU's(37,r), active DU's(62%) in ascending order. The incidence of duodenal gastric metaplasia in the active DU'.I was 95.2% in contrast with the scarred duodenal ulcer's(72.07<) and the nonnal contrnls(2i.04) Diffuse gastric metaplasia lesions were more prevalent in active duodenal ulcers. 1n the duodenum, a strong association was shown between the H. pylrri and gastric rnetaplasia. The severity ot' duodenitis were significantly increased in the order ot' groups of normal controls, scarrecl duodena1 ulcers, and active duodenal ulcers. In duoclenum, there was a strong association with the grade c>f' intlammation anci H. pylori. Conclusions: These results suggest that gaslric metaplasia in the duodenum and concurrent H. pilori infection may play a synergistic role in the pathogene.I. Vt' duodenal ulcer. Spray characteristics of a unlike triplet injector were investigated experimentally. Spray images and SMD of droplet were measured to evaluate the spray characteristics injected by liquid/gas combinations. G-L-G(Gas-Liquid-Gas), L-G-L(Liquid-Gas-Liquid) type of injector were used by changing the gas and liquid feed lines. The SMD graph shows that the droplet sizes decrease in the out of radial direction at a fixed gas Reynolds number. The SMD value of decreasing tendency shows that the more ethyl alcohol ratio increase, the more SMD value decrease.
원산지별 그린커피빈에 대한 항산화 및 항염증 비교 연구

In this study, the extracts of green Coffea arabica bean by country of origin were tested as a potential source for natural ingredients in cosmetic products. Antioxidative activities were measured by total polyphenol, 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical (DPPH), and 2,2 -azino-bis (3- ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid) (ABTS) assay. Anti-inflammatory activities were checked by nitric oxide (NO) assay. The total polyphenol content was found to be higher in ethanol extract than in water extracts, and in particular Ethiopia ethanol extracts had 852.39 mg/100 g, making them the highest in content. The antioxidant measurement was measured with DPPH and ABTS, indicating that antioxidant strength increased dependent on the concentration of all extracts to be superior. The cell survival rate of the extracts of green Coffea arabica beans by country of origin was confirmed by MTT assay and was close to 100 ㎍/㎖ to 100%. Anti-inflammatory activity by NO assay showed lipopolysacchride (LPS)-induced NO was significantly inhibited following treatment with extract of green Coffea arabica beans by country of origin and decreased in a concentration-dependent manner. This study confirmed the efficacy of green Coffea arabica beans by country of origin through research related to antioxidants and anti-inflammatory, and confirmed its availability as a natural material for cosmetics.

Objectives: This paper aimed to verify the applicability of mixed extract of Angelica gigas Nakai, Cnidium officinale Makino, Paeoniala ctiflora Pall, Rechmannia glutinosa Libosch, Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi, which were prescribed for improving inflammation in Donguibogam, as the materials for beauty food and functional medicinal herb cosmetics by manufacturing such mixed extract and evaluating the biological activity of the extract. Methods: The mixed medicinal herb water extract(MMW) and ethanol extract(MME) were freeze-dried to be used as the specimen. We performed electron donating ability, lipid acidification inhibitory activity, anti-inflammatory activity against skin flora, MTT assay, NO inhibitory activity and the protein expression inhibitory activity of iNOS and COX-2. Results: For anti-oxidation experimentation, the electron donating abilities of MMW and MME were above 60.0% and 90.0% at 500 μg/ml, respectively. In the inhibition rate of lipid peroxidation, MMW and MME showed 43.1% and 52.1% at 1,000 μg/ml, respectively. As a result of antimicrobial activity, both the MMW and MME showed significant clear zones for Propionibacterium acnes at 4 mg/disc, but did not indicated the clearzones for Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus epidermidis. Anti-inflammatory activity by NO assay showed LPS-induced NO was significantly inhibited in a concentration-dependent manner. Also, the expression of iNOS and COX-2 proteins were significantly inhibited following treatment with MMW and MME of 50 μg/ml. Conclusions: Accordingly, it can be concluded that mixed medicinal herb extract has the potential to beused as a functional food and cosmetic material.
터빈 블레이드 회전수 변화와 터빈 블레이드 엣지 형상 변화에 따른 표면 가스온도 분포 해석

터빈 블레이드의 엣지 형상 변화에 따른 표면 가스온도 발달과정에 대해서 전산해석을 수행하였다. Sharp형과 Round형의 터빈 블레이드를 모델링하였으며, 터빈의 회전수는 두 가지 형상 모두 0 ~ 10,000 rpm의 회전 속도를 주어 전산해석을 실시하였다. 터빈의 회전수가 증가할수록 터빈 블레이드 표면의 평균 온도는 하강하였고, Sharp형 엣지 형상이 Round형 엣지 형상에 비해서 터빈 블레이드의 표면 온도 분포가 전반적으로 낮은 분포를 나타내었다. The numerical analysis for gas temperature of turbine blade surface has been performed to investigate development of temperature with various blade edge shape. Two different types of the turbine which one is "Sharp" edge and the other is "Round" edge was modeled. Computations have been carried out several turbine rotational speeds in the range from 0 to 10,000 rpm for the each types of turbine edge shape. As a result, the more rotational speed of turbine increased, the more turbine blade"s temperature decreased. It is also found that the surface temperature of turbine blades for sharp type edge were lower than the round type edge.
