        자원봉사활동의 적극성과 지속성에 영향을 미치는 인정보상 요인에 관한 연구

        본 연구는 자원봉사활동의 적극성과 지속성에 영향을 미치는 인정보상 요인을 살펴보기 위한 것이다. 이를 위하여 기존 연구결과를 토대로 인구사회학적 요인인 성별, 연령, 학력, 소득, 결혼유무, 직업, 지위, 동기 등의 변인과 인정보상 요인으로 사회적, 심리적, 경제적, 관리적 인정보상변인을 설정하여 대구광역시 달서구자원봉사센터 소속 자원봉사자 176명의 조사 자료를 바탕으로 자원봉사활동의 적극성과 지속성에 미치는 요인을 분석하였다. 다중회귀분석방법으로 분석한 결과, 자원봉사활동의 적극성에는 사회적, 관리적 인정보상변인이, 지속성에서도 사회적, 관리적 인정보상변인이 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 밝혀졌다. This study is to investigate the recognition and reward factors on positiveness and durability of volunteer activities. Based on earlier studies, factors like gender, age, educational background, earning, marriage, job position and inducement of activities are put into the Social economic status factors while Recognition and reward factors include social, mental, economic, administrative factors. With the findings on investigation of 173 Volunteers in Dalsugo, Deagu, We analyzed the factors that affect the positiveness and durability of volunteer activities. By means of multiple regression, positiveness is proved to be affected by social factors and administrative factors. while durability is also linked to the social factors and administrative factors statistically. On the basis of this analysis, this study presents the pattern development and strategy to augment positiveness and durability of volunteer activities.

      • 오원천의 식물플랑크톤 군집에 대한 연구

        We carried out a study on phytoplankton community at Owon stream, Jeollabukdo, Korea. The author have examined 83 taxa of the phytoplankton from researched area. These were composed of 5 classes, 11 orders, 21 families, 44 genera, 79 species, and 9 varieties. The composition of occurrence species were as follows: green algae are 48.2%, diatoms are 33.7%, blue green algae are 10.8% and etc(7.3%). Dominant species were Chlamydomonas angulosa, Pandorina morum, Coelastrum microporum, Scenedesmus quadricauda, Staurastrum gracile, Melosira varians, Me. italica, Synedra ulna, Sy. acus, Cocconeis placentula, and Cymbella tumida. The standing crops varied from 1,650cells/ℓ to 47,000cells/ℓ. Phytoplankton density of Owon stream were lower about 8.6 times to a 1,531 times than those of other lakes and rivers in Korea. So, to preserve the water quality in Owon stream we have to manage continuously on the nitrogen and phosphorus.

        자궁내막에 발생한 점막 연관 림프조직 (MALT) 림프종 1예

        Non-Hodgkin's 림프종의 약 40%는 결절외(extranodal) 림프종으로 대개 위장관에서 발생하며 이들 중 점막 연관 림프조직(mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue: MALT)에서 기원한 림프종은 MALT 림프종으로 분류된다. 위 외의 부위에서 원발성으로 발생하는 MALT 림프종은 매우 드물지만 실제 거의 모든 신체 장기에 발생하는 것으로 알려져 있는데, 가장 흔한 부위인 위 외에도 폐, 갑상선, 침샘, 눈물샘에 발생하고, 드물게 안구, 유방, 방광, 신장, 흉선 등에도 보고된 바 있다. MALT 림프종은 오랜 기간동안 원격 전이하지 않고 국소 병변으로 남아 있는 특징이 있어 치료 방향 또한 국소 병변의 치료에 집중되며, 예후도 림프절 기원의 림프종에 비해 양호한 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 저자 등은 자궁 내막에 원발성으로 발생한 MALT 림프종 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 이를 보고하고자 한다. Mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma can rarely develop primarily in extranodal sites other than stomach which is the most common site for it. Other rare primary sites are small intestine, colorectum, esophagus, lung, thyroid, salivary gland, lacrymal gland, breast and skin. MALT lymphoma represents a distinct clinicopathologic features: it is usually localized to their original site for a long time and shows much more favorable prognosis than lymphoma at other site, but some MALT lymphoma can arise simultaneously or successively in different organ or give rise to another MALT lymphoma of other organ and can be multifocally disseminated or recurred. We report a very rare case of high grade B-cell lymphoma of mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) of the uterine endometrium, which was confirmed by immunohistochemical assay.

        The <i>PARK2</i> gene is involved in the maintenance of pancreatic β-cell functions related to insulin production and secretion

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Several association studies have implicated the <I>PARK2</I> gene that encodes parkin – the key molecule orchestrating the mitochondrial quality control system – as a candidate susceptibility gene for diabetes. A total of 7551 unrelated Korean KARE cohort subjects were analyzed to investigate the association between the <I>PARK2</I> single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) and quantitative glycemic traits. Two SNPs, rs10455889 and rs9365294, were significantly associated with fasting plasma glucose level (<I>p</I> =∼1.2×10<SUP>−4</SUP>) and insulin secretion indices (<I>p</I> =∼7.4×10<SUP>−5</SUP>) in male KARE subjects. Parkin was expressed predominantly in the rat pancreatic islets. Downregulation of the <I>Park2</I> gene in rat INS-1 β-cells resulted in a significant decrease in the glucose-stimulated insulin secretion, intracellular insulin gene expression, and intracellular ATP level. The <I>Park2</I>-depleted β-cells also exhibited increased mitochondrial fragmentation and ROS production and decreased mitochondrial membrane potential. Both population-based statistical evaluation and experimental evidence demonstrated a fundamental role of the <I>PARK2</I> gene in the maintenance of β-cell function.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Two <I>PARK2</I> SNPs are associated with fasting blood glucose and insulin secretion. </LI> <LI> The <I>Park2</I>-depleted rat β-cells exhibit decreased insulin production and secretion. </LI> <LI> Knockdown of <I>Park2</I> gene by RNAi causes mitochondrial alterations in rat INS-1 β-cells. </LI> <LI> <I>PARK2</I> gene plays an important role in the maintenance of pancreatic β-cell function. </LI> </UL> </P>

        Effect of Written Corrective Feedback on Korean EFL Learners’ Development of Passive Structure

        The current study examined immediate and delayed effects of written corrective feedback (CF) and differential effects of two types of CF (direct CF and indirect CF) on the development of passive structure by Korean secondary school EFL learners. The extent to which language proficiency mediated the effect of CF was also investigated. To this end, 46 learners comprising two intact classes – one high proficiency class and one low proficiency class – were divided into two groups according to feedback types. A total of four groups were thus formed: an advanced direct CF group, an advanced indirect CF group, a low direct CF group, and a low indirect CF group. This study found that students performed better in immediate and delayed posttests than in the pretest. The direct CF group performed better in terms of score gains from the pretest to the immediate posttest whereas the indirect CF group performed better in terms of score decrease from the immediate posttest to the delayed posttest. Moreover, this study found that there was no interaction effect between feedback type and proficiency level. These results showed that written CF targeting a single linguistic feature could help students develop knowledge of the target structure.

        Enhancement of Interleukin-12 Gene-Based Tumor Immunotherapy by the Reduced Secretion of p40 Subunit and the Combination with Farnesyltransferase Inhibitor

        <P>Interleukin-12 (IL-12) gene was shown to produce both IL-12 and p40 subunit. The excess production of the p40 subunit as a natural antagonist of IL-12 is a major obstacle of IL-12 gene-based cancer therapy. We previously reported that IL-12N220L gene, which selectively reduces the secretion of the p40 subunit, induces long-lasting stronger type 1 helper T cells (T(H)1) and cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) immunity in hepatitis C virus (HCV) E2 DNA vaccination model and higher protection from challenge with tumor cells expressing E2 than IL-12 in a prophylactic setting. Here, we demonstrated that intratumoral injection of IL-12N220L-expressing adenovirus showed better tumor growth inhibition and higher survival rate than that of IL-12 or granulocyte macrophage-colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF)-expressing adenovirus in a therapeutic setting. In particular, the mice cured by IL-12N220L treatment were protected against intravenous rechallenge of the same tumor cells better than those by IL-12 treatment. In addition, the enhanced antitumor activity of IL-12N220L was confirmed in B16F10 lung metastasis model, which correlated with the frequency of tumor-specific interferon (IFN)-gamma-secreting cells. When tested in CT26/NP tumor that expresses influenza nucleoprotein (NP) as a tumor antigen, IL-12N220L induced stronger NP-specific T(H)1 and CTL responses than IL-12, particularly at a later time point, indicating the generating long-term tumor-specific memory T-cell responses. Moreover, the potent antitumor effects of IL-12N220L were further augmented by combination with chemotherapy using farnesyltransferase inhibitor (FTI), LB42908. Taken together, our results suggest that IL-12N220L is superior to IL-12 in cancer immunotherapy, which can be further enhanced by combination with chemotherapy.</P>
