Cause of having a strong oxygenization in the physical world, the ozone has sterillization effect predominantly against virus, bacteria, etc and has application in decolorization, deodorization, food storage and air cleansing and has a merit that does not cause the secondary pollution by being restored to oxygen lastly. Therefore, This project describe study on the ozone generation power supply using the high frequency electric field method and the lamp type ozone generator using photochemistry, one of method of generate ozone.

Since the Apple's iPhone was released in Korea, many users use any smartphone. Since smartphones launch in Korea, many users change the previous feature phone to smartphone, and its users continue to increase. One of the advantages of smart phones is that user can install a wanted application like the computer, so the demand of applications has been increasing gradually. We are intended to study the development of smartphone application with location information by GPS. Instead of making the result of current location information by informing current position to users or approved third parties by them, we process their information which needs to be used internally them. And we study the application which changes the status of smartphone automatically by position information.

<P>We studied the contribution of Duox2 in mucosal host defense against influenza A virus (IAV) infection in in vivo lung. We found that Duox2 was required for the induction of type I and III interferon (IFN)s and transient Duox2 overexpression using cationic polymer polyethyleneimine (PEI) leads to suppression of IAV infection in in vivo lung. Twenty mice (C57BL/6J) were anesthetized and challenged by intranasal administration of 213 pfu/30 mu l of IAV (WS/33/H1N1), and IAV-infected mice were euthanized at 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 14 days post infection (dpi). Duox2 small hairpin RNA (shRNA) and pCMV-Duox2 formulated with PEI were inoculated to mice to assess the regulatory mechanism between Duox2 and IFN secretion. Following intranasal IAV inoculation, viral infection was significantly aggravated from 3 dpi in in vivo lung and viral titer was highest at 7 dpi. Consistent with this, Duox2 messenger RNA (mRNA) and protein expressions were significantly induced from 3 dpi in the lung tissue of IAV-infected mice. Viral titer was much higher in IAV-infected mice that were inoculated with Duox2 shRNA accompanied with lower survival rate and extensive lung pathologies. Interestingly, severe lung pathologies in IAV-infected mice were not observed and viral titer was significantly reduced in mice with pulmonary administration of pCMV-Duox2 formulated with PEI before IAV inoculation. Both mRNA and secreted protein levels of IFN-beta and IFN-lambda(2/3) were highly elevated in IAV-infected mice with pCMV-Duox2 formulated with PEI. Duox2 is necessary for the regulation of IFN secretion in in vivo lung, and pulmonary administration of Duox2 DNA using cationic polymer triggers the induction of type I and III IFNs resulting in more complete suppression of IAV infection.</P>

Background/Aims: Few studies have addressed the relationship between the occurrence of adverse events (AEs) in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and hospital case volume or endoscopist’s experience with inconsistent results. The aim of our study was to investigate the impact of hospital case volume and endoscopist’s experience on the AEs associated with ERCP and to analyze patient- and procedure-related risk factors for post-ERCP AEs. Methods: From January 2015 to December 2015, we prospectively enrolled patients with naïve papilla who underwent ERCP at six centers. Patient- and procedure-related variables were recorded on data collection sheets at the time of and after ERCP. Results: A total of 1,191 patients (median age, 71 years) were consecutively enrolled. The overall success rate of biliary cannulation was 96.6%. Overall, 244 patients (20.5%) experienced post-ERCP AEs, including pancreatitis (9.0%), bleeding (11.8%), perforation (0.4%), cholangitis (1.2%), and others (0.9%). While post-ERCP pancreatitis (PEP) was more common when the procedure was performed by less experienced endoscopists, bleeding was more common in high-volume centers and by less experienced endoscopists. Multivariate analysis showed that a less experience in ERCP was significantly associated with PEP (odds ratio [OR], 1.630; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.050 to 2.531; p=0.030) and post-ERCP bleeding (OR, 1.439; 95% CI, 1.003 to 2.062; p=0.048). Conclusions: Our study demonstrated that overall AEs following ERCP were associated with the experience of the endoscopist. To minimize post-ERCP AEs, rigorous training with a sufficient case volume is required, and treatment strategies should be modified according to the endoscopist’s expertise.

Since the first clinical observation by Kelly and MacCallum, gas-forming infection of the urinary tract has been extensively studied. It is characterized by gas production within the urinary tract. The gas may often pass outside the urinary tract. Patients with this disorder invariably have uncontrolled diabetes mellitus and possibly associated obstructive uropathy. It is usually caused by aerobic bacteria, most commonly Escherichia coli. In the literature, the majority of cases were emphysematous pyelonephritis alone or emphysematous cystitis separately. Bilateral renal involvement associated with emphysematous cystitis is very rarely seen and no case was reported yet in Korea. We report a case of bilateral emphysematous pyelonephritis and emphysematous cystitis which occured in 48-year-old diabetic patient simultaneously. It was caused by E coli The patient was cured by medical management alone.

<P>Mitochondrial dysfunction reflects a lifelong cumulative burden of cellular damage, and a decrease in mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) copy number is associated with oxidative stress and chronic inflammation. The goal of this study was to assess whether mitochondrial dysfunction and a decrease in mtDNA copy number are common features of patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSA). We compared mtDNA copy number between 20 healthy volunteers and 20 patients with OSA and investigated whether a significant attenuation of mtDNA copy number was observed in genomic DNA isolated from whole blood of OSA patients. Our observations lead to the hypothesis that mtDNA copy number is lower in whole blood DNA of OSA subjects and might be related to OSA severity, reflecting excessive oxidative stress in patients with OSA.</P>

Despite recent progress in medical and endovascular therapy, the prognosis for patients with critical limb ischemia (CLI) remains poor. In response, various stem cells and growth factors have been assessed for use in therapeutic neovascularization and limb salvage in CLI patients. However, the clinical outcomes of cell-based therapeutic angiogenesis have not provided the promised benefits, reinforcing the need for novel cell-based therapeutic angiogenic strategies to cure untreatable CLI. In the present study, we investigated genetically engineered mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) derived from human bone marrow that continuously secrete stromal-derived factor-1α (SDF1α-eMSCs) and demonstrated that intramuscular injection of SDF1α-eMSCs can provide long-term paracrine effects in limb ischemia and effectively contribute to vascular regeneration as well as skeletal muscle repair through increased phosphorylation of ERK and Akt within the SDF1α/CXCR4 axis. These results provide compelling evidence that genetically engineered MSCs with SDF-1α can be an effective strategy for successful limb salvage in limb ischemia.
