      • Identification index of wildlife for camera trapping analysis

        Camera trapping (CT) is one of the methods to survey wildlife. This method is used for monitoring nocturnal mammals, which cannot be seen directly, and for the use of habitats and identification of terrestrial mammals. However, there are many identification errors in results of data analysis because of no criteria in analysis of camera trapping data and lack of researcher's experience. Our purpose of this study is to make an identification index. This study used 6,746 pictures, which wildlife is included, of 27,061 pictures taken from 21 cameras installed in the Jangsudae, Seoraksan National Park during the period of May 2016 to July 2017. After production of index, the error rate was derived through the verification of expert who have experience above 5 years in the field of wildlife ecology. After the index applied, total error rate was 1.2% in detail, 2.1% in water deer and 1.8% in Roe deer. To verify usefulness of identification index, we analysis another CT data which include four species of Roe deer (Capreolus pygargus), Water deer (Hydropotes inermis), Badger (Meles meles) and Raccoon dog (Nyctereutes procyonoides which are most confusing species to identify. In additional analysis, we used 3,549 photos which wildlife is included, of 93,287 photos from 75 cameras installed in Osaek, Seoraksan National Park from November 2015 to July 2016. In the case of further analysis, average error rate was 0.3% in 4 species, and the error rates were 0% in Water deer, 1.2% in Roe deer, 0% in Raccoon dog, and 0.6% in Badger. Identification idex what we made will contribute to the study of mammals using camera trapping.

      • GH57 amylopullulanase from <i>Desulfurococcus amylolyticus</i> JCM 9188 can make highly branched cyclodextrin via its transglycosylation activity

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P> <I>Desulfurococcus amylolyticus</I> is an anaerobic and hyperthermophilic crenarchaeon that can use various carbohydrates as energy sources. We found a gene encoding a glycoside hydrolase family 57 amylolytic enzymes (DApu) in a putative carbohydrate utilization gene cluster in the genome of <I>D. amylolyticus</I>. This gene has an open reading frame of 1,878 bp and consists of 626 amino acids with a molecular mass of 71 kDa. Recombinant DApu (rDApu) completely hydrolyzed pullulan to maltotriose by attacking α-1,6-glycosidic linkages, and was able to produce glucose and maltose from soluble starch and amylopectin. Although rDApu showed no activity toward α-cyclodextrin (CD) and β-CD, maltooctaose (G8) was detected from reaction with γ-CD. The highest activity of rDApu was measured at pH 5.0 and 95 °C. The half-life of rDApu was 12.7 h at 95 °C and 27 min at 98 °C. Interestingly, rDApu was able to transfer a maltose unit to 6-<I>O</I>-α-maltosyl-β-CD via transglycosylation. Structure analysis using MALDI-TOF/TOF MS and nuclear magnetic resonance revealed that the new transglycosylated products were 6<SUP>1</SUP>, 6<SUP>4</SUP>-di-<I>O</I>-maltosyl-β-CD and 6<SUP>1</SUP>, 6<SUP>3</SUP>, 6<SUP>5</SUP>-tri-<I>O</I>-maltosyl-β-CD.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> GH57 amylopullulanase from <I>Desulfurococcus amylolyticus</I> (DApu) was characterized. </LI> <LI> DApu exhibits not only hydrolysis activity but also transglycosylation activity. </LI> <LI> Branched cyclodextrins were formed by transfer of a maltose unit by DApu. </LI> </UL> </P>

        쌀 가격의 유통단계별 인과성과 비대칭적 가격 전이 검정

        This study empirically analyzes the asymmetric price transfer of rice under the assumption that the degree of price response in the production stage could be reduced or expanded without being constantly transferred to the wholesale or retail stage due to costs and processing occurring in the distribution process. we first analysis the causality of the wholesale price and retail price of rice, and determine the time lag in which the price of rice is transferred from the wholesale market to the retail market. In addition, we analyze asymmetric price transmission to determine whether the rice distribution market is inefficient. In the result, the time lag is estimated to be about 10 to 30 days. Furthermore, the analysis result shows that there is positive asymmetric price transmission in the wholesale-retail market. This result can be interpreted as a high probability of a retailer's excess profit, meaning that changes in retail prices are more sensitive when wholesale prices increase than when the wholesale prices decreases. These results suggest that improvement of the rice distribution system needs to be approached not only at the production-wholesale stage but also at the retail-wholesale stage. In other words, if an efficient retail price is determined through strengthening monitoring system of retail prices, we can expect that the more efficient distribution structure in rice market.

        CAE를 이용한 함정 Ammunition Elevator Door 보강 설계

        This study evaluated structural safety of ammunition elevator door for naval vessel by computational aided engineering. First, an initial model that satisfies classification regulations was performed static structural analysis under the hydrostatic loads. As an analysis result, structural vulnerability of an initial model was identified, so a stiffener’s volume was selected as an design variables and progressed design reinforcement. The stiffener was reselected based on material cost and strength, and evaluated structural safety of a design reinforced model.

        한,미 FTA 오렌지 관세인하가 국재 주요 과일 가격에 미치는 영향분석

        To analyze the impact of the KORUS FTA on the domestic fruit market, this study conducted a consumer survey on the consumption substitution effects of importing oranges on domestic fruits and estimated the impact of lowering tariffs imported oranges on domestic fruit prices using a simultaneous equation based on monthly import statistics during the main orange-importing period. According to the survey results, it was found that 64% of surveyed consumers could feel the drop in orange prices and one quarter of surveyed consumers increased their purchase of oranges while decreasing their consumption of domestic fruits. Domestic fruits, The prices of domestic fruits increased sharply higher than previous years since the KORUS FTA went into effect, and the main cause this big increase in the price was due to the reduction in supply amount resulting from a bad gravest. The lowering of tariffs for oranges, on the other hand, had the erect of limiting the prices of domestic fruits such as mandarin oranges, oriental melons, strawberries, and cherry tomatoes, The tariff reduction of oranges imported from the U.S. had the effect of lowering the price of lowering the price of mandarin oranges by 10.4% and melons, strawberries, and cherry tomatoes by 3~4%.ln response to the tariff reduction for imported oranges, consumers responded to the overall reduction in welfare by increasing their purchase of imported oranges, On the other hand. The domestic fruit growers who harvest and supply their produce during the orange-importing period suffered a welfare reduction compared to previous years as they failed to sufficiently compensate the sharp drop in supply amount with a price increase.

        성인 코우츠병에서 유리체강 내 라니비주맙주입술을 시행한 1예

        목적: 성인 코우츠병 환자에서 유리체강 내 라니비주맙주입술 시행 후 망막 부종 감소 및 시력 호전을 보인 증례를 경험하여 이를 보고하고자 한다. 증례요약: 기저질환이 없는 21세 여자가 3개월 전부터 지속되는 좌안의 시력저하를 주소로 내원하였다. 최대교정시력 우안 1.0, 좌안 0.4, 안압은 우안 19 mmHg, 좌안 16 mmHg로 측정되었다. 세극등 검사상 전안부에서 특이소견은 관찰되지 않았다. 안저 검사상 좌안에 망막하 삼출물, 후극부 상측 망막 부종 및 상이측 혈관궁을 따라 분포된 모세혈관 확장증 소견을 보였다. 코우츠병 진단하에 유리체강 내 라니비주맙주입술을 시행하였고 모세혈관 확장증 및 모세혈관 비관류 지역에 대하여 레이저 광응고술을 시행하였고 1개월 후 망막 부종 감소를 보였다. 이후 1개월 간격으로 유리체강 내 라니비주맙 2차, 3차 주입술을 추가 시행하였고 최대교정시력 좌안 0.8로 개선되었으며 빛간섭단층촬영상 상측 망막 부종 감소를 보였다. 결론: 성인 코우츠병 환자에서 유리체강 내 라니비주맙주입술이 코우츠병의 일반적인 치료로 이용되는 레이저 광응고술과 병합치료로서 망막 부종 감소 및 시력 회복에 효과적임을 보고하는 바이다. <대한안과학회지 2017;58(7):870-874> Purpose: To report a case of adult-onset Coats’ disease which showed decreased retinal edema and improved visual acuity following intravitreal ranibizumab injection. Case summary: A 21-year-old woman visited our hospital for decreased visual acuity in left eye from 3 months ago. Her best corrected visual acuity was 1.0 in the right eye, and 0.4 in the left eye. The intraocular pressure was 19 mmHg in the right eye and 16 mmHg in the left eye. At anterior segment examination, no abnormal findings were found. On fundus examination, subretinal exudates, superior retinal edema at posterior pole, and telangiectasia along superortemporal vascular arcade were observed in the left eye. Upon diagnosis as Coats’ disease, intravitreal ranibizumab was performed, and laser photocoagulation was done around the retinal telangiectasia and nonperfusion area. Then, the second and third intravitreal ranibizumab injections were performed by a month, and her best visual acuity was improved to 0.8 and optical coherence tomography revealed decreased retinal edema. Conclusions: We report a case of adult-onset Coats’ disease. Intravitreal ranibizumab injection is effective in rapid visual improvement and decrease of retinal edema as combination therapy with laser photocoagulation which was a generalized treatment of choice in Coats’ disease.       • 정렬 네트워크를 이용한 엘리베이터 군 제어기 설계

        현재 복수개의 엘리베이터를 최적 제어하기 위해서 엘리베이터 군 제어 시스템이 사용되고 있다. 일반적인 엘리베이터 군 제어 시스템에서는 임의의 층에서의 호출(Hall Call)에 대해 복수개의 엘리베이터로부터 정보를 받는다. 다음으로 각 엥리베이터의 매력함수값을 산출, 매력함수들을 비교한 후 가장 큰 값을 갖는 엘리베이터를 호출한 층으로 보내는 작업을 수행한다. 본 논문에서는 16개의 엘리베이터와 정렬 네트워크(Sorting Network)를 이용하여 각 엘리베이터들의 매력함수값의 비료를 수행하는 엘리베이터 군 제어부를 설계한다. 이를 통해 제어부에서 매력함수값들의 비료 연산에 소요되는 처리속도를 향상시킬 수 있다.
