        The number of malls which is increasingly growing in the city of Jakarta is often used as a place for socializing and self-actualization by youth shoppers. As an emerging age group, youth shoppers are also identified as a vital market segment. Firstly, this study divides youth shoppers into segments that are distinguished on the characteristics of high and low levels on self-esteem, extraversion, and interpersonal communication. Consequently, these characteristics form a distinct and unique segment group, which are Social Butterfly, Confident techies, and Self-Contained Shoppers. Secondly, this research examines the differences between the three groups segments on shopping motives, store attributes and shopping enjoyment. There is a significant difference between segment groups typology consumer of youth shoppers on several dimensions that exist in the variable of shopping motives, store attribute, and shopping enjoyment. Social Butterfly is a segment that has the highest mean on several dimensions in the variable of shopping motives, store attribute, and shopping enjoyment. It is followed by Confident Techies segment and Self-Contained Shoppers segment respectively.

        지속 가능한 친환경 패션디자인의 기술 융합적 사례 연구

        현대사회는 비약적 경쟁 성장이 일으킨 환경 파괴로 전 지구적인 환경 문제에 봉착했다. 패션업계도 지속가능성을 키워드로 개발을 추진하며 환경과 경제적· 사회적 책임의 중요성을 강조하게 되었다. 이 같은 흐름에 따라 디자이너에게도 환경, 윤리, 사회적 책무를 요구하고 있다. 본 연구는 패션 기업과 디자이너들이 실무에 확대 적용할 수 있는 발전 방향을 모색하고, 디자인 연구자에게 환경친화적 패션디자인을 위한 이론적· 과학적 기초 자료를 제공하기 위해 진행되었다. 연구방법은 패션디자인의 지속 가능성에 대한 창의적 아이디어를 도출할 수 있게 하는 기술 융합적 접근 사례를 선정하고 분석하였다. 소재에 대한 기술 융합적 접근은 더욱 정교하고 다양한 측면의 통합적 고려를 할 수 있다는 점에서 환경에 대한 본질적 문제로 접근할 수 있게 한다. 이는 단지 시각적인 친환경 표현의 수준성을 넘어 환경친화적 품질을 지향하는 패션디자인으로 발전하게 하는 것이다. 분석방법은 친환경 염색 기술을 활용한 패션디자인, 소재를 자연 채취하여 무해성을 강조한 패션디자인, 버려지는 폐원단의 최소화에 초점한 패션디자인으로 분류하여 분석하고 논의하였다. 이 같은 고찰을 통해 사례가 보여주는 효과성과 한계점을 짚어보고 앞으로 나아가야 할 방향을 살펴봄으로써 패션 기업과 디자이너들이 실무에 확대 적용할 수 있는 발전 방향을 모색하였다. 본 연구는 패션디자인 영역에서 전반적으로 중요시하는 미적 가치, 유행 창출에만 국한하지 않고, 디자이너로 하여금 친환경성과 지속가능성에 대한 인식을 고취하고 패션산업에서의 혁신적 기술 융합이 현 시대의 문제점들을 해결할 수 있는 방안이 될 수 있음을 살펴보았다. 그러나 대부분의 사례는 아직 실험적 프로토타입 단계에 머물러 있으며 시장성을 갖추지 못하고 있으므로, 앞으로 상업화할 수 있는 심층적 후속 연구를 해야 한다. 본 연구가 환경친화적 패션디자인 시도의 실용화를 촉구하는 계기로 작용하기를 기대하며 패션디자이너들에게 친환경적 소재 개발과 미래지향적 기술 융합의 내재된 가치를 중심으로 발전된 기술에 대한 연구를 기대한다. The modern world has faced global environmental issues due to environmental destruction caused by rapid and competitive economic growth. The fashion industry now emphasizes on the importance of environmental, economical, and social responsibility by promoting sustainability. This study aims to suggest technical directions for the fashion industry and designers to practice implementation, and also provides design researchers with theoretical and scientific basic data for eco-friendly fashion design. It explores on technological convergence in fashion design which enables the production of innovative ideas on sustainability through case studies and selective analysis. Technological convergence in materials allow intrinsic consideration on diverse aspects concerning sustainability. This study encapsulates the frame of study through major subjects from eco-friendly dyeing technology, eco-friendly filaments, and Zero Waste fashion design, focusing on the reduction of waste fabric. Through classifying and analyzing the subjects, it explores the effectiveness and limitations of the selected cases and the directions of improvements establishing ways for the fashion industry and designers to expand on in their practice. This study raises awareness and inspires designers to take part in sustainability by proposing ways of solving environmental issues through technological convergence in fashion design. However, most cases are still in the experimental prototype stage and are difficult to commercialize. Therefore, there is a need for an in-depth follow-up research to commercialize the new developments. This study seeks to serve as an opportunity calling for eco-friendly fashion design attempts, and also looks to initiate further research by fashion designers on the technologies developed.

        Dual trigger with gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist and recombinant human chorionic gonadotropin improves the outcome of intrauterine insemination

        ObjectiveThe objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of dual trigger, which is a combination of gonadotropinreleasingagonist (GnRH-a) and recombinant human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in the final oocyte maturation, inthe outcome of intrauterine insemination (IUI). MethodsThis retrospective observational study was conducted from January 2016 to October 2018 and involved 639 IUI cyclesat the Halim Fertility Center, Indonesia. Controlled ovarian stimulation was performed during IUI cycles. The ovulationtriggers were divided into two groups: group I received a combination of GnRH-a and recombinant hCG as a dualtrigger, and group II received only recombinant hCG as a single trigger. The baseline characteristics, cycle parameters,and IUI outcomes of both groups were compared. ResultsOur study included a total of 639 IUI cycles, 334 were in the dual trigger group and 305 in the single trigger group. The clinical pregnancy rates were significantly higher in the dual trigger group than in the single trigger group(P<0.001). Based on the multivariate analysis, the dual trigger increased the clinical pregnancy rate by 2.524 timesthan that by the single trigger. ConclusionOur data showed that the dual trigger combination of GnRH-a and recombinant hCG significantly improves theoutcome of intrauterine insemination.

        Isoflavonoids and Alkaloids from Spartidium saharae

        A new isoflavone, (+)-4`-O-methyl-8-C-β-D-glucopyranosylgenistein, was isolated from the aerial parts of Spartidium saharae together with the known isoflavone, (+)-8-C-β-D-glucopyranosylgenistein as well as dipiperidine alkaloids, (+)-ammodendrine and (+)-N-acetyl hystrine. Details of their structure elucidation are based on chemical and spectroscopic methods. N-formyl ammodendrine was detected by GC-MS. The potential chemotaxonomic value of the alkaloid content is explored. Cytotoxic activity has been determined for both alcoholic extract and isolated compounds.

      • Variant Alleles in XRCC1 Arg194Trp and Arg399Gln Polymorphisms Increase Risk of Gastrointestinal Cancer in Sabah, North Borneo

        Background: The XRCC1 protein facilitates various DNA repair pathways; single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in this gene are associated with a risk of gastrointestinal cancer (GIC) with inconsistent results, but no data have been previously reported for the Sabah, North Borneo, population. We accordingly investigated the XRCC1 Arg194Trp and Arg399Gln SNPs in terms of GIC risk in Sabah. Materials and Methods: We performed genotyping for both SNPs for 250 GIC patients and 572 healthy volunteers using a polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism approach. We validated heterozygosity and homozygosity for both SNPs using direct sequencing. Results: The presence of a variant 194Trp allele in the Arg194Trp SNP was significantly associated with a higher risk of GIC, especially with gastric and colorectal cancers. We additionally found that the variant 399Gln allele in Arg399Gln SNP was associated with a greater risk of developing gastric cancer. Our combined analysis revealed that inheritance of variant alleles in both SNPs increased the GIC risk in Sabah population. Based on our etiological analysis, we found that subjects ${\geq}50years$ and males who carrying the variant 194Trp allele, and Bajau subjects carrying the 399Gln allele had a significantly increased risk of GIC. Conclusions: Our findings suggest that inheritance of variant alleles in XRCC1 Arg194Trp and Arg399Gln SNPs may act as biomarkers for the early detection of GIC, especially for gastric and colorectal cancers in the Sabah population.

        The Effect of Warning Labels on Cigarette Packages: Textual vs. Textual-Visual and Self-Efficacy

        The small number of fusion research that addresses fear-appeal and self-efficacy in the effectiveness of warning labels cause the label is not clear, then the purpose of the study is the first to examine the effect of the combination of the message. With the experimental method, a total of 240 participants were smokers consist of Indonesian university students in the age range 18-23 years. Data obtained then processed with ANOVA statistical methods and Test T. The results are consistent with previous studies that the visual warning labels more effective than the textual warning labels alone. Results also suggest that a warning label should be both visual and textual messages combined with self-efficacy. Limitations, this study does not differentiate among smokers and non-smokers, in addition to the images are used only one type of disease, so that the research needs to be done to distinguish these factors.

      • Seismic behavior of RC columns internally confined by CFRP strips

        During past decades fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) sheets have been externally bonded to structural elements to increase their axial, shear, or bending capacity. FRP bars also have been widely used to replace the steel reinforcements in columns subjected to a harsh environment. In this study, carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) strips were used as the transverse reinforcement for concrete columns. Although FRP bars have already been used as the transverse reinforcement in concrete columns, the efficiency and feasibility of CFRP strips have not been investigated. CFRP strips are flexible; therefore, they can be easily shaped as spirals to confine the concrete core of columns. The efficiency of CFRP strips for the confinement of the concrete core was examined through a series of quasi-static cyclic tests on four full-scale columns that had similar size and longitudinal reinforcements. One of the columns was selected as the reference, and steel spirals transversally reinforced it. CFRP strips transversally reinforced the other three columns with different widths and spacing. The obtained results showed that the number of cracks in the CFRP-confined columns was less than the reference column. The length of cracks in the CFRP-confined columns was also relatively shorter. Besides, the CFRP-confined columns had a larger ultimate load, effective yield strength, and displacement ductility ratio compared with the reference column.

      • Phenyl-rich silicone oil as a precursor for SiOC anode materials for long-cycle and high-rate lithium ion batteries

        <▼1><P>Silicon oxycarbide (SiOC) is gaining increasing attention as a promising anode material for lithium ion batteries due to its higher reversible capacity compared to incumbent graphite.</P></▼1><▼2><P>Silicon oxycarbide (SiOC) is gaining increasing attention as a promising anode material for lithium ion batteries due to its higher reversible capacity compared to incumbent graphite. The kinetic processes at a SiOC anode result in rapid capacity fading even at a relatively low current density, thereby hindering its commercialization. Herein, a distinctive, phenyl-rich silicone oil is used as a precursor for producing SiOC anode materials <I>via</I> simple pyrolysis. We find that only silicone oil with phenyl-rich rings can be converted into SiOC materials. The phenyl group was crucial for carbon incorporation to allow Si–O–C bonding and the formation of a free-carbon phase. The resulting SiOC anode exhibited stable cyclability up to 250 cycles, with a discharge capacity of 800 mA h g<SUP>−1</SUP> at a current density of 200 mA g<SUP>−1</SUP>. The remarkable cycle performance of SiOC was correlated with its low dimensional expansion (7%) during lithiation, which maintains its structure over cycling. Rate capability tests showed a highly stable performance with a maximum discharge capacity of 852 mA h g<SUP>−1</SUP> at a current density of 100 mA g<SUP>−1</SUP>. When the discharge current density was increased 64-fold, the reversible capacity of the SiOC anode was 90% of its maximum capacity, 772 mA h g<SUP>−1</SUP>. The excellent electrochemical performance of SiOC could be attributed to the rapid mobility of Li<SUP>+</SUP> within the SiOC matrix, as indicated by a Li<SUP>+</SUP> diffusion coefficient of 5.1 × 10<SUP>−6</SUP> cm<SUP>2</SUP> s<SUP>−1</SUP>.</P></▼2>

        Performance Comparison of Machine Learning Algorithms for Received Signal Strength-Based Indoor LOS/NLOS Classification of LTE Signals

        An indoor navigation system that utilizes long-term evolution (LTE) signals has the benefit of no additional infrastructure installation expenses and low base station database management costs. Among the LTE signal measurements, received signal strength (RSS) is particularly appealing because it can be easily obtained with mobile devices. Propagation channel models can be used to estimate the position of mobile devices with RSS. However, conventional channel models have a shortcoming in that they do not discriminate between line-of-sight (LOS) and non-line-of-sight (NLOS) conditions of the received signal. Accordingly, a previous study has suggested separated LOS and NLOS channel models. However, a method for determining LOS and NLOS conditions was not devised. In this study, a machine learning-based LOS/NLOS classification method using RSS measurements is developed. We suggest several machine-learning features and evaluate various machinelearning algorithms. As an indoor experimental result, up to 87.5% classification accuracy was achieved with an ensemble algorithm. Furthermore, the range estimation accuracy with an average error of 13.54 m was demonstrated, which is a 25.3% improvement over the conventional channel model.
