Objective This study was aimed to compare immunohistochemical expression of estrogen receptor (ER)-α, progesterone receptor (PR), and calponin in gonadotrophin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRH-a)-sensitive and -resistant uterine fibroids. Methods We collected data retrospectively. The sensitive group consisted of women who had reduction in uterine volume greater than 40% following GnRH-a treatment. Uterine volume was either reduced by less than 10%, or was increased in the resistant group. A tissue microarray was constructed using formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues, 31 and 26 patients for the sensitive and resistant groups, respectively. Tissue sections were immunostained with antibodies against ER-α, PR, and calponin. The intensity and area of the immunohistochemical reactions were evaluated using a semi-quantitative scoring system. The Mann-Whitney U-test, Fisher`s exact test, and Spearman`s rank correlation test were used for analysis of data. Results PR ( P = 0.04) and calponin ( P = 0.03) showed a significantly higher staining intensity in the resistant group than in the sensitive group. Both groups showed comparable expression of ER-α ( P = 0.23). In correlation analysis between changes in uterine volume after GnRH-a therapy and clinicopathological factors, the immunohistochemical intensity of PR ( P = 0.04) and calponin ( P = 0.03) was significantly correlated with changes in uterine volume. Conclusion This study shows that GnRH-a resistance of uterine fibroids is not related to ER-α content, but the expression of PR and calponin is related with GnRH-a resistance.

이 연구는 우리나라 교육정책 연구 성과를 데이터베이스화여 연구자들이 수시로 관련정보들을 검색ㆍ활용할 수 있는 시스템을 구축하고 그를 효율화할 수 있는 방안을 제시하기 위하여 수행되었다. 이에 따라 이 연구에서는 우선 지난 50년간 이루어진 교육정책 연구결과, 즉, 정부와 학술연구기관의 연구보고서, 학술지 게재 논문, 단행본, 교육 관련 단체 및 기관의 보고서 등을 수집하여 연구자들이 효과적으로 검색ㆍ활용할 수 있도록 DB 시스템을 설계ㆍ구축하고 이들 자료를 가공하여 입력하였다. 따라서 교육정책 연구자들은 이 연구를 통해 구축된 교육정책연구정보DB시스템을 활용하여 연구자들이 우리나라 교육정책 연구결과를 영역, 주제, 대상, 시기 등으로 구분하여 찾을 볼 수 있고, 특정한 교육정책 연구의 목적, 내용, 방법, 결과 등을 개괄적으로 파악할 수 있다. 향후 시스템을 보다 보완하여 효율화한다면 웹상에서도 우리나라 교육정책 연구를 개괄적으로 확인하고 그 연구동향을 파악할 수 있는 중요한 기반이 될 수 있을 것이다. It is aimed to suggest the way of the efficient application and construction of the data base system, which has been integrated processed and preserved with the related information to the educational political research, which can be used to various consumers as their demands. Thus, this has been researched and confirmed with the educational political resources and informations for the construction of the DB system based on the various journals and researches published by the government institutions, the related academic societies and the educational institutions for the last 50 years. The definite reports have been classified by the subjects and the functions named with the characteristic codes each, and also have been input into the data table with the informational records and the instructional resources of each research. As a result, it is constructed the appropriated educational political research DB system for the internet environment that could be supplied through the homepage of Korea Education Development Institute(KEDI) and Korea Research Institute for School Education(KoRISE). It is surely approached that the efficient uses of this research can be useful to activate the development of the establishment of the educational policy and its research.

The purpose of this study was to compare the moment and power of affected side and those of unaffected side during gait in hemiplegic patients after stroke. Force plate and kinetic gait analysis was used. The following is resulted from this study. 1. In the hip joint, moment values had not difference between affected side and unaffected side. Power values had difference between affected and unafected side. 2. In the knee joint, moment values and power values had difference between affected side and unaffected side. 3. In the ankle joint, moment and power values had not difference between affected side and unaffected side.

Effects of radiation on thermal and mechanical properties of modified, hydrogenated bisphenol-A type and novolac type epoxy resin based shielding materials have been investigated. The onset temperature of KNS-201 and KNS-301 has been increased with increase in the radiation dose, but that of KNS-501 and KNS-601 has been decreased at radiation dose. Also the thermal stability of shielding material of KNS-601 has been affected less than that of KNS-201 by radiation. At radiation dose up to 0.1 MGy, the tensile strength and flexural strength of the shielding material of KNS-301 and KNS-501 has been increased with increase in the radiation dose. In contrast, that of KNS-201 has been decreased with increase in the radiation dose.

The Internet is an important tool in contemporary society. This study was carried out to investigate current use of internet and to suggest effective development of it in the field of physical therapy. A sample of physical therapy members in the internet responded to the questionare by means of e-mail from 26, April to 14, May, 1999. Of the 98 subjects, 26 completed the questionnaire, a response rate of 26.53%. The results were as follows. The most important problem to use internet in the field of physical therapy was poor information and abscence of database. The exchange of information among members, search database, virtual lecture system and distance treatment counseling in the future were expected. Ail members, professors of university and college, physical therapists in clinic and students must cooperate to construct database and useful information.

In this study, to obtain basic data for the shape design of the safety plate that is used in the battery section of underwater vehicle, we carried out the structure analysis and pressure tests about it. The safety plate is the important part that prevents the breakage of a underwater moving body by the pressure increase inside that. The safety plate must holds pressure outside and inside of a moving body and clear up pressure increase by the burning of a battery section inside it. So, to design the shape of a safety plate is satisfied these conditions, we carried out structure analysis and pressure tests and designed and applied these results to the shape design of the safety plate these results.
