가압경수로형 원자로의 원자로압력용기 상부헤드에는 많은 제어봉구동장치(CRDM) 노즐이 분포한다. 최근 10 여 년 동안 제어봉구동장치 alloy 600 CRDM 노즐에서 균열 발생 사례가 증가하고 있으며, 이는 용접과 연관성이 매우 깊은 것으로 알려져 있다. CRDM 노즐에서 발생하는 축 및 원주방향 균열은 유럽과 미국의 원자력 발전소에서 발견되었으며, 사고의 원인은 용접 잔류응력 및 작용하중에 기인하는 일차수응력부식균열(PWSCC)임이 확인되었다. 이러한 이유로 본 연구에서는 유한요소해석을 통해 한국형 원자로의 CRDM 관통 노즐 용접부를 대상으로 용접 잔류응력을 예측하였으며, 특히, 관통노즐의 위치와 형상, 용접부 필렛 형상 및 인접노즐 용접에 의한 영향을 분석하였다. In pressurized water reactors (PWRs), the reactor pressure vessel (RPV) upper head contains numerous control rod drive mechanism (CRDM) nozzles. In the last 10 years, the incidences of cracking in alloy 600 CRDM nozzles and their associated welds has increased significantly. Several axial and circumferential cracks have been found in CRDM nozzles in European PWRs and U.S. nuclear power plants. These cracks are caused by primary water stress corrosion cracking (PWSCC) and have been shown to be driven by welding residual stresses and operational stresses in the weld region. Therefore, detailed finite-element (FE) simulations for the Korea Nuclear Reactor Pressure Vessel have been conducted in order to predict the magnitudes of the weld residual stresses in the tube materials. In particular, the weld residual stress results are compared in terms for nozzle location, geometry factor r<sub>o</sub>/t, geometry of fillet, and adjacent nozzle.
국내 청금강 앵무새(Ara ararauna)에서 psittacine beak and feather disease virus 최초 검출

A eight-month-old blue and yellow macaw (Ara ararauna) with psittacine beak and feather disease (PBFD)-suspected signs, such as, abnormal feather, depression and diarrhea, was presented to Animal Disease Intervention Center, Kyungpook National University in 16 April 2014. The partial ORF V1 gene of PBFD virus (PBFDV) was detected by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) from DNA templates extracted from feather, blood and cloacal swab sample of the bird, but no other viral DNAs that often infected in psittacine birds including avian bornavirus and avian polyomavirus were detected from the samples of the bird, indicating this case is due to single infection of PBFDV. Nucleotide sequence analysis of the amplified partial ORF V1 gene was confirmed to have 96.7% and 93.6% homology with that of previously reported PBFDV strain (Genbank no. HM748924 and FJ685980). This report describes the first detection of PBFDV in PBFD-suspected blue and yellow macaw in Korea.
S-band Traveling-Wave Deflecting Structures for the PAL-XFEL

We designed a 20-MV S-band traveling-wave de ecting structure to measure the bunch length of the electron beams for the PAL-XFEL. Since the start of commissioning of all RF systems of the PAL-XFEL on 12 April 2016, two out of three fabricated structures are currently being operated; one each in the hard X-ray and the soft X-ray branches. These de ecting structures were carefully tuned by using a 4-m-long nodal phase scanner in a precisely temperature and humidity controlled cleanroom considering the phase predictions calculated using RF field solvers. We carried out RF conditioning and beam commissioning with highly-stable high-power S-band RF systems and an EPICS-based control system. We brie y present our design of S-band de ecting structure and discuss the test results, including the results of the RF and the beam measurements.
Development of Automatic Region Segmentation Methods For Brain MR Images

The purpose of the present research was to evaluate an automatic brain-region division system as a first step to comparative and quantitative brain MR analysis. Separating brain regions has been used for a long time to get certain goal-directed information from MR images. Without an automatic system, many researchers have to spend time for the laborious work. During the process, the users' intervention often hampers objectivity and could bias the results. As a method to divide brain regions automatically from MR brain images, we suggest that brain masks and iterative selection algorithm give excellent results.

In the side of visual, a shadowed area is one of the most important factors for understanding an object of the three-dimensional space. When an object is rendered for visualization, the rasterization is performed by an operation of geometric factors. For its reality, we can express a three-dimensional effect of the divided object into two parts like a bright area and a dark area by adding a light model with operating geometrical factors. Of the widely used light models, The Phong-Blinn model is highly efficient and easily embodied. However, it did not well express when applying the bump mapping to the formed object with polygon. To solve above-mentioned problem, we study that how enhance visibility of the shadow area and quality about the object's space. For this purpose we propose the expanded Phong-Blinn model(EPB).
