        Anti-Corrosion Coatings for Protecting Nb-Based Alloys Exposed to Oxidation Environments: A Review

        Nb-based alloys are regarded as a vital high temperature structural material. Unfortunately, the low oxidation resistance ofthe alloys limits their application under aerobic conditions at high temperature. Surface coating technology is considered tobe an ideal method to solve this problem. This paper reviewed recent progress on silicide coatings on Nb and Nb-based alloy,and focused on different types of modification techniques. The microstructure, phase composition and oxidation propertiesof various silicified coatings are analyzed. The effects of modified elements and second phase on the oxidation mechanismof silicide coatings are also summarized. Finally, the existing problems and future development direction of various silicidecoatings are pointed out.

        Spatial and Temporal Variability of Drought and Precipitation Using Cluster Analysis in Xinjiang, Northwest China

        Analyses of drought and precipitation require long-term historical data and reasonable drought index to ensure reliable monitoring and prediction, especially for the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, where is sensitive and vulnerable to drought disasters. Drought characteristic was expressed using the observational precipitation data and calculated precipitation threshold at 105 meteorological stations from 1979 to 2014. The results showed that the variation of drought and precipitation was not spatially uniform. Analysis in sub-areas was conducted based on mutli-statistical methods. The historical drought and precipitation situation in Xinjiang is better characterized by three clusters. Cluster 1 is the driest, cluster 2 has a clear increasing trend of precipitation, while cluster 3 is the wettest with the mean annual precipitation approximates to 300 mm. In addition, the precipitation concentration and distribution is becoming uniform, there is a faster rate of increasing precipitation in coolseason rather than in warm-season. The results provide critical support for the drought disasters management and mitigation, it also provide a base for in-depth investigation on the possible mechanisms of regional drought.

        Guangxi cobra venom-derived NGF promotes the osteogenic and therapeutic effects of porous BCP ceramic

        Neuro-osteological interactions have an important role in the regulation of bone metabolism and regeneration. Neuropeptides combined with porous biphasic calcium phosphates (BCP) using protein adsorption may contribute to the acceleration of bone formation. In the present study, we investigated the effect of BCP combined with nerve growth factor (NGF) on the growth of osteoblasts in vitro and the combinational therapeutic effect on the repair of calvarial defects in vivo. NGF was separated and purified from Chinese cobra venom using a simplified three-step chromatography method. BCP combined with NGF exerted a potent effect on osteoblast differentiation, as evidenced by enhanced cell proliferation, increased ALP activity and the upregulated expression of osteogenesis-related genes and proteins. Further, combinational therapy with BCP and NGF improved calvarial regeneration, which was superior to treatment with therapy alone, as observed using imageological and morphological examination and histological and immunohistochemical staining. The results confirmed the effect of neuro-osteological interactions through combinatorial treatment with NGF and BCP to promote osteogenesis and bone formation, which may provide an effective and economical strategy for clinical application.

        Influence of Internet-based Social Big Data on Personal Credit Reporting

        With the advent of the era of big data, the connotation of Credit investigation in China has gradually shifted from traditional data to social big data. The sources of credit data are not limited to traditional data, such as credit data; It also includes data on network behavior based on Internet transactions. The scene of credit investigation also extends from the financial industry to economic and social life. Based on the traditional credit analysis model, this paper puts forward a new network behavior credit analysis model by replacing "mortgage" with "social". Through data collection, data model, data service and other links, this paper proves that big data of network behavior can cover all credit investigation elements and can be used as a data source for personal credit analysis, with very high integrity. Among them, social network big data is a very important data source and occupies a high weight. This paper adopts the information research method, collects, processes and collates the social network big data, personal credit investigation and other information, constructs the "5C" credit analysis method of network behavior, and studies the personal credit investigation of the social network big data by combining the examples of Domestic Internet giants Tencent and Ali, and adopts the tabling method and cobweb map, etc. The network behavior credit analysis model proposed in this paper makes full use of the big data of social network to promote the development of personal credit investigation business and provides meaningful and valuable Suggestions for the government and industry.

        The potential role of COX-2 in cancer stem cell-mediated canine mammary tumor initiation: an immunohistochemical study

        Increasing evidence suggests that cancer stem cells (CSCs) are responsible for tumor initiation and maintenance. Additionally, it is becoming apparent that cyclooxygenase (COX) signaling is associated with canine mammary tumor development. The goals of the present study were to investigate COX-2 expression patterns and their effect on CSC-mediated tumor initiation in primary canine mammary tissues and tumorsphere models using immunohistochemistry. Patterns of COX-2, CD44, octamer-binding transcription factor (Oct)-3/4, and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) expression were examined in malignant mammary tumor (MMT) samples and analyzed in terms of clinicopathological characteristics. COX-2 and Oct-3/4 expression was higher in MMTs compared to other histological samples with heterogeneous patterns. In MMTs, COX-2 expression correlated with tumor malignancy features. Significant associations between COX-2, CD44, and EGFR were observed in low-differentiated MMTs. Comparative analysis showed that the levels of COX-2, CD44, and Oct-3/4 expression varied significantly among TSs of three histological grades. Enhanced COX-2 staining was consistently observed in TSs. Similar levels of staining intensity were found for CD44 and Oct-3/4, but EGFR expression was weak. Our findings indicate the potential role of COX-2 in CSC-mediated tumor initiation, and suggest that COX-2 inhibition may help treat canine mammary tumors by targeting CSCs.

      • Enhance photoelectric efficiency of PV by optical-thermal management of nanofilm reflector

        Crystalline silicon photovoltaic cells have advantages of zero pollution, large scale and high reliability. A major challenge is that sunlight wavelength with photon energy lower than semiconductor band gap is converted into heat and increase its temperature and reduce its conversion efficiency. Traditional cooling PV method is using water flowing below the modules to cool down PV temperature. In this paper, the idea is proposed to reduce the temperature of the module and improve the energy conversion efficiency of the module through the modulation of the solar spectrum. A spectrally selective nanofilm reflector located directly on the surface of PV is designed, which can reflect sunlight wavelength with low photon energy, and even enhance absorption of sunlight wavelength with high photon energy. The results indicate that nanofilm reflector can reduce spectral reflectivity integral from 9.0% to 6.93% in 400~1100 nm wavelength range, and improve spectral reflectivity integral from 23.1% to 78.34% in long wavelength range. The nanofilm reflector can reduce temperature of PV by 4.51℃ and relatively improved energy conversion efficiency of PV by 1.25% when solar irradiance is 1000 W/m<sup>2</sup>. Furthermore, the nanofilm reflector is insensitive in sunlight's angle and polarization state, and be suitable for high irradiance environment.

        Mechanical properties and microstructure of mullite modified zirconia ceramic for dental applications

        Objectives: The aim of this study tried to find an appropriate addition of mullite to modify zirconia in order to improve the shortcomings of zirconia for clinical applications. Methods: 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50% (on weight basis) mullite modified zirconia (MDZ) were fabricated.The hardness,fracture toughness and elastic modulus were tested on specimens prepared through respective methods. Results: The flexural strength, hardness and elastic modulus of these five groups decreased with an increase in the percentage of mullite, which may be ascribed to the increasing presence of a glassy phase. The fracture toughness of the 30% mullite content showed a similar result with the 10% group. Conclusions: In general, an increase in the content of mullite is accompanied with a decrease of the strength and fracture toughness. The MDZ with a 10% content of mullite presents better mechanical properties and a better comprehensive clinical performance may be expected from.

        Investigation of a new 3Y-stabilized zirconia with an improved optical property for applications as a dental ceramic

        To study the mechanical and optical properties of a new nanocrystalline yttria-stabilized zirconia (PX242A Tosoh Japan). The influence of heating rates on its properties and its potential use as a dental ceramic were also evaluated. Samples of PX242A were divided into 4 groups according to heating rates : group H1 (100oKh−1); group H2 (200oKh−1); group H4 (400oKh−1);group H6 (600oKh−1). Group H0 (3Y-SBE Tosoh Japan) was made according to the manufacturer’s recommendation as a control. The contrast ratio (CR), transparency parameter (TP) and total transmittance (TT) were measured by an Xrite spectrophotometer. The flexural strength and fracture toughness were also evaluated. The flexural strength and fracture toughness were found to be independent of the heating rate while the optical properties significantly increased when the heating rates were 600oKh−1, 200oKh−1 and 400oKh−1, but were not significantly different with 100oKh−1. A heating rate of 600oKh−1 is suggested as a time efficiency protocol, because it could provide desirable mechanical and optical properties,making zirconia suitable for clinical use.
