      • CONSTRUCTING MULTIDIMENSIONAL CUBE FROM XML SOURCE DATA USING RELATIONAL DATABASE SYSTEM

        This research proposed a mechanism constructing multidimensional cubes from a large volume of WWW(World-wide Web) source data. Multidimensional cubes are popular structures for OLAP(On-Line Analytical Processing) processing. In relational databases, these multidimensional cubes are usually represented by star schema which consists of a fact table and a set of dimension tables surrounding the fact table. In this paper, we investigated a method for designing star schema from web source data expressed in XML, which is being used as a standard representing information on WWW applications. Based on the obtained star schema, we construct a multidimensional cube (i.e., an instance of the star schema) from XML documents automatically, which can be used for users' multidimensional analyses by using OLAP tools. Therefore, the proposed mechanism can help users to derive star schema from XML source data in the Internet easily and analyzing them over various dimensions effectively.

        일반아동과 발달지체아동간의 상황과제 수행 수준 차이에 관한 비교 연구

        The purpose of this study is to examine differences in physical and social situational knowledge and story telling ability between children who have developmentally delay and who are normally functional and then determine whether such knowledges changes in accordance with age. To answer these questions, the researchers used 20 children with developmental delay who were 7 years old, 60 normal children aged between 4 and 7 as subjects. Picture cards showing 6 physical and 6 social situations which could happen in daily life were used to measure childrens situational knowledge and story telling ability. The children were asked to arrange 4 of the cards in causal sequence and then verbally express situations shown in the ordered materials. Furthermore, the subjects were interviewed by the researcher on one to one basis.   The followings are results of this study. First, physical situation knowledge of children with developmental delay was not significant different from that of normal children aged 4 in the measure of cards arrangement and verbal expression, while their knowledge was significant different from that of normal children aged 5 and 7.   Secondly, social situation knowledge of children with developmental delay was not significant different from that of normal children aged 4 in the measure of cards arrangement and verbal expression, while their social situation knowledge was significant different from that of normal children aged 5 and 7.

      • Rational Perturbation of the Fluorescence Quantum Yield in Emission‐Tunable and Predictable Fluorophores (Seoul‐Fluors) by a Facile Synthetic Method Involving CH Activation

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Fluorescence imaging enables the uniquely sensitive observation of functional‐ and molecular‐recognition events in living cells. However, only a limited range of biological processes have been subjected to imaging because of the lack of a design strategy and difficulties in the synthesis of biosensors. Herein, we report a facile synthesis of emission‐tunable and predictable Seoul‐Fluors, 9‐aryl‐1,2‐dihydrolopyrrolo[3,4‐<I>b</I>]indolizin‐3‐ones, with various R<SUP>1</SUP> and R<SUP>2</SUP> substituents by coinage‐metal‐catalyzed intramolecular 1,3‐dipolar cycloaddition and subsequent palladium‐mediated CH activation. We also showed that the quantum yields of Seoul‐Fluors are controlled by the electronic nature of the substituents, which influences the extent of photoinduced electron transfer. On the basis of this understanding, we demonstrated our design strategy by the development of a Seoul‐Fluor‐based chemosensor <B>20</B> for reactive oxygen species that was not accessible by a previous synthetic route.</P>

        Pyrolysis behaviors of deacetylated poly(ethylene-<i>co</i>-vinyl acetate) depending on pyrolysis temperature

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Pyrolysis behaviors of poly(ethylene-<I>co</I>-vinyl acetate) (EVA) depending on pyrolysis temperature were investigated. EVA was pre-pyrolyzed at 400 °C to remove acetic acid before main pyrolysis. The deacetylated EVA was pyrolyzed at 550–800 °C and variations of the major pyrolysis products with the pyrolysis temperature were examined. The major pyrolysis products were alkanes, alkenes, alkadienes, and cyclic compounds including aromatic species. Most of the major pyrolysis products increased as the pyrolysis temperature increased except for the alkanes. Relative abundances of the alkadienes and aromatic compounds were notably increased by increasing the pyrolysis temperature. By increasing the pyrolysis temperature, relative intensity ratios of butadiene/1-butene and styrene/1-butene linearly increased whereas those of cycloheptadiene (or vinylcyclopentene)/1-butene and vinylcyclohexene/1-butene linearly decreased. From Arrhenius plots for the principal pyrolysis products, relative activation energies for the formations of butadiene, cycloheptadiene (or vinylcyclopentene), vinylcyclohexene, and styrene were obtained. Pyrolysis behaviors of the deacetylated EVA were explained by formation mechanisms including ethylene-vinyl acetate heterosequence and dehydrogenation reactions.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Pyrolysis behaviors of deacetylated EVA depending on pyrolysis temperature were investigated. </LI> <LI> By increasing the pyrolysis temperature, intensity ratios of butadiene/1-butene and styrene/1-butene linearly increased. </LI> <LI> Relative intensities cycloheptadiene and vinylcyclohexene compared to 1-butene decreased by increasing the temperature. </LI> <LI> Relative activation energies for the formations of principal pyrolysis products were obtained using Arrhenius plots. </LI> </UL> </P>

        Objective: 본 에코디자인 사례집 개발은 여러 분야에 걸친 에코디자인 제품의 특징을 분석하여 제품별 사례를 소개하고 친환경 제품에 대한 학생과 일반인들의 지식 기반을 넓히고자 수행되었다. Background: 우리 생활에 있어서 환경문제의 중요성과 관심이 높아지고 있는 가운데 에코(Eco)는 인간과 자연이 공존하기 위한 필수불가결의 전략이 되고 있다. 정부도 녹색 상품과 녹색 기업에 대한 지원을 강화하고 녹색기술의 연구개발을 장려하고 있으며, 친환경 상품의 소비와 구매를 촉진하기 위한 환경마크와 탄소성적표지제도를 운영하고 있다. 기업과 연구기관들 역시 제품의 설계 및 생산에 청정생산체제와 전과정 평가를 적극적으로 활용하고 있고, 학계 또한 전문인력 양성과 에코디자인 연구, 관련 교재의 개발을 위해 힘쓰고 있다. Method: 본 사례집은 2011 년도 녹색성장박람회에 참가하였거나 조달청 등록된 다양한 분야의 친환경 에코 제품 사례 40 개를 선정하였다. 선정된 제품에 대한 정보는 제품을 생산 판매하고 있는 기업들의 동의를 받아 전화 및 이메일 인터뷰를 통해 수집하였고, 수집된 정보들 중 인증되지 않는 홍보성 내용은 제외하였다. 각 제품들은 용도에 따라 생활용품, 전자제품, 물사용 제품, 건축자재, 공공시설, 환경, 에너지의 7 개 분야로 분류하였고, 제품별로 제조사 현황, 제품 특징 및 특허를 중심으로 한 핵심 기술, 환경적 및 경제적 효과, 그리고 사용성 효과 측면으로 나누어 다루었다. Conclusion: 본 연구에서 개발된 에코디자인 제품 사례집은 학생들과 일반인들에게 친환경 제품들을 소개하고, 관련 기업에는 에코디자인 제품 개발에 참고할 수 있는 아이디어들을 제공할 수 있다. Application: 본 사례집은 기업들의 에코디자인 제품 개발 사례를 제공함으로써 국내 에코디자인 제품 개발의 현주소를 점검하고 기업들의 환경친화적인 제품 생산 방향 설정함에 있어 실용적으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

        연결 발화에서 나타난 경도인지장애군의 언어적 특징 분석

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to perform linguistic analysis using connected speech samples and to identify the linguistic characteristics that can differentiate the MCI group from the normal elderly. Method: A total of 20 (MCI 10 vs. Normal control 10) individuals participated in this study. We administered a picture description task to obtain the connected speech samples in both groups. Results: Speech fluency analysis showed that the MCI group had a significantly higher ratio of non-fluency types, such as interjection and revision, than the normal elderly. However, there were no significant differences in the ratios of lexical-syntactic and semantic domains between the MCI and normal elderly groups. Conclusion: The MCI group used more compensatory strategies to make up for their cognitive and linguistic deficits than the normal aging. This study is meaningful in identifying a linguistic analysis tool that can differentiate the MCI group from the normal elderly. 연구목적: 본 연구에서는 경도인지장애(Mild Cognitive Impairment, MCI) 집단과 정상 노년층을 대상으로 그림 설명하기 과제를 사용하여 연결 발화를 수집하고, MCI 집단의 언어적 특징을 확인하고자 하였다. 연구방법: 총 20명(MCI 10명, 정상 노년층 10명)의 대상자가 참여하였다. 연결 발화 샘플을 수집하기 위하여 그림 설명하기 과제를 실시하고, 수집된 발화를 모두 전사하여 분석에 사용하였다. 연구결과: 발화 유창성 분석 결과, MCI 집단은 간투사, 수정의 비유창성 비율이 유의하게 높은 반면에 반복의 비율에는 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 어휘-통사적 분석 결과, 두 집단 간 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 마지막으로, 의미적 분석 결과에서도 두 집단 간 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 결론: 본 연구는 MCI 집단을 정상 노년층으로부터 선별해낼 수 있는 언어적 분석 기준을 마련했다는 데 그 의의가 있다.

      • Fabrication and Characterization of Luminescence Film Sensor for Detecting Defects of Barrier Films

        <P>The most critical issue on flexible electronics such as organic solar-cell, OLEDs, and flexible display is the protection of the core active materials from the degradation by water and oxygen. The defect of barrier film is the main channel for the transmission of water and oxygen molecules. Herein, in order to monitor the defects of barrier films, we have developed anthracene boronic acid pinacol ester (ABAPE) sensor which is very sensitive to water vapor. When ABAPE film is exposed to water, it gives off fluorescence emission at 389 and 408 nm under excitation peak at 366 nm. Based on the fluorescence microscopy and SEM images, the optical method using the ABAPE sensor film can monitor the defects of barrier film smaller than 1 <I>μ</I>m. This result suggests that ABAPE can be utilized to monitor the defect and water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) in the barrier film.</P>
