Conflicts between individuals are quite natural and they can act as an positive contributing factor not only to the development of an individual but also to the organization to which one belongs. But too much conflicts will always induce dissatisfaction and stresses, which will be destructive and harmful to all of them, and that is why we are always tying to seek(find) out the causes for the origination of conflicts and remedies to cope with them effectively. The present study, as the first one in a series of studies which our researchers contemplate executing, was designed to develop a measure of job satisfaction for dental laboratory technicians. One job satisfaction measure and two job satisfaction related measures, one for faithfulness for the job and the other for environmental characteristics of dental laboratory were newly developed. The newly developed measures were comprised of a total of 38 items, which were each 12 items for job satisfaction and faithfulness for the job and 14 items for environmental characteristics of dental laboratory With the aid of factor analysis for principal components and categorization of items by panel of professionals, items of each measure were grouped into 2-4 subscales. Contribution to internal consistency was the fina) criterion for an item's inclusion in a subscale. Internal consistency reliability of each item was attested through the statistical analysis on the data obtained from 55 structured questionnaires. Reliability of internal consistency of subscales in each measure of job satisfaction and faithfulness for the job ranged from 0.74 to 0.79 and 0.90-0.91 respectively. The result from this research came to draw the following conclusions. 1. Validity and internal consistency reliability of all the items of each measure was attested. 2. The newly developed measure of job satisfaction was found to be appropriate for (measuring the degree of job satisfaction of) dental technicians, as well as for (other) dental office personnels.
국민참여포털의 운영실태 분석 : 참여마당신문고를 중심으로

정부는 그동안 국민참여 확대를 위한 다양한 사업을 지속적으로 추진하여 왔다. 특히 2006년 8월 정식서비스를 시작한 참여마당신문고는 행정기관 별로 운영되던 참여채널을 통합하여 국민참여를 위한 단일접점을 제공하는 세계최초의 국민참여포털로 국내뿐만 아니라 해외에서도 많은 관심과 주목을 받고 있다. 현재 참여마당신문고는 대규모 확대∙연계 사업 착수를 눈앞에 두고 있다. 이러한 시점에서 본 연구는 참여마당신문고의 국민참여, 포털, 시스템 운영 측면에서 운영실태를 분석하여 문제점을 도출하고 개선방안을 제시하였다. 분석결과 참여마당신문고는 시스템적으로 참여채널의 통합을 통해 국민참여포털의 구축에는 성공하였지만, 국민참여포털을 통해 실현하고자 하는 민원∙제안 처리의 효율성 제고, 대국민서비스 향상, 온라인상에서의 국민과의 의사소통 활성화를 구현하는 데에는 많은 문제점이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 참여마당신문고에 대한 지속적인 점검과 서비스 개선이 이루어져야 할것이며, 아울러 향후 추진되는 참여마당신문고의 3단계 사업에 있어서도 단순히 지방자치단체 및 공공기관 참여채널의 통합만이 아닌 국민참여 활성화와 현 운영과정의 문제점을 고려하여 이루어져야 할 것이다. The Korean government has initiated various activities to increase public participation. In particular, ‘Participation Networks Sinmoongo’is a government single face of integrating various public participation channels. Since Sinmoongo is a first public participation portal in the world, it has received many attentions from public agencies, the public and even foreign countries. Currently ‘Participation Networks Sinmoongo’is ready for large scale extension. The purpose of this study is to analyze the operation of ‘Participation Networks Sinmoongo’and suggest several operating directions for increasing public participation. The analysis has been done from three aspects of public participation, portal and system operation. The result shows that‘ Participation Networks Sinmoongo’is successful in constructing a government’s single face of public participation but has some problems in operating the system. ‘Participation Networks Sinmoongo’ needs to be more efficient in treating public suggestions and appeals, and puts more efforts on improving the quality of public services and activating online communications with the public. Before extending the number of public agencies to be integrated to ‘Participation Networks Sinmoongo’, the Korean government has to examine operational problems and fix them.
Enhancement of the anisotropic photocurrent in ferroelectric oxides by strain gradients

The phase separation of multiple competing structural/ferroelectric phases has attracted particular attention owing to its excellent electromechanical properties. Little is known, however, about the strain-gradient-induced electronic phenomena at the interface of competing structural phases. Here, we investigate the polymorphic phase interface of bismuth ferrites using spatially resolved photocurrent measurements, present the observation of a large enhancement of the anisotropic interfacial photocurrent by two orders of magnitude, and discuss the possible mechanism on the basis of the flexoelectric effect. Nanoscale characterizations of the photosensitive area through position-sensitive angle-resolved piezoresponse force microscopy and electron holography techniques, in conjunction with phase field simulation, reveal that regularly ordered dipole-charged domain walls emerge. These findings offer practical implications for complex oxide optoelectronics.
Deciphering the DNA methylation landscape of colorectal cancer in a Korean cohort

Aberrant DNA methylation plays a pivotal role in the onsetand progression of colorectal cancer (CRC), a disease with highincidence and mortality rates in Korea. Several CRC-associateddiagnostic and prognostic methylation markers have been identified;however, due to a lack of comprehensive clinical andmethylome data, these markers have not been validated in theKorean population. Therefore, in this study, we aimed to obtainthe CRC methylation profile using 172 tumors and 128 adjacentnormal colon tissues of Korean patients with CRC. Based onthe comparative methylome analysis, we found that hypermethylatedpositions in the tumor were predominantly concentratedin CpG islands and promoter regions, whereas hypomethylatedpositions were largely found in the open-sea region,notably distant from the CpG islands. In addition, we stratifiedpatients by applying the CpG island methylator phenotype(CIMP) to the tumor methylome data. This stratification validatedprevious clinicopathological implications, as tumors with highCIMP signatures were significantly correlated with the proximalcolon, higher prevalence of microsatellite instability status, andMLH1 promoter methylation. In conclusion, our extensive methylomeanalysis and the accompanying dataset offers valuableinsights into the utilization of CRC-associated methylation markersin Korean patients, potentially improving CRC diagnosis andprognosis. Furthermore, this study serves as a solid foundationfor further investigations into personalized and ethnicity-specificCRC treatments.

지방자치단체는 다양한 공공서비스를 민간에 위탁하여 운영하고 있으며, 이러한 현상은 지속적으로 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 본 연구는 전체 지방자치단체의 민간위탁 조사결과를 토대로 민간위탁 현황을 제시하고, 민간위탁 단계를 선정 및 계약, 운영, 성과평가로 구분하여 각각의 측면에서 민간위탁 운영실태를 분석하여 문제점을 도출하고 개선방안을 제시하였다. 분석결과 민간위탁 선정 및 계약 단계에서는 민간위탁 사업 입찰업체간 경쟁 부족과 민간위탁 위탁료 산정 기준 미흡이, 민간위탁 운영 단계에서는 서비스에 대한 지도 감독 부족과 체계적인 지도감독 미흡이, 민간위탁 성과 단계에서는 민간위탁 성과관리 미실시가 문제점으로 나타났다. 따라서 지방자치단체는 민간위탁을 통해 달성하고자 하는 비용 및 인력 절감과 서비스의 질적 제고와 같은 기대효과를 달성하기 위해서는 민간위탁 단계별 체계적인 관리가 이루어져야 하며, 특히 민간위탁 성과관리에 대한 적극적인 자세를 견지해야 할 것이다. The local governments have contracted out various public services, and this trend is expected to increase. This study is to show the present status of local government's contracting-out and analyze its operation. The analysis has been done based on three phases of contracting-out, which are selection & contract phase, operation phase, and performance evaluation phase. The results shows following problems in each phase; lack of competition and reasonable contracting-out cost calculation in the selection & contract phase, insufficient systematic monitoring in the operation phase, and inappropriate performance management in the performance evaluation phase. In order to solve these problems, local governments have to manage systematically each contracting-out phases and spend more efforts on performance management of contracting-out.
