        In this paper, spatial amplifier using wideband printed dipole antennas is proposed for spatial power combining. The input and output printed dipole antennas have wide bandwidth of 22 %(5.44 ㎓∼6.75 ㎓) and 26.3 %(5.2 ㎓∼6.78 ㎓), respectively. Gain of the designed amplifier is 9.5 ㏈ at 6 ㎓. As a result, the proposed spatial amplifier using wideband printed dipole antennas and amplifiers shows that the gain is 16.8 ㏈ at 6 ㎓ and 3-㏈ gain bandwidth is 1.04 ㎓.

        Molecules of the Tumor Necrosis Factor(TNA) Receptor and Ligand Superfamilies : Endless Stories

        Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor members have unique structures composed of 2-4 cysteine - rich pseudorepeats in the extracellular domain. On ligation by trimeric ligand molecules, oligomerization of three receptor molecules occurs, which in turn activates the receptor and recruits intracellular signaling molecules to the cytoplasmic tail to initiate biological events. Recently, the numbers of tumor necrosis factor receptor and ligand family members have been rapidly expanding. Functional characterization of the new members has indicated redundant roles with other known members as well as provided insights into novel functions. In particular, identification of soluble decoy receptors which have the ability to bind multiple ligands highlights a complex control mechanism of immune responses by these molecules. Studies of the new members have also revealed that the TNF receptor and ligand family members play an important role in other than the immune system.

        인천지역 소아 입원 환자의 엔테로바이러스 역학과 혈청형에 따른 임상양상 비교

        목적: 소아에서 엔테로바이러스 감염증은 무증상 감염부터 비특이적 발열성 질환, 수족구병, 수막뇌염등 다양한 질환으로 나타날 수 있다. 본 연구는 소아 입원 환자들을 대상으로 엔테로바이러스 감염의 유전자형 별 임상양상에 대하여 알아보고자 하였다. 방법: 2014년 3월부터 2015년 3월까지 인하대병원에 입원한 환자들 중 400명을 대상으로 real-time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR)로 엔테로바이러스를 검출하였으며, RT-seminested PCR로 혈청형을 분석하였다. 염기서열의 계통분석을 시행하여 neighbor-joining tree를 작성하였다. 결과: 전체 연구대상 400명 중 112명(28%)에서 엔테로바이러스 양성이 확인되었으며 엔테로바이러스 양성 환자의 평균연령은 2.66세(3일-14세), 남녀 성비는 1.73:1 이었다. 65개의 검체에서 엔테로 바이러스의 혈청형을 확인할 수 있었고, coxsackievirus B5 17례(15.2%), coxsackievirus A16 13례 (11.6%), enterovirus 71 10례(8.9%), coxsackievirus A2 9례(8.0%) 순이었다. 엔테로바이러스 양성 환자들 중 96명(86%)에서 비특이적 발열 증상이 있었으며, 0-11일의 다양한 발열기간을 나타냈고, 평균 발열기간은 3.13일이었다. 발진은 전체 양성환자 중 44명(39%)에서 나타났으며, 수막뇌염은 43명 (38%)에서 나타났다. 염기서열에 따른 계통 분석에서 6개의 유전적 군집이 관찰되었다. 결론: 저자들은 인천지역 단일기관에 입원한 환자에서 분리된 엔테로바이러스의 혈청형과 임상양상을 확인하였다. 본 연구 결과가 앞으로 국내 엔테로바이러스 감염의 역학을 파악하는 데에 도움을 줄 것으로 생각한다. Purpose: Enterovirus (EV) infection in children can manifest various diseases from asymptomatic infection to nonspecific febrile illness, hand-foot-mouth disease, and aseptic meningitis. This study was aimed to investigate epidemiology and clinical significance of various geno types of EV infections in pediatric inpatient. Methods: We collected the stool samples from the admitted pediatric patients in Inha University Hospital from March 2014 to March 2015. EV detection and genotype identification were performed by real-time RT-PCR and semi-nested RT-PCR. Phylogenetic trees were constructed by neighbor joining method. Results: A total of 400 samples were collected during study period and 112 patients (28%) were diagnosed with EV infections. The mean age of EV positive patients was 2.66 years (0.1-14) and sex ratio was 1.73:1. Genetic sequences of EVs were identified; coxsackievirus B5 (17, 15.2%), coxsackievirus A16 (13, 11.6%), enterovirus 71 (10, 8.9%), and coxsackievirus A2 (9, 8.0%). Nonspecific febrile illness (96, 86%) was the most common clinical manifestation and the duration of fever was 0-11 days (mean 3.1 days). Rash (44, 39%) and meningitis (43, 38%) were followed. Patients who were attending daycare center or had siblings accounted for 82.1%. Phylogenetic relationship tree re vealed 6 distinct genogroups among 56 types of EVs. Conclusions: This study is the report of epidemiology, serotype distribution and clinical manifestations of children with EV infection in Incheon. This data will be helpful for further study about the epidemiology of EV infection in Korea.

        Air-stable and ultrasensitive solution-cast SWIR photodetectors utilizing modified core/shell colloidal quantum dots

        InGaAs-based photodetectors have been generally used for detection in the short-wave infrared (SWIR) region. However, the epitaxial process used to grow these materials is expensive; therefore, InGaAs-based photodetectors are limited to space exploration and military applications. Many researchers have expended considerable efforts to address the problem of SWIR photodetector development using lead sulfide (PbS) quantum dots (QDs). Along with their cost-efficient solution processability and flexible substrate compatibility, PbS QDs are highly interesting for the quantum-size-effect tunability of their bandgaps, spectral sensitivities, and wide absorption ranges. However, the performance of PbS QD-based SWIR photodetectors is limited owing to inefficient carrier transfer and low photo and thermal stabilities. In this study, a simple method is proposed to overcome these problems by incorporating CdS in PbS QD shells to provide efficient carrier transfer and enhance the long-term stability of SWIR photodetectors against oxidation. The SWIR photodetectors fabricated using thick-shell PbS/CdS QDs exhibited a high on/off (light/dark) ratio of 11.25 and a high detectivity of 4.0 × 1012 Jones, which represents a greater than 10 times improvement in these properties relative to those of PbS QDs. Moreover, the lifetimes of thick-shell PbS/CdS QD-based SWIR photodetectors were significantly improved owing to the self-passivation of QD surfaces.

      • 우안의 시력 저하를 주소로 내원한 10세 여자에서 진단된 Clinically isolated 증후군 1례

        Clinically isolated 증후군은 염증성 탈수초가 원인으로 추정되는 중추신경계 증상이 급성으로 처음 발현하는 경우를 일컫는다. 이 때 뇌 또는 전척수 자기 공명 영상에서 무증상적 다발성 병변이 있을 경우 추후 다발성 경화증으로 진행될 가능성이 높아진다. 다발성 경화증은 시신경을 포함한 중추신경계의 여러 부위에 발생하는 탈수초성 질환으로 시간 간격을 두고 다양한 형태의 임상 양상을 보이며 호전과 재발을 반복하는 질환이다. 이 질환은 성인기에 주로 발병한다고 알려져 있으나 소아에서도 드물게 발생하며 발병 후 다양한 정도의 합병증 및 후유증을 남길 수 있다. 저자들은 우안의 시력 저하를 주소로 내원하여 시행한 자기 공명 영상 검사에서 중추신경계의 다발성 병변을 보여 clinically isolated syndrome (CIS)으로 진단된 1례를 경험하였고 이 경우 다발성 경화증으로 이행할 가능성이 있기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. A clinically isolated syndrome is a first acute clinical episode of CNS symptoms with a presumed inflammatory demyelinating cause for which there is no prior history of a demyelinating event. MRI evidence of multiple clinically silent lesions may be associated with an increased risk of multiple sclerosis. Multiple sclerosis is a demyelinating disorders that affects discrete areas of the CNS, including the optic nerve, in a quite variable relapsing-remitting fashion over a prolonged period of time. Although usually considered to be a disease that affects people in early to middle adulthood, children develop multiple sclerosis and may account for up to 4% to 5% of all reported cases. We present a case of clinically isolated syndrome in 10 year-old girl with decreased right visual acuity. She was admitted due to decreased unilateral visual acuity that known incidentally. We founded abnormal finding on brain and whole spine magnetic resonance imaging and treated her with steroid.
