        Misorientation Characteristics at the Growth Front of Abnormally-Growing Goss Grains in Fe–3%Si Steel

        Penetrating morphologies at the growth front of abnormally-growing Goss grains in Fe–3%Si steel was examined in view ofthe possibility that they are the two-dimensional section of the solid-state wetting (SSW) along the triple junction line. Toobtain the statistically meaningful data, 102 penetrated grain and 204 penetrating abnormally-growing Goss grain morphologieswere examined. The misorientation angles of penetrating and penetrated grains were measured by electron backscattereddiffraction. Among the 102 examined penetrated grain boundaries, none has low misorientation angles less than 15°,whereas 17.2% of the 204 penetrating grain boundaries have low misorientation angles, and 23.5% of them have coincidencesite lattice boundaries. Besides, boundary energies of penetrating Goss grains, which were estimated from misorientationangles of the three grains in the penetrating morphology, satisfied the energetic condition for SSW along the triple junctionline. These results imply that the abnormal grain growth of Goss grains in Fe–3%Si steel occurs by the mechanism of subboundaryenhanced SSW.

Preventive and Antioxidative Effects of Crude Drug Preparation(E-kong-san) on Cisplatin Induced Nephrotoxicity. Proceedings of International Symposium on East-West Medicine, Seoul. 201-211, 1999. -Nephroprotective effects of a crude drug-prearation (E-kong-san) were determined from cisplatin on rabbit kidney proximal tubule and human renal cortical cells by MTT assays and sustained glucose consumption on ciplatin-induced human renal cortical tissue. Levels of creatinine and blood ure nitrogen(BUN) in serum after administration of cisplatin(0.75mg/kg,i.p.) to E-kong-san(0.75g/kg/day,p.o.)-pretreated rats were markedly lower compared to those of cisplatin-treated rats. Moreover, the administration of E-kong-san significantly inhibited the loss of body weight of cisplatin injected rts. These findings suggest that E-kong-san on the cisplatin induced nephrotoxicity led us to investigate whether the effect of this water extract was a result of anti-oxidation. E-kong-san showed strong free radical scavenger activities on 1,1-dipheny1-2picrylhydrazil(DPPH) radical and xanthine/xanthine oxidase(XOD) generated superoxide anion radical(O2-). We further studied the effects of E-kong-san on lipid peroxidation in rat liver microsomes induced by enzymatic and nonenzymatic methods. E-kong-san exhibited significant inhibition on both ascorbic acid/Fe2+and ADP/NADPH/Fe3+ induced lipid peroxidation in rat liver microsomes. Based on these results, we suggest that-E-kong-san attenuate the cisplatin induced cytotoxicity and its mechanism can be eplained by antioxidant.

      • 소양호에서의 Alkaline Phosphatase 활성도의 Kinetics

        The kinetics of alkaline phosphatase activity were studied at the surface of a warm monomictic large reservoir, Lake Soyang, every two months from February 1988 to June 1989. Three sampling stations were located at the dam site, near a large netcage-type fishfarm, and a tributary stream inlet region where the dinoflagellate blooming occurs in warm seasons. Vmax of alkaling phosphatase, showing the range of 0.02∼5.95μ/M/l/hr, was high during the spring bloom, April and June, and low during the turnover time, October, December, and February.Kt + Sn, showing the range of 0.06∼31.0μ/M/l,was high during the turnoner time, which seems to be caused by the nutrients supply from the hypolimnion. Kt+Sn was much higher during turnover time at the fishfarm station than other stations, which is obviously resulting from the large amount of fecal deposition at the bottom and the diffusion of organic phosphorus upto the surface. Tt seems that at high density phytoplankton itself can be the substrate for alkaline phosphatase, since the peak time of Kt+Sn coincided with the peak of chlorophyll a concentration in the shallow stream inlet station where dinoflagellates aggregate.

      • 가정자로법에 의한 촉각궤환장치의 최적 설계

        원격조종로봇 시스템은 인간 활동 영역의~확대와 복지 증진에 의해 세계적으로 널리 사용되고 있다. 이 로봇을 인간이 보다 효율적으로 조종하기 위해서는 조종자가 마치 현장에 있는 것과 같은 가상 현실감을 느끼게 하는 것이 중요하다. 그러나 현재까지 조종자에게 촉각정보를 제공하는 촉각궤환장치는 효과적이지 못하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 더욱 정교하고 효과적인 작업을 할 수 있도록 하는 원격조종로봇용 촉각궤환장치를 최적화 기법을 이용하여 설계하고자 하였다. 먼저, 어레이 형태로의 제작이 가능하여 세밀한 촉각 정보를 궤환시켜 줄 수 있는 새로운 촉각궤환장치 기구(mechanism)를 제안하였다. 이 기구는 전자석의 흡인력을 이용한 것이라 손가락 피부에 부착할 만큼 충분히 소형, 경량이며, 연속적인 선형 제어가 용이하고, 단위 크기당 비교적 큰 힘을 낼 수 있으며, 사용시 부작용이 없는 특징을 갖고 있다. 최적설계에 있어서는 최적설계의 목적함수를 촉각인식기구의 고찰을 통해 구하였고, 외형의 기하하적 관계와 인가 전류에 의해 발생되어진 온도조건을 구속조건으로 삼아 가장 큰 촉각력을 발생시킬 수 있도록 최적 설계를 수행하였다. 촉각력 계산은 가정자로법과 FEM(finite element method)을 통해 구하였다. 최적화 결과는 이전 제작 샘플보다 24%의 향상이 있음을 알 수 있었다. In a teleoperation robot system, it is important for an operator to feel as if he really were in a distant place. To realize this objective, the various information from remote site must be presented to the operator. Even though tactile information is very important to execute the task efficiently, it is not yet sufficiently provided for the operator. In this paper, it is proposed the new mechanism which provides the more dexterous tactile information to an operator. This device utilizes the electromagnetic force, so that it is small and light enough to attach on the fingerpad. It can also be ontrolled continuously. The magnetic circuit is derived by the probable flux paths method, to solve the force at any given dimension. The object of optimization is to maximize the tactile force which human can perceive under same conditions. the objective function is formulated as maximizing indentation displacement on the fingerpad in consideration of the mechanism of human tactile perception. The optimization formulation is subjected to geometric constraint and the rising temperature constraint in the coil. As a result of optimization, 24 % increases in the tactile force are accomplished, compared with the initial design.

      • 캡슐 발효유에 의한 변비 개선

        유산균 발효유 중 캡슐 제제를 사용한 경우 변비 증세가 개선되는가를 확인하였다. 변비의 자각증세가 있는 20명에게 하루 2회씩 캡슐 제제가 포함된 유산균 발효유를 14일간 복용하게 하고, 복용 중단 후 14일간 배변 상태 등을 설문하였다. 그 결과 음용기간 중 변비가 상당히 개선된 경우는 13명(65%), 조금 개선된 경우는 5명(25%)로 총18명(90%)가 변비가 조금 이상 개선되었다. 또 음용 중단 이후를 관찰한 결과, 상당히 개선된 경우가 16명 (80%)이며, 조금 개선된 경우는 3명(15%)로 총 19명(95%)이 개선되었다. 또 변의 상태가 음용 전후와 비교하여 부드러워진 경우는 15명(75%)으로 나타났다. 음용 후 복부의 긴장감과 불쾌감은 초기에는 많이 나타났으나, 음용 후반기에 들어서면서 대부분의 실험자가 없다고 대답하였다. 이 조사에서 캡슐제제의 유산균 발효유는 변비 개선에 상당한 효과가 있으며, 음용 중단 후에도 2주간지속되는 것으로 나타났다. Evaluation of capsulated yogurt for bowels was carried out. To the twenty volunteers who has selfconsciousness of constipation, the two bottles of capsulated yogurt were applied daily for two weeks. By the results, totally 90% of volunteers replied that their constipation was loosing during the application and 95% after the 2 weeks of stopping the application.

      • 昭陽湖 赤湖 底質土 微生物學的 物質 分解에 관하여

        For elucidating the ecological functions of sediment and parts of carbon and phosphorus cycle, the degradation rates of organic phosphate, cellulose and cellobiose were estimated in the sediment of red tide area of Lake Soyang. The breakdown rates of cellulose ranged between 11.0~99.0%/month, and the major factor for breakdown was temperature. The range of cellobiose degradation rates was between 0.8~4.7%/hr, high in spring and low in summer. The organic phosphate degradation rates, showing the range of 16.4~40.4%/hr, were high in winter, just after the Peridinium blooming and spring.

      • 소양호에서 세균군집 크기에 미치는 폴랑크톤의 영향

        To scrutinize the biological effects of plankton communities to bacterial community, the total bacterial numbers, chlorophyll a concentration and phytoplankton, zooplankton communities were analyzed in Lake Soyang from May 13, to July 14, 1994. At 0m depth, total bacterial numbers positively coi-related with chlorophyll o concentration. On the other hand, at 2m depth, the two parameters had negative correlation. At the middle of the June, whe dominants of phytoplankton, zooplankton were changing, the bacterial numbers dropped down. These results suggest that as the Anabaena becoming dominant species, the some zooplankton species changed to bacterivore. The bacterial community was mainly effected by phytoplankton at 0m, and by zooplankton at 2m depth.

      • TiO₂ 졸-겔 코팅 막에 의한 Humic Acid의 광분해 : 화학적 산화법에 의한 부식산의 분해처리 기술에 관한 연구(Ⅱ);Characterization of Humic Acid in the Chemical Oxidation Treatment (Ⅱ)

        The degradation of humic acid using TiO₂ coatings studied. TiO₂ coatings were prepared by dip-coating method. Sol solutions for coating were prepared by mixing the gel, which can be produced by the reaction of TiOCl₂ and NH₁OH solution, and hydrogen peroxide solution, and hydrolysis of titanium tetraisopropoxide (TTIP). It was shown from SRD that coatings from sol aged at 100℃ for 18h with titanium peroxo solution were crystallized to anatase in the range of temperatures of 25℃ to 500℃. In contrast, those coated from TTIP were crystallized to anatase at temperature above 400℃. So the sols originated from TiCl₄ can be applied for not only on the heat-resistance substrates but on the plastic substrates. Thickness and the quality of the films were dependent on the withdrawing speed, the concentration of sol, and the number of coating. The films showed various interference colors depending on the thickness of them. In the case that the films coated 2 times at withdrawing speed of 2.5cm per minute by 0.2M sol, the films had a transparent light blue color with thickness of around 50nm. It was known from the result of photo-degradation by TiO₂ coatings using humic acid that the removal efficiency of COD_(cr) was over 85% after illumination of UV/H₂O₂ for 40min, and that of UV/VIS absorbable materials was over 95%. TiO₂코팅매체를 이용한 humid acid의 광분해 특성을 조사하였다. TiO₂코팅은 TiOCl₂ 수용액을 암모니아수로 침전시킨 겔을 과산화수소로 용해한 용액 혹은 졸이나 titanium tetraisopropoxide (TTIP)의 가수분해로부터 제조한 졸을 이용하여 dip-coating법으로 제조하였다. Titanium peroxo 용액을 열처리하여 제조한 졸을 이용한 코팅층은 X-선 회절 분석으로부터 25℃~500℃ 온도 범위에서 모두 anatase형 결정구조를 가지고 있었다. 반면에 TTIP의 가수분해로 생성된 졸로부터 만든 코팅막은 400℃ 이상에서 anatase의 결정형이 나타났다. 이로부터 titanium peroxo 용액을 열처리하여 제조한 졸은 내열성 및 비내열성 기판에도 결정성 TiO₂ 코팅층을 만들 수 있는 장점이 있다. 코팅막의 두께 및 균일성은 인출속도, 코팅졸의 농도 및 코팅 횟수에 영향을 받았으며, 코팅막의 두께에 따라 다양한 간접색상을 나타냈다. 0.2M 졸을 이용하여 인출속도 2.2cm/min로 2회 코팅했을 경우, 약 50nm 두께의 투명하면서도 균일한 흐린 남색을 띠는 TiO₂코팅막을 얻을 수 있었다. 이상의 방법으로 직경 0.3cm의 유리구슬에 TiO₂ 코팅막을 제조한 후 580cm³의 반응조를 사용하여 UV/H₂O₂ 공정으로 humic acid를 40분 동안 광반응시킨 결과, 초기 시료의 COD_(cr)(40ppm)을 약 85% 이상, 흡광물질을 약 95% 이상 제거하였다.

      • Castleman 질환 1례

        Castleman 질환은 주로 종격동 임파선을 침범하여 임상적, 조직학적으로 흉성종과 유사한 소견을 보이는 질환이다. 보통 침범된 임파선은 3cm에서 7cm의 크기를 보이며 경계가 뚜렷한 종양으로 나타난다. 조직학적 소견상 hyaline-vascular형(H-V형)과 plasma cell형의 두가지로 나눈다. 임상적으로는 hyaline-vascular형은 별증상이 없으며 보통 우연히 발견되고 드물게 기도와 기관지를 압박하는 증세를 보이기도 한다. plasma cell형은 빈혈, 적혈구침강속도의 증가, 고감마글로불린혈증, 저알부민혈증, 그리고 저트란스페린혈증을 보이기도 한다. 저자들은 생후 2개월부터 반복되는 호흡기 감염과 거친 숨소리를 보이면서, 성장 및 발육장애를 보인 14개월된 남아에서, 기도에서 우측 주기관지까지를 압박하고 있는 종양을 흉부 전산화단층촬영에서 발견하고 떼어낸 후 조직소견상 hyaline-vascular형의 giant lymph node hyperplasia의 소견을 보이는 Castleman 질환 1례를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다. Castleman's disease(angiofollicular lymph node hyperplasia) can arise from lymph nodes or extranodal tissues and can be classified histologically into the hyaline-vascular form, characterized by hyaline follicle-like structures interspersed with vascular tissue, or the plasma cell variant, in which the follicle-like structures are seperated by sheets of plasma cells amidst vascular interfollicular tissue. The clinical manifestations of the multicentric variant can be protean and inculude fever, night sweats, weight loss, lymphadenopathy, hepatosplenomegaly, pleural effusion, ascites, anemia, thrombocytopenia, polyclonal hypergammaglobulinemia, and neurological and renal abnormalities. We report a case of Castleman's disease in 14-month old male patient with the chief complaints of recurrent respiratory symptoms and delayed growth and development, who was diagnosed as having a hyaline-vascular form of above disease after the excision of pulmonary mass which compressed the right main bronchus.

      • Factor analysis of the environmental impact on microbial populations in Soynag Lake

        The factor analysis was applied to scrutinize the effects of environental factors on bacterial popolation in Soyang lake. For this purpose total 294 cases of 18 physico-chemical and 2 bacterial parameters were observed. The major parts of the variance of the heterotrophic bacteria were interpreted as "inorganic nitrogen" and "depletion of dissolved oxygen", and theat of the psychrophilic bacteria was as "depletion of dissolved oxygen". But the "season in summer" and "organic substance" and "phytoplankton blooming" were minor factors for two bacterial population.
