N/A Purpose: Normal aging results in detectable changes in the brain structure and function. We evaluated the changes of regional cerebral glucose metabolism in the normal aging process with FDG PET. Materials and Methods: Brain PET images were obtained in 44 healthy volunteers (age range 20-69 ‘y’: M:F = 29:15) who had no history of neuropsychiatric disorders. On 6 representative transaxial images, Rols were drawn in the cortical and subcortical areas. Regional FDG uptake was normalized using whole brain uptake to adjust for the injection dose and correct for nonspecific declines of glucose metabolism affecting all brain areas equally. Results: In the prefrontal, temporoparietal and primary sensorimotor cortex, the normalized FDG uptake (NFU) reached a peak in subjects in their 30s. The NFU in the prefrontal and primary sensorimotor cortex declined with age after 30s at a rate of 3.15%/decade and 1.93%/decade, I'6Spectively. However, the NFU in the temporoparietal cortex did not change significantly with age after 30s. The anterior (prefrontal) posterior (temporoparietal) gradient peaked in subjects in their 30s and declined with age thereafter at a rate of 2.35%/decade. The NFU in the caudate nucleus was decreased with age after 20s at a rate of 2.39%/decade. In the primary visual cortex, putamen, and thalamus, the NFU values did not change significantly throughout the ages covered. These patterns were not significantly different between right and left cerebral hemispheres. Of interest was that the NFU in the left cerebellar cortex was increased with age after 20s at a rate of 2.86%/decade. Conclusion: These data demonstrate regional variation of the age-related changes in the cerebral glucose metabolism, with the most prominent age-related decline of metabolism in the prefrontal cortex. The increase in the cerebellar metabolism with age might reflect a process of neuronal plasticity associated with aging. (Korean J Nucl Med 2001;35:231-240)

Samples of milk were collected from 425 halves of 216 dairy goats in Chonnam province over a period of January through August 2003. Bacterial isolation was carried out on those samples, and their antimicrobial susceptibility was tested. Bacteria were isolated from 166 milk samples (39.1%), either singly (74.7%) or in combination (25.3%). Of the 220 isolates, Staphylococcus spp. was the most prevalent (82.6%), followed by Streptococcus spp. (2.7%), Corynebacterium spp. (1.8%), Enterococcus spp. (1.8%), and Pasteurella spp. (1.8%). Of the 11 species identified from the 182 isolates of Staphylococcus spp., the most frequent species identified were S. epidermidis (28.6%) followed by S. chromogens (14.8%), S. haemolyticus (12.6%), S. aureus (12.1%), S. capitis (8.2%), S. lentus (8.2%), S. hyicus (4.4%), S. simulans (4.4%), S. caprae (2.8%), S. hominis (2.8%) and S. warneri (1.1%). Antimicrobial sensitivity test revealed that most isolates were highly susceptible to 11 antimicrobial agents (96.4 ~ 80.9%), while most isolates were resistant to penicillin.

An object of the present study is to provide a hollow fiber membrane humidifier capable of improving the humidification efficiency while lowering the pressure loss, and is suitably usable for PEMFC(Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell). The performance of PEMFC is decisively dependent on the humidity of the electrolyte membrane(fluorinated membrane) and a humidifier plays an important role in moisturizing electrolyte membrane. Especially this humidifier is adaptable for lower price to promote the commercialization of fuel cell vehicles and is passive type to be power free and to be volumetrically optimized. In this research, we propose the substitutes for the expensive fluorinated materials and the optimum dry-jet wet spinning conditions of hollow fiber membrane to get the fuel cell humidifier. In addition to that we established the standard method of evaluating the moisturizing performance of the humidifier of various materials.

기존 아이덴티티 디자인에서의 브랜드 확대는 기업이 사업의 확장이나 새로운 제품의 개발로 브랜드 혹은 이미지를 마케팅에 확장·도입시킴을 의미한다. 여기서 `확장`과 `확대`의 의미는 오프-라인 아이덴티티미디어 시스템에 국한되며 새로운 미디어를 시스템에 적용하기 위해서는 심도 있는 시스템 체계의 논의가 요구된다. 다양한 디지털 미디어 혹은 온-라인 미디어를 기존의 아이덴티티 시스템에 포함하기에는 디지털 미디어 환경은 물론 매체의 물리적 특성이 현저한 차이를 보이고 있다. 또한 브랜드의 위상이 문화와 산업 전반으로 높아지고 있으며 이는 브랜드의 개념 확장을 의미한다. 오프-라인 미디어를 기반으로 하고 있는 기존의 아이덴티티시스템의 한계를 극복하고 새로운 미디어에서도 적용 가능한 뉴미디어 아이덴티티시스템의 다양한 연구가 요구된다. 본 연구는 온-라인 미디어인 웹 아이덴티티(Web Identity)를 예로 들어 뉴미디어 아이덴티티시스템을 논구하였다. 기존의 전통적 개념의 브랜드아이덴티티(BI: Brand Identity)가 온-라인 뉴미디어로 확장되면서 아이덴티티시스템의 적용매체와 제작과정은 물론 마케팅의 관점도 확장되었으며, 온-라인과 오프-라인(Off-line) 미디어가 서로 융합되어 사용되고 있다. 확장되고 혼용된 어플리케이션 시스템과 뉴미디어 시대의 미디어확장에서 나타난 온-라인 브랜드는 아이덴티티디자인 시스템의 새로운 패러다임(Paradigm)이 될 것이다. This study examines online media web identity discussing new media identity system. The extension of existing brand identity into on-line new media has made applying media for brand identity exand with the process of production and marketing, and on-line and off-line can be used together in the process. The on-line brand and application system in the new media era are extending and blending inducing a new paradigm of brand identity. The emegence of brand identity in existing design identity means expansion of company by developing new brand and new marketing. In the meaning of expansion, it is requred more sophisticated discussion to apply new media system with offline identity system. To include various digital media or online media in existing identity system, the new environment and physical characteristics of existing environment reveal clear differences. In general, position of branding is growing with industries and culture. It means growing concepts of branding. More study is needed to conquest the limitation of existing identity system which has offline media foundation and is possibly applied with new media identity system.
음향 인텐시티법을 이용한 GDI 엔진 소음원 규명 및 소음 기여도 분석에 관한 연구

In this paper, a new method is proposed to estimate the sound pressure generated from gasoline direct injection (GDI) engine. There are many noise sources as much as components in GDI engine. Among these components, fuel pump, fuel injector, fuel rail, pressure pump and intake/exhaust manifolds are major components generated from top of the engine. In order to estimate the contribution of these components to engine noise, the total sound pressure at the front of the engine is estimated by using airborne source quantification (ASQ) method. Airborne source quantification method requires the acoustic source volume velocity of each component. The volume velocity has been calculated by using the inverse method. The inverse method requires many tests and has ill-condition problem. This paper suggested a method to obtain volume velocity directly based on the direct measurement of sound intensity and particle velocity. The method is validated by using two known monopole sources installed at the anechoic chamber. Finally the proposed method is applied to the identification and contribution of noise sources caused by the GDI components of the test engine.
