Various morphologies of copper oxide (CuO) have been considered to be of both fundamental and practical importance in the field of electronic materials. In this study, using Cu ($0.1{\mu}m$ and $7{\mu}m$) particles, flake-type CuO particles were grown via a wet oxidation method for 5min and 60min at $75^{\circ}C$. Using the prepared CuO, AlN, and silicone base as reagents, thermal interface material (TIM) compounds were synthesized using a high speed paste mixer. The properties of the thermal compounds prepared using the CuO particles were observed by thermal conductivity and breakdown voltage measurement. Most importantly, the volume of thermal compounds created using CuO particles grown from $0.1{\mu}m$ Cu particles increased by 192.5 % and 125 % depending on the growth time. The composition of CuO was confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis; cross sections of the grown CuO particles were observed using focused ion beam (FIB), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), and energy dispersive analysis by X-ray (EDAX). In addition, the thermal compound dispersion of the Cu and Al elements were observed by X-ray elemental mapping.

Recently two seismic cloaking methods of earthquake engineering have been suggested. One is the seismic wave deflection method that makes the seismic wave bend away and the other is the shadow zone method that makes an area that seismic waves cannot pass through. It is called as seismic cloaking. The fundamental principles of the seismic cloaking by variable refractive index were explained. A two-dimensional cylindrical model which was composed of 40 layers of different density and modulus was tested by numerical simulation. The center region of the model to be protected is called ‘cloaked area’ and the outer region of it to deflect the incoming wave is called ‘cloaking area’ or ‘cloak area.’ As the incoming surface wave is approaching to the cloaking area, the refractive index is decreasing and, therefore, the velocity and impedance are increasing. Then, the wave bends away the cloaked area instead of passing it. Three cases are tested depending on the comparison between the seismic wavelength and the diameter of the cloaked region. The advantage and disadvantage of the method were compared with conventional earthquake engineering method. Some practical requirements for realization in fields were discussed.

Growth of the Korean pomfret, Pampus echinogaster, captured in the East China Sea from January to December 1987, was estimated by annual rings on the vertebral centrum. The time of annual ring formation was approximately during September and October. Von Bertalanffy growth equations derived from the mean back-calculated fork length(㎝) at each age were as follows: for females, L_t,=29.17(1-exp(-0.3213(t+0.7601))), for males, L_t,=28.21(1-exp(-0.3169(t+0.8284))), and for sexes combined, L_t=29.00(1-exp(-0.3228(t+0.7361))). Seasonal growth equations derived from the mean obeserved fork length (㎝) at age by month were as follows: for females, L_t=29.2(1-exp(-0.3458(t+0.8182)+(0.3458/2π) sin2π(t+0.027))), and for males, L_t=28.2(1-exp(-0.2789(t+1.5913)+(0.2789/2π) sin2π (t-0.1062))).
이질형 분산 시스템에서 유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 동적 부하 균등 기법

송신자 개시 부하 균등 알고리즘에서는 전체 시스템이 과부하일 때 송신자(과부하 프로세서)가 부하를 이전하기 위해 수신자(과부하 프로세서)를 발견할 때까지 불필요한 이전 요청 메시지를 계속 보내게 된다. 따라서 이 같은 상황에서는 저부하 상태인 수신자 프로세서로부터 승인 메시지를 받기까지 불필요한 프로세서간 통신으로 인하여 프로세서의 이용률이 저하되고 또한 타스크의 처리율이 낮아지는 문제점이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 이질형 분산 시스템에서의 동적 부하 균등을 위해 유전자 알고리즘을 기반으로 하는 접근 방법을 제안한다. 이 기법에서는 불필요한 요청 메시지를 줄이기 위해 요청 메시지가 전송될 프로세서들이 제안된 유전자 알고리즘에 의해 결정된다. In a sender-initiated load balancing algorithm, a sender (overloaded processor) continues to send unnecessary request messages for load transfer until a receiver (underloaded processor) is found while the system load is heavy. Therefore, it yields many problems such as low cpu utilization and system throughput because of inefficient inter-processor communications until the sender receives an accept message from the receiver in this environment. This paper presents an approach based on genetic algorithm (GA) for dynamic load balancing in heterogeneous distributed systems. In this scheme the processors to which the requests are sent off are determined by the proposed GA to decrease unnecessary request messages.
