To research the influence of air flow characteristics in combustion chamber of a small direct injection diesel engine, a small direct injection diesel engine was motor-driven and than, ensemble averaged mean velocity and turbulence intensity was measured by hot wire probe using the parameters such as rpm, swirler, piston geometry, comp. rate.<br/> A hot wire probe was inserted in the cylinder of the experimental engine through the fuel injector hole on cylinder head.<br/> In order to investigate turbulence intensity characteristics, the formation coefficienct of turbulence intensity and the turbulence intensity decrease ratio was calculated.<br/> <br/>

The purpose of this study is to improve engine performance and fuel economy by reducing back-pressure in a muffler. Back-pressure affecting engine performance is the important considering aspect for muffler design.<br/> First, we did a model experiment by using a venturi tube around the tailpipe of muffler(After this, venturi muffler) and found the most effective conditions. And then we performed the engine dynamometer test and the chassis dynamometer test. As the results of these works, we found the positive effects of venturi muffler and knew that it could improve engine performance and fuel economy<br/>

This experimental study was performed by the reflection object and the variation of injection pressure with the conventional injector and the ultrasonic fuel adding injector in order to improve the characteristics of the fuel injector for EFI type.<br/> The cause and effect of the characteristic improvement of the ultrasonic adding fuel was found out by the chemical structure analysis(NMR, IR) and the physical test(viscosity, distillation).<br/> The results are obtained as follows;<br/> 1. The SMD by the conventional injector and the ultrasonic fuel adding injector are much smaller as injection pressure increase. Also, the SMD and distribution of the particle by the ultrasonic fuel adding injector is better than those by the conventional injector.<br/> 2. The chemical property of fuel was changed by ultrasonic energy. Bl was increased, percent of aromatics volume was reduced by ultrasonic energy.<br/> 3. The physical characteristics(viscosity, distillation) of fuel were improved by ultrasonic energy; Viscosity was decreased, ultrasonic energy added fuel was improved cold starting & acceleration properties.<br/>

본 논문에서는 자동차를 자동으로 운전하기 위한 퍼지규칙의 설계를 다룬다. 제안된 퍼지규칙은 인간 숙련자의 경험적 지식을 바탕으로 설계되었으며, 서로 기능적으로 구분되어 있는 3개의 그룹으로 만들어져 있다. 본 논문에서 제안한 퍼지 규칙의 타당성을 확인하여 보기 위해 S자 형태의 커브길을 모델차량이 주행하는 것을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션으로 시험해 본 결과, 도로의 중앙부를 따라 잘 빠져나감을 알 수 있었다. This paper presents fuzzy control rules of automatically driving a car. Fuzzy control rules proposed are designed by investigating human expert's experiences and composed of three groups whose functions are different. According to computer simulations which let a model car pass through a curve of S type, we can find validity of fuzzy control rules suggested.
