기혈관절방(氣血關節方)A(CWS-A)가 CFA로 유발(誘發)된 관절염(關節炎)에 미치는 영향(影響)

Objective: To investigate effects of herbal preparations formulated(Gihyeolgwanjeolbang-A, CWS-A) on complete Freund`s adjuvant (CFA)-induced arthritis in rats. Method: Arthritis was induced by injecting CFA subcutaneously into the left knee joint and paw, and the herbal preparations formulated(CWS-AⅠ, 82.3 mg/kg;CWS-AⅡ, 164.6 mg/kg) was administered orally (i.g.) for 10 consecutive days beginning on day 10 after the injection. External shape, paw edema, inflammatory cytokines tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha) and interleukin-1 beta (IL-1beta), and histological observation were assessed. Result: In swelling of the paw, CWS-AⅠ and CWS-AⅡ group in 15 days and 20 days were significantly reduced compared to controls. In serum ALT, CWS-AⅠ and CWS-AⅡ group were significantly reduced compared to controls. In TNF-α, CWS-AⅠ and CWS-AⅡ group were a tendency reduced compared to controls. In HGB, HCT, MCHC of erythrocytes, CWS-AⅡ group was increased compared to controls. In histological observations, CWS-AⅡ group was observed synoviocytes more than control group and was observed proteoglycans in the deep layers. Conclusion: The data suggest that CWS-A significant anti-arthritic effects that may be mediated by suppressing inflammatory parameters.
족삼리(足三里), 합곡(合谷) 단일(單一) 및 배혈(配穴) 침자(鍼刺)가 상치통(上齒痛) 유발(誘發) 백서(白鼠)의 dEMG에 미치는 영향(影響)

Objectives: The pain was induced on upper and lower incisor of the rat based on the theory of `connections of upper incisor pain with stomach meridian and lower incisor pain with large intestine meridian`. Such acupoints as LI4 and ST36 were used for alleviation of upper and lower incisor pain. Methods: The digastric myogram (dEMG) was utilized for the pain measurement. Results: The ST36 acupuncture after induction of upper incisor pain was gradually decreased or increased the dEMG. The LI4 acupuncture after induction of upper incisor pain was gradually decreased the dEMG. The ST36+LI4 acupuncture after induction of upper incisor pain was gradually decreased the dEMG. We knew this thing which the ST36+LI4 acupuncture decreased the dEMG most greatly and kept long compared to ST36 acupuncture, LI4 acupuncture. Conclusions: Acupuncture treatment at the loci of not only ST36 acupuncture but LI4 acupuncture were relieved the upper incisor pain. It was well suitable to the theory `connections of upper incisor pain with stomach meridian` that ST36 acupuncture decreased the upper incisor pain. But there was not to decrease the dEMG for the ST36 acupuncture. We are considered as tracing study continuously about ST36 acupuncture. It was not suitable to the theory `connections of upper incisor pain with stomach meridian` that LI4 acupuncture decreased the upper incisor pain. These results was considered as the function by the characteristic of the LI4 acupoint.

Dementia is the neurodegenerative process that affects cognition, behavior and function and one of the most prominent diseases of dementia is Alzheimer's disease(AD). AD is a dementing illness characterized clinically by the progressive and irreversible deafferentation of the limbic system, association neocortex and basal forebrain. A number of conditions are known to be predisposing risk factors for AD. In several of these, initiation of glial-mediated inflammatory pathways as a mechanism of AD is getting a lot of attention. On the other hand, a biochemical marker for monitoring the onset and progression of the disease would be a valuable tool for disease management. Also such a marker might be used as an end point in clinical intervention protocols. This biochemical marker will have the potential for identifying subjects afflicted with the disease and possibly for monitoring the onset and longitudinal progression of the disease. Here we have reviewed the latest papers of different approaches to AD. Of course, there is a section of PET which is very useful clinically nowadays.
에탄올-유발 胃粘膜 損傷에 對한 健脾湯加味方(DS-9801)의 抗潰瘍 效果硏究

Our study used an ethanol as an inducing agent for gastric damage in the rat. All the rats were treated with either herbal medicine(DS-9801), following ethanol treatment for curing study or followed by ethanol administration for protective study. The rat stomachs were exposed, photographed and tissues were taken for microscopic observation. The microscopic observation showed that DS-9801 administered group had smaller hemorrhagic erosion size than control group. The protective effect of DS-9801 against ulcer lasted until 36 hours and curing effect was significant at 30 minutes and 6 hours but there were much difference on its effect by time. The histrological observation revealed less deterioration of stomach mucosa layer by hemmorage, stomach mucosa layer in DS-9801 administered group than in control. Summing up those results suggest that DS-9801 administeration was effective in curing stomach ulcer and continuous further research works seem to necessary to reveal its functional mechanisms.
