『蜻蛉日記』에 나타난 道綱母의 불행 - 상권에 나타난 道綱母의 내면세계를 중심으로 -

『蜻蛉日記』は、作者であると同時に主人公である道綱母が彼女の不幸 だった21年間の結婚生活を回想してその体験を書いた作品である。平安時代の一夫多妻の風習の下、夫の愛を他の女性と公有しながら、夫の訪問を待つしかない道綱母の結婚生活がいかに辛くて不幸だったのか想像できる。しかし果たして彼女の不幸の原因がすべて一夫多妻という當時の風習にあると言えるのか。本稿では『蜻蛉日記』上巻に現れた彼女の内面世界を考察して、彼女の不幸な結婚生活の原因が彼女自身にもあることがわかった。彼女は高い理想だけをもって現実を直視できないまま、夫である兼家の政治的な活躍はさておき、自分に対する兼家の愛情にだけ執着する日々を送る。それに兼家の他の夫人に対する嫉妬も非常に高い。いくら女性に残酷な一夫多妻だとしても、道綱母のこのような内面世界で彼女が不幸になったとも思われる。

초등학교의 지역간 시력차이에 관한 연구 : 대구 및 영천지역을 중심으로

The study was carried out to estimate the prevalence and possible causes of refractive errors in primary school children. At one primary school in urban Daegu, one in the medium-sized city of Yongcheon and 2 in rural areas, children wearing glasses and children with visual acuity of less than 0.7 were given our questions. 354 out of 378 children responded to our questions. The research was done from March 2000 to February 2001. The data were analyzed by percentage, χ2 test, t-test, ANOVA and Scheff method. Children with eyesight problems were more prevalent in urban areas than rural areas. The lack of luminosity during reading (p=0.015), length of reading time (p=0.08) and posture which watching TV (p=0.023) appeared leading causes of progressing myopias. The visual impairment caused by refractive errors may affect the mental and physical activity of primary school children and lead to social isolation, loneliness and depression. However, little attention may be paid by professionals engaged in providing health care to the children. Once we have recognized the impact of visual impairment, we may be in a better position to prevent progressing refractive errors.

소비자의 죄책감이 수입품 선호에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: 중국 소비자를 중심으로

Purpose - This paper investigates how consumers' feelings of guilt affect their preference for imported products. Choosing imported products over domestic products reveals that consumers' motivation is to improve themselves. This study also tries to examine whether choosing imported goods has a restorative effect on feelings of guilt. Design/methodology/approach - We ran two experiments to test our hypothesis. Participants were recruited in China and the data analysis software used in this study was SPSS 26.0 for analysis. Findings - The results show that consumers with guilt feelings are more likely to import products than to consume domestic products, the second result shows that choosing imported products has an effect on guilt. In addition, consumers with low self-efficacy in a guilty condition prefer imported products to domestic products. Research implications or Originality - Based on previous research that focused on how guilt activates consumers' self-improvement goals, this study shows that when consumers experience feelings of guilt, they prefer imported products to reduce their negative feelings. These findings are discussed in the light of their implications for research on consumer self-motivation and ways of coping with it.

Ligand Recognition by the Toll-like Receptor Family

Toll-like receptor (TLR) family proteins, type I transmembrane proteins, play a central role in human innate immune response by recognizing common structural patterns in diverse molecules from bacteria, viruses and fungi. Recently four structures of the TLR and ligand complexes have been determined by high resolution x-ray crystallographic technique. In this review we summarize reported structures of TLRs and their proposed activation mechanisms. The structures demonstrate that binding of agonistic ligands to the extracellular domains of TLRs induces homo- or heterodimerization of the receptors. Dimerization of the TLR extracellular domains brings their two C-termini into close proximity. This suggests a plausible mechanism of TLR activation: ligand induces dimerization of the extracellular domains, which enforces juxtaposition of intracellular signaling domains for recruitment of intracellular adaptor proteins for signal initiation. Structural insights into the molecular mechanism of ABC transporters

ABC (ATP-binding cassette) transporters mediate the translocation of a large variety of molecules across lipid bilayers andare directly driven by energy from ATP hydrolysis. Since the first crystal structure of an ABC transporter, the E. coli vitaminB12 transporter BtuCD, was reported in 2002, over thirty structures of ABC proteins in different functional states have beendetermined by X-ray crystallography or by single particle cryo-electron microscopy reconstruction. In this review, structuraldetails of ABC transporters, the maltose transporter of Escherichia coli and the P-glycoprotein of Caenorhabditis elegans,are discussed to understand the molecular mechanism of ABC importers and exporters, respectively.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between sex role stereotypes and delinquency, and determine if it is mediated by stigma. The data was taken from the fourth wave of the 2010 Korea Youth Panel Survey(KYPS), which was administered by the Korea Youth Policy Institute. The major findings are as follows: First, sex role stereotypes were found to increase stigma and delinquency. Second, the relationship between sex role stereotypes and delinquency is mediated by stigma. Third, the results revealed that there was a significant gender difference in mediating models. As for the female participants, stigma had a mediating effect in the relationship between sex role stereotyping and delinquency. In contrast, for the male participants, the mediating effect of stigma was found to be insignificant. Based on these results, this research suggested that delinquency prevention programs need improvement considering gender difference and sex role stereotypes.

Crystal Structure of a Highly Thermostable α-Carbonic Anhydrase from Persephonella marina EX-H1

Bacterial α-type carbonic anhydrase (α-CA) is a zinc metalloenzyme that catalyzes the reversible and extremely rapid interconversion of carbon dioxide to bicarbonate. In this study, we report the first crystal structure of a hyperthermostable α-CA from Persephonella marina EX-H1 (pmCA) in the absence and presence of competitive inhibitor, acetazolamide. The structure reveals a compactly folded pmCA homodimer in which each monomer consists of a 10-stranded β-sheet in the center. The catalytic zinc ion is coordinated by three highly conserved histidine residues with an exchangeable fourth ligand (a water molecule, a bicarbonate anion, or the sulfonamide group of acetazolamide). Together with an intramolecular disulfide bond, extensive interfacial networks of hydrogen bonds, ionic and hydrophobic interactions stabilize the dimeric structure and are likely responsible for the high thermal stability. We also identified novel binding sites for calcium ions at the crystallographic interface, which serve as molecular glue linking negatively charged and otherwise repulsive surfaces. Furthermore, this large negatively charged patch appears to further increase the thermostability at alkaline pH range via favorable charge-charge interactions between pmCA and solvent molecules. These findings may assist development of novel α-CAs with improved thermal and/or alkaline stability for applications such as CO2 capture and sequestration.
