        낙동정맥 삼척시 용소골 계곡의 식생구조

        백두대간에 대한 관심은 현황조사 및 분석, 관리 및 복원 방안 등 다양한 연구결과를 도출한 반면, 지맥인 정맥에 대한 관심은 증가하고 있으나 현황연구는 없는 상태이다. 본 연구는 향후 관리 및 복원방안을 제안하기 위한 기초연구로서 낙동정맥 중 용소골의 식생구조를 밝히고자 10m×10m(100㎡) 조사구 30개소를 설치하여 조사하였다. 상대우점치 및 평균상대우점치에 의한 군집분류 결과 소나무군집, 박달나무군집, 황철나무군집, 신갈나무군집, 굴참나무군집의 5개 유형이 용소골 계곡을 대표하는 군집이었다. 소나무군집은 능선부에 주로 분포하며 꼬리진달래가 출현하는 것이 특징이었고 박달나무군집은 참나무류와 경쟁을 피할 수 있는 능선부 급경사지와 완만한 전석지에 분포하였다. 단위면 적당(400㎡) 종다양도는 0.7914~0.9442이었으며 수령은 30~115년으로 층위구조가 형성된 보호가치가 있는 숲이었다. Baekdudaegan field survey has been proposed and presented as a various plan such as field survey analysis, management and restoration plan, etc. Whereas, the concerns of the Jeongmaek has increased continuously, nevertheless there is no research of present condition for Jeongmaek. This paper is to contribute to suggest for management and restoration as a basic study of vegetation structure in Yongso valley. We set up 30 plots(100㎡) to verify the vegetation structure. As a result of classification analysis used by DCA, the type of 5 communities i.e. Pinus densiflora community, Betula schmidtii community, Populus maximowiczii community, Quercus mongolica community, Q. variabilis community were the most representative of Yongso valley vegetation communities. P. densiflora community was mainly distributed in the ridge of mountain, ridge of steep slope and stony area. In that reason, they avoid to compete with B. schmidtii community and Q. spp. community. In addition, the appearance of Rhododendron micranthum was mainly characteristics in the P. densiflora community. Species diversity indices(H`) of groups were ranged from 0.7914~0.9942, the tree ages were 30~115 years. According to these results, the forests of Yongso valley not only form muti-layer vegetation structures but also have a great ecological value for protection and preservation.

        Organotin compounds are one of the most widely used antifouling agent to prevent adherence of sedentary organisms to ship hull and other structural surfaces immersed in seawater. Major source of organotin compounds released to marine environment is via uses as antifouling paints for ships and cultivating nets. Organotin, in particular tributyltin(TBT) and triphenyltin( TPT) are considered to be dangerous chemicals because of their deleterious effects on non-target marine organisms. Since their adverse effects on oyster farmings near marina were revealed, a series of studies have demonstrated that organotin compounds are highly toxic towards marine organisms. In this study, the concentrations of six organotin compounds, such as TBT, TPT and their motabolites, in seawater collected at the coast were determined. Seawater were collected at several sites on the coastal area of Korea. The dibutyltin(DBT) and tributyltin compounds were detected in almost seawater samples analyzed. DBT was higher than other organotin species in the mean concentration of 14.35 ( ng/L) in seawater. The contamination levels of butyltin compounds in coastal seawater were highly detected around harbour of South and East coast than West coast. The results indicated substantial contamination along the coast of Korea in which the butyltin levels were comparable to those reported from other oversea coastal areas.

        Response Activities for Tar Ball Pollution from the 'Hebei Spirit' Oil Spill in the Southwestern Sea of Korea

        2007년 12월 7일 발생한 허베이스피리트호 원유유출 사고로 약 12,547 kL의 기름이 해상으로 유출되어 서해안의 해안선이 광범위하게 기름으로 뒤덮이는 결과가 초래되었다. 사고발생 며칠 후부터 타르볼이 서남해안에서 관측되었으며, 이에 대한 방제를 위해 해양경찰(KCG)은 해상에서는 뜰채 및 그물끌기 방법을 이용하였고, 해안에서는 그물치기, 주워내기, 쓸어 담기 등 3가지 방제방법을 이용하였다. 그물막 치기 방법은 해안이 타르볼로 오염되는 것을 예방하는데 효과적이었으며, 사고당시의 계절이 겨울이었던 점은 타르볼이 쉽게 굳어 자원봉사자나 주민들이 주워 내거나 쓸어 담는데 큰 이점이 될 수 있었다. Approximately 12,547 kL of oil from the tanker 'Hebei Spirit' released into the western sea of Korea, which subsequently reached and covered extensive areas of the western coastlines of Korea. In the following days great numbers of tar balls hit the southwestern coast. Three different cleanup methods were used to mediate the southwestern coastline tar ball pollution by Korea Coast Guard (KCG) net setting, manual pick up, and sweeping them up. Net setting was useful in protecting coastlines from being hit by tar balls. The cold weather in winter conditions helped the tar ball response efforts because it caused them to harden, allowing them to be swept up from beaches and to be gathered up by hand.

        This study aims to develope a numerical model of the huge obstacle defined in the Korean Rollingstock Safety Regulations. The shape and mechanical properties to be satisfied in the numerical model were based on the Regulations. Through a troublesome trial and error simulations, we developed the numerical model of the huge obstacle to satisfy physical properties of the specified guideline in the regulations. By applying the developed numerical obstacle, we carried out a crash simulation to evaluate vehicle crashworthiness.

      • 국가연구개발사업의 공공가치 개념 도입방안

        Along with the economic and social development in Korea, the national R&D programs has focused on not only economic, industrial, and commercial values but also those for basic research, environmental technologies, and social welfare which private firms rarely carry out. Public value become increasingly an important end of innovation in USA and Europe, and also in Korea national R&D puts more emphasis on public value. From this point of view, this study aims to examine the current application of public value in national R&D plan and programs of Korea and to make policy suggestions for applying the notion of public value to Korean R&D programs properly. For this purpose, firstly, this study provides rationale for employing the notion of public value and suggest the basic directions for its application by reviewing the concept and theories. Secondly, this study examines foreign and domestic cases of public value application and draws implications. Foreign cases include the US, UK, Netherlands, Germany and Denmark. For domestic case studies this study scrutinizes the programs for broadcasting, agriculture and rural economy, and public welfare and security. Thirdly, this study carries out analyses for applying the notion of public value at the levels of (1) national R&D agenda and plan (the national basic plan for science and technology), (2) national R&D planning and evaluation process, (3) related rules and guidelines, and (4) a specific R&D program, and provide some suggestions for policy improvement. This study, especially by placing emphasis on the analyses below, raises policy issues and provides policy recommendations for the application of public value. First, at the levels of (1) national R&D agenda and plan (the national basic plan for science and technology), it focuses mainly on scientific/technological and economic performance. Therefore, the notions of public value should be reflected more in the national basic plan for science and technology which contains the highest-level plans and directions for national R&D programs. At the national R&D planning and evaluation process, the evaluation criteria in preliminary feasibility test are centered around economic, technological, and policy feasibility. Hence, the notion of public value should be more included in the evaluation criteria by reforming the process, and moreover the weighting of public value should be increased for R&D programs of public technology development where public value are emphasized. At the level of rules and guidelines, qualitative evaluation recently has been more emphasized, however, the evaluation indices for social performance which is closely related with public value are mixed with those for economic values in the evaluation criteria for the national R&D programs. Therefore, it is necessary to clarify the indices for performance evaluation criteria and to revise the indices from the viewpoints of public value in the scientific, technological, economic, social, and infra-structural performances. The results from the analysis of individual programs (such as R&D programs in the health and welfare area), performance evaluation indices have not been well developed according to different types of programs and projects at the individual programs level. For instance, the social influence of new technology developments can be different according to different sub areas such as vaccination, prescription, treatment, and rehabilitation. Therefore, different evaluation measures for different influences in terms of public values must be considered. Lastly, the authors point out that this study attempts to provide policy suggestions to solve out policy problems beyond merely summarizing literature and exploring new research issues/methods.         Mutation of the P53 tumor suppressor gene playa major role in the development of many carcinomas, namely in the colon, breast and bladder, whereas the role played by such mutations in thyroid carcinogenesis remains controversial. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) induces proliferation of endothelial cells, stimulates angiogenesis, and increases vascular permeability. Increased VEGF expression has been associated with poor clinical outcomes in many malignancies E-cadherin, a calcium-dependent transmembrane glycoprotein, is an adhesion molecule Expression of p53, VEGF and E-cadherin was assessed immunohistochemically in 19 tall columnar variant of papillary carcinoma, 24 common papillary carcinoma and 7 follicular carcinoma. The aim of this study was to evaluate the expression of P53,VEGF and E-cadherin as a potential maker for the prognosis of thyroid carcinomas. The results are as follows: 1) There were no significance in any clinical parameters examined among tall columnar variant of papillary carcinoma, common papillary carcinoma and follicular carcinoma. 2) The expression of P53 demonstrated low in tall columnar variant of papillary carcinoma, common papillary carcinoma and follicular carcinoma, but a significantly high in regional lymph node metastasis. 3) The expression of VEGF demonstrated a significantly high in regional lymph node metastasis than those without metastasis in papillary thyroid carcinoma. 4) The expression of E-cadherin demonstrated less often among papillary carcinomas with lymph node metastasis than in those without metastasis in papillary thyroid carcinoma. In conclusion, it is suggested that VEGF and E-cadherin will be useful for the diagnosis of thyroid carcinoma and serves as a biological marker for thyroid carcinoma lymph node metastasis.

        In the article 16 of the domestic rolling stock crashworthiness regulations, the collision acceleration level during collision accidents should remain under the maximum 7.5g and the average 5g. By the way, the accelerations obtained in crash simulations and tests contain many kinds of high frequency components due to numerical oscillations or noisy signals. So, this paper aims to develop reliable post-processing methods to filter high frequency oscillations and extract the rigid body motions of passenger rail cars. For this study we used the 1-dimensional dynamic model of KHST (Korean high-speed train), and evaluated acceleration data at the driver"s area in the first power car and the passenger area in the following trailer.

      • 1차원 충돌 동역학 모델을 이용한 한국형 고속전철의 충돌안전도 평가

        In this study, the crashworthiness of KHST is evaluated by analysing a nonlinear spring/bar-damper-mass model using 1 dimensional collision dynamics. The numerical results show that KHST can easily absorb kinetic energy at lower impact force and acceleration in heavy collisions, when compared with KTX. Also, in a light collision like a traint-to-train accident at speed under 8 kph, the carbody and components of KHST can be protected without any damage except a energy absorbing tube to be replaced easily. However, KTX may be much damaged in the light collision because there is no energy absorbing tube. In conclusion, the crashworthy performance of KHST has been much improved than that of KTX, although there remains something to be improved for a better performance.
