Retropharyngeal Tenosynovial Giant Cell Tumor Misdiagnosed as Oropharyngeal Cancer: a Case Report
정미란,이지영,김상윤 대한자기공명의과학회 2018 Investigative Magnetic Resonance Imaging Vol.22 No.4
Extra-articular tenosynovial giant cell tumor (TS-GCT) in retropharyngeal space is a rare case. We found only two case reports in the literature, in which one was located in retropharynx or prevertebral space of the cervical spine. We describe a rare case of TS-GCT in the retropharynx, which was initially misdiagnosed as oropharyngeal cancer. Furthermore, we want to assure that extraarticular diffuse type TS-GCT should be considered in the differential diagnosis of lesions showing low signal intensity in MRI scan.
A Concept Analysis of Gratitude in Patients Based on Rodgers’ Evolutionary Method
정미란,한금선 한국콘텐츠학회 2017 International Journal of Contents Vol.13 No.2
This article presents a concept analysis of the gratitude experience of diseased patients. The Rodgers’ Evolutionary Method was used for conducting the analysis. A search of CINAHL, MEDLINE, PsycARTICLES, and Springer databases was conducted using “gratitude or appreciation or thanks” and “patient or illness” as a key word, 22 final articles were selected. Three critical attributes of gratitude in patients were identified: positive emotions, acceptance of the current status, and a driving force to plant the will of life. In addition, two antecedents of gratitude in patients were identified: interactions with people or the environment, and the perception of a favorable stimuli or help. Two consequences of gratitude in patients were identified: an increased compliance in implemented treatment, and an enhancement of trust relationship. The concept analysis describes diseased patients’ gratitude. This paper will become the basis for future clinical research related to diseased patients’ gratitude.
An Exploratory Study About Consumption Trend on Wines of Korea and America
정미란 (사)한국관광레저학회 2011 관광레저연구 Vol.23 No.2
Korea is rising as a new target market as new wine producer and consumer in the world's wine market. This paper suggested the prediction on wine consumption trend of Korea can be made through observation on beverage consumption trend of America. As a result of looking into trend of wine markets of America and Korea, they are showing similar patterns in some parts of the general beverage market and consumption pattern of America can make long-term prediction on wine consumer countries with following tendency as a new wine producing country and also an advanced country that inherited traditions of Europe where wines have originated.

Purpose: To determine the clinical usefulness of the Teller Acuity Cards(TAC) test in infants and preverbal children less than 48 months old. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 55 consecutive patients. We had measured visual acuity with the TAC test for the preverbal period, and optotype acuity was measured with Hahn`s letter chart for the follow-up period. Test-retest long-term repeatability was evaluated by comparing the last two TAC acuities. We compared the last TAC acuity with the first optotype acuity to estimate the predictive validity of the TAC test. Finally, we also tested the reliability of the TAC test compared with the optotype acuity test for the assessment of interocular visual acuity differences in patients with unilateral amblyopia. Results: The mean age of patients at the initial TAC test was 21.6 months. The first optotype acuity was obtained at the age of 37 months. Earlier TAC acuity correlated significantly with later TAC acuity (r=0.77, p<0.001). Although the TAC test underestimated the visual acuity more than the optotype test, there was minimal correlation between the two tests (r=0.28, p<0.05). In the presence of the interocular difference of visual acuity with the TAC test, unilateral amblyopia as assessed by optotype test could be anticipated (r=0.44, p<0.05). Conclusions: The TAC test can be used as a reliable method to estimate visual acuity in infants and preverbal children. Earlier The TAC acuities are valid predictors of optotype acuities later in childhood. The TAC test is an especially useful method in detecting unilateral amblyopia.

Although rare, traumatic injuries to the lower rectum and anal sphincter muscle combined with deep perineal laceration present substantial diagnostic and management challenges for surgeons. Between February 2004 and February 2006, six patients were treated for traumatic injuries to the lower rectum and anal sphincter muscle combined with deep perineal laceration at the Department of Surgery, Chonnam National University Hospital. All six patients underwent a diverting colostomy, primary repair, and presacral a drainage, but only three cases underwentva a sphincteroplasty. Three patients who underwent a sphincteroplasty had normal findings on anorectal manometry. Traumatic injuries to the lower rectum and anal sphincter muscle combined with deep perineal laceration have a high morbidity rate and a great influence on the quality of life. Thus, such injuries require aggressive management, and treatment modalities should be tailored to the individual case.

Purpose: Rapid changes have occurred in the educational environment of colleges since the outbreak of COVID-19. This study was conducted to determine the factors influencing college life adaptation for nursing students. Methods: The participants included 124 nursing students. A self-administered online questionnaire, available from March 30 to April 10, 2022, was used for data collection. The online questionnaires included COVID-19 stress, interpersonal relations, information literacy, and college life adaptation. Statistical analysis was performed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. Results: The average score for adapting to college life was 3.32±0.58. Significant differences in college life adaptation were found based on the number of exercise days per week (F=3.62, p=.015), regular daily routine (t=-3.41, p<.001), amount of sleep (t=-3.61, p<.001), sleep quality (t=-3.90, p<.001), and diagnostic self evaluation (F=19.55, p<.001). Factors that influenced college life adaptation included interpersonal relations (β=.36, p<.001), diagnostic self evaluation (good) (β=.48, p<.001), diagnostic self evaluation (fair) (β=.38, p=.005), and COVID-19 stress (β=-.11, p=.027), which explained 38.0% of the college life adaptation. Conclusion: Development of a program that integrates interpersonal relations, diagnostic self- evaluation, and COVID-19 stress for nursing students is recommended to improve college life adaptation.
