Vasculitis is a heterogeneous group of diseases that destroy blood vessel walls by inflammation. Approximately half of vasculitis cases are idiopathic, but sometimes associated with genetic factors, medicines, chronic infection, autoimmune diseases, and malignancies. Although the mechanism remains unclear, vasculitis secondary to malignancy, also known as paraneoplastic vasculitis, has been reported. It is generally associated with hematologic malignancies rather than solid malignancies and commonly presents as leukocytoclastic vasculitis or polyarteritis nodosa. We experienced a case of leukocytoclastic vasculitis in a patient with hepatocellular carcinoma and membranous obstruction of the inferior vena cava. Here, we report this case with a brief review of literature. (J Rheum Dis 2015;22:322-326)
자동급이기를 활용한 군사 사양이 모돈의 번식능력과 자돈의 성장능력에 미치는 영향

This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of different housing systems on the performances of sows and their piglets during gestation. A total of 90 sows (Landrace ${\times}$ Yorkshire) were employed into 3 experimental farms to give 3 treatments, stall housing, group housing in either slatted floor or litter floor. Individual sow was used as an experimental unit. Group housed sows were fed with electronic sow feeder during gestation. Performance measures were taken on sows and piglets. Back-fat thickness and body condition score of sows were not affected by housing systems for pregnant sows. There was no difference of estrus interval of pregnant sows between housing systems. The lower number of still-birth was observed in group housing type. The number of wounded sows in slatted floor was remarkably increased compared with sows in litter floor. This study showed that the housing systems could fairly impact sow and piglet performances.

Intolerance of uncertainty (IU) is defined as the tendency to react negatively on an emotional, cognitive, and behavioral level to uncertain situations and events. However, this definition is somewhat categorical and does not explain the phenomenology of IU. Intolerance of uncertainty scale (IUS), the standard measure of IU, was considered to have two factors : 'unacceptability and avoidance of uncertainty' and 'uncertainty leading to the inability to act'. IU may be a cognitive vulnerability factor for clinical worry and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). A number of moderators and mediators including cognitive avoidance, experiential avoidance and rumination influence the relationship between IU, worry, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, anxious and depressive symptoms. IU may be more strongly related to the symptoms of GAD than to symptoms of other anxiety disorders including obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and major depressive disorder. IU may serve as an important transdiagnostic feature across anxiety and depressive disorders. Incorporating IU-specific treatment components into therapeutic protocols may result in pervasive benefits, and not only for those with GAD or OCD, but for people with any anxiety disorder or with depression.
완충공간의 설치가 이유자돈사 온·습도변화 및 자돈 폐사율에 미치는 영향

This survey was conducted to collect basic data about the effect of buffering zone installation in weaned pig house. Buffering zone was installed either inside or outside of pig house to compare changes of temperature, humidity and air velocity of pig room. The body weight and mortality of weaned pigs in house with buffering zone was also measured. There was no difference in temperature, humidity and air velocity between inside and outside buffering zone. Mortality of weaned pig in house with buffering zone was drastically decreased compare to pigs in house without buffering zone that could be useful to maintain constant temperature and decrease mortality.
분만 면적의 차이가 분만돈의 생산성과 자돈의 성장능력에 미치는 영향

동물복지관점에서 많은 비난을 받아왔던 관행적 분만틀의 사용을 배제하고 넓은 분만시설의 면적의 제공이 모돈의 생산성 및 자돈의 성장능력에 미치는 영향을 좁은 분만시설로서 분만틀을 이용하여 비교하였다. 1. 좁은 분만시설과 넓은 분만시설에서 모돈의 사료섭취량, 등지방 두께, 그리고 체평점에는 아무런 차이가 없었다. 하지만 이유시와 분만시 등지방 두께와 체평점의 차이는 넓은 분만시설에서 유의적으로 감소하였다. 또한 모돈의 재귀발정일도 좁은 분만시설보다 넓은 분만시설에서 유의적으로 감소하였다. 2. 모돈의 분만능력은 분만시설의 면적에 의한 영향은 없었다. 하지만 넓은 분만시설 에서 분만전 모돈의 행동 자유가 분만시 신생자돈의 생존율에 영향하는 것으로 나타났다. 3. 분만시설 면적에 따른 차이는 이유자돈수, 자돈의 증체량에는 아무런 영향이 없었으나 넓은 분만시설에서 자돈의 폐사율이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과로부터, 모돈의 복지를 위해 넓은 분만시설은 모돈의 번식능력에는 효과가 있었으나 자돈의 폐사율 증가라는 생산성의 관점에서는 다소 불리한 것으로 판단되며 또한 자돈의 폐사율 증가에 대한 원인을 모돈과 자돈의 행동학적 관점에서 면밀히 연구할 필요가 있을 것으로 판단된다. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of different farrowing space, narrow and wide, on the sow performances and piglet growth performances. The $1.5m^2$ of narrow farrowing space was determined as the size of farrowing crate. The $3.0m^2$ of wide space for farrowing sow was the same of farrowing pen to allow the behavior freedom of sow. Baby piglets in the wide farrowing space was protected from crushing of sow by installation of safety bar. The pregnant sows used in this study were stall-housed during gestation and moved to each farrowing spaces on 8 d before parturition. Feed intake, backfat thickness and body condition score of sow were not affected by both farrowing spaces. However, the changes in backfat thickness and body condition score between farrowing and weaning in wide farrowing space were lower (p<0.05) than in narrow farrowing space. The return to estrus of sow was remarkably decreased in wide farrowing space compared to sows in narrow farrowing space. The lower number of stillbirth and higher mortality of piglets were observed in wide farrowing space. From the results, although wide farrowing space could be practically acceptable in terms of sow performances, possible cause of mortality of piglets should be scrutinized through observation of piglet and sow behaviors.
경기지역 젖소 농가 고온저감시설 활용 실태조사 및 축사내 온습도 변화

This survey was conducted to give the basic information and temperature and humidity variation by cooling systems in dairy farms in Korea. A total of 36 farms were surveyed in Gyeonggi province with the general information of farms such as milk production, and milk quality, types of cooling systems, and its operation method of dairy farms. All of surveyed farms have cooling fan and some have 1 more cooling systems such as sprinkler, foggy systems, ventilation duct, and shower system. Although the indoor THI of cow house was decreased by either ventilation duct or foggy system during hot season, the range belongs to mild heat stress scale for dairy cows.

This survey was conducted to give the basic information for ventilation systems of weaned pig house to establish the acceptable ventilation system in Korea. A total of 11 farms were surveyed in this study and 1 more farm in each province was regionally selected. The general information, inlet and outlet ventilation system, alley in house, space allowance of weaned pigs and manure management were surveyed. Space allowance of weaned pig in 82% of surveyed farms met the legal standard. Side wall inlet and outlet ventilation system were 82% and 73% of surveyed farms, respectively. Moreover, 73% farms have alley in the pig house to control temperature of inlet air. In this survey, both planar slot and circular duct inlet system and side wall fan outlet system could be a favorable ventilation system in weaned pig house.
