        KASINICS 광학계의 고스트 분석

        The reimaging optics of the KASINICS (KASI Near Infrared Camera System) includes many transparent components like an entrance window, band-pass filters, and blocking filters. As observational targets or in-field background objects, bright stars may cause optical ghosts that can significantly degrade the system performance of the KASINICS. We estimated analytically the relative brightness of ghost components with respect to a point source and examined the effects of tilting optical components as a method of suppressing ghosts. We also performed numerical ray tracings including all the optical components and found the results are consistent with those of the analytic estimations. We conclude that the KASINICS will not suffer from significant ghost effects with appropriate anti-reflection coatings and fittings for the optical components.

        Local wall thinning and integrity degradation caused by several mechanisms, such as flow accelerated corrosion, cavitation, flashing and/or liquid droplet impingement, is a main concern in secondary steam cycle piping system of nuclear power plants in terms of safety and operability. Thinned pipe management program (TPMP) has being developed and optimized to reduce the possibility of unplanned shutdown and/or power reduction due to pipe failure caused by wall thinning. In this paper, newest technologies, standards and regulations related to the integrity assessment, repair and replacement of thinned pipe component are reviewed. And technical improvement items in TPMP to secure the reliability and effectiveness are also presented.

        Lee's 메뉴엔지니어링 분석법(LME)의 적용 - 이탈리아 피자류를 중심으로 -

        The purpose of this study is an application of Lee's Menu Engineering (LME) method for menu analysis on the eight kinds of pizza selected from 17 kinds of pizza served by an Italian restaurant near by the Keimyung College University campus. The eliminated nine items were in the third quadrant or below the trend line. The LME method is more efficient than generally used methods such as the Miller, Kasavana & Smith, Uman, Pavesic and Merricks & Jones method. The LME method comprises reference lines and four quadrants created by x, y axes and its average values. The x and y axes comprise the sales ratio (MM%, percentage of the Menu Mix) and the weighted contribution margin (WCM%, percentage of the Weighted Contribution Margin) respectively. The obtained results are such that total sales increased by 1.59% from 58,747,200 won to 59,684,000 won, despite the decrease in sales volume. Total contribution margin also increased from 35,248,320 won to 35,810,400 won. The trend line also shows from y=0.9147x (R<sup>2</sup>=0.703) to y=0.9944x (R<sup>2</sup>=0.9893). These results indicate that the LME method is superior in practical applications.

        나트륨 섭취량 추정을 위한 소변 중 Cl<sup>-</sup>의 간이적 측정방법의 유용성 검증

        The purpose of this study was to measure concentrations of $K^+$, $Na^+$, $Cl^-$ by ionometer with check salt strip, simple salimeter and Ion-selective electrode (ISE) and compare the results of each mensuration; furthermore, the possibility of inferring the $Na^+$ concentration from $Cl^-$ concentration of urine and the impact of $K^+$ on the concentration of each ion was examined. The results showed that ISE determined $Na^+$ and $Cl^-$ concentrations in the urine are highly interrelated (R=0.9039); in addition, concentrations of $Cl^-$, measured with strip and ISE from urine are highly interrelated (R=0.9338). The concentration of $Na^+$ in urine, inferred by measuring $Cl^-$ concentration with strip, has a high relationship (R=0.8580) with the concentration of $Na^+$ in urine, measured by ISE. The results of our study will increase awareness of $Na^+$ intake and the utility of check salt strip, as well as the possibility of inferred $Na^+$ concentration from measures of $Cl^-$ concentration as a screening test for reducing sodium intake.

        청송 달기약수의 수질특성에 관한 연구

        청송 달기약수(상탕,중탕,하탕)의 수질특성을 파악하기 위해 1999년 5월부터 2000년 2월까지 약 1년 동안 계절별로 총 28개 항목의 함유성분을 분석하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 각 탕별 약수의 수질에 큰 차이가 있었다. 하탕약수는 Mg과 Na이 상대적으로 높았?만? 중탕약수는 Ca, K, Si, Fe, Mn, 전기전도도, 총염기도, DO, $Cl^-$, $SO_4^{2-}$등에서 상대적으로 높은 값을 보였다. 건강상 유해성분인 As, Cd, $Cr^{6+}$, Hg는 검출되지 않았으며, Pb는 기준이하로 나타났다. 먹는물 수질기준을 초과한 항목으로는 경도, Fe와 Mn이었다. 그러나 샘물의 경우에는 이 기준을 적용하지 아니한다고 규정하였다. 약수의 계절별 특징으로는 온도를 제외한 기타 항목에서는 뚜렷한 차이가 없었다. 음용수에서 섭취할 수 있는 미네랄 양을 알아보고자 미국 국립과학아카데미의 하루 요구허용량과 섭취 음용수의 양을 1.O L로 하고 購종善嗤?기준으로 계산한 결과, Ca 35.05%, Mg 36.43%, Na 5.88∼10.63%, K 0.19∼0.57%, Mn 21.86∼43.72%, Zn 0.65%, Cr,Cu, P 등은 0.01% 이하이고, Fe는 95.1%이었다. 따라서 달기약수는 철분이 풍부한 약수임을 알 수 있었다.달기약수는 K index가 111.7∼254.6,O index가 2.3∼4.5로서 Hashimoto가 주장한 K index 5.2,O index 2.O을 상회하므로 건강에 좋고 맛있는 물의 조건을 만족하고 있다. This study deals with the water qualities of Dalgi mineral spring in Cheongsong district.Water samples which were taken from upper, middle and bottorn spring sites were tested for twenty eight important water quality items including minerals, essential and/or toxic trace elements, and the analytical items to affect the taste of mineral water, seasonally from May 1999 to February 2000 The results obtained wereas follows:Each spring site showed much difference in major items. Bottom spring water showed higher value of Mg and Na than others. Middle spring water showed the highest value in all of the items except Mg and Na. The concentration of Hardness, Fe and Mn in mineral water were over than the normal standard for drinking water, but these items are not specified for the mineral water. As, Cd, $Cr^{6+}$ and Hg were not found and Pb was found ln trace level. All of the items proved nearly constant during the four seasons except water temperature. The contribution of mineral water to the nutrition of human was calculated in order to investigate the health effect of drinking water on the bases of Required Daily Allowance,one liter of water drinking and the mineral concentration of the bottom spring. The percentage of consumable minerals of Ca, Mg, Na, K, Mn,Zn and Fe were 35.05,36.43,5.88∼10.63,0.19∼0.57,21.86∼43.72,0.65, and 95.l respectively. This means Dalgl mineral water is pIenty of iron mineral. The K and O indexes of mineraI water appeared to be good for healthy and delicious water.

        흰쥐 자궁과 부정소에서의 Luteinizing Hormone (LH) 유전자 발현

        Recent studies clearly demonstrated that the novel expression of LH gene in the rat testis, and suggested the local action of the LH-like molecule. The present study was performed to analyze the expression of LH genes in the rat accessory reproductive organs. Expression of LH subunit genes in the rat uterus and epididymis was demonstrated by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and specific LH radioimmunoassay (RIA). The $LH_{beta}$ transcripts in these organs contained the published cDNA structure, the pituitary type exons 1-3, which encoded the entire $LH_{beta}$ polypeptide. Presence of the transcripts for the ${\alpha}$-subunit in the rat reproductive tissues were also confirmed by RT-PCR. In the LH RIA, significant levels of LH were detected in crude extracts from the rat ovary, uterus and epididymis. The competition curves with increasing amount of tissue extracts were parallel with those of standard peptide, indicating that the immunoreactive LH-like materials in these tissues are similar to authentic pituitary LH molecule. In rat epididymis, the highest amount of immunoreactive LH was detected in corpus area. Our findings demonstrated that the genes for LH subunits are expressed in the rat accessory reproductive organs, and suggested that these extrapituitary LH may act as a local regulator with auto and/or paracrine manner.

        물의 종류에 따른 오미자 추출액의 이화학적 품질특성

        음청류에 이용할 수 있는 오미자 추출액을 얻기 위해 증류수, 수돗물과 Ca, Mg 등의 미네랄이 풍부한 청송약수를 이용하여 오미자 추출액을 제조하고 이화화적 특성을 측정하였다. 오미자 추출조건으로는 25배의 용매비로써 실온에서 6, 9, 12, 15시간, $65^{\circ}C$에서 2, 3, 6, 9시간 동안 추출하였다. 추출용액의 명도(L, Lightness), 적색도(a, redness), 황색도(b, yellowness), 가용성 고형분(solid content), 산도(acidity), pH, DPPH 라디칼을 소거능을 이용한 전자 공여능(Electron Donating Ability, EDA)으로부터 전반적으로 양호한 추출조건을 구한 결과는 다음과 같다. 실온에서는 물의 종류에 상관없이 12시간 추출하는 것이 적당하였으며, $65^{\circ}C$ 가온 상태에서는 6시간 추출함이 적합함을 알 수 있었다. 가온 상태에서 약수의 경우 증류수, 수돗물에 비해 빠른 추출이 가능하였으며, 추출 시간이 증가함에 따라 산도는 낮아지나, 고형분의 양과 DPPH 라디칼을 소거능은 증가하였다. 전반적으로 고려할 때에 오미자 추출을 위한 가장 적합한 물로는 미네랄이 풍부한 약수이며, 다음으로 수돗물 그리고 증류수 순서임을 알 수 있다. This is the basic study on the extraction characteristics of Omija (Schizandra chinensis) for juices of Korean traditional foods. Extraction is being performed as 25 times of the solvent ratio at room temperature and at $65^{\circ}C$ with deionized water, tap water and Cheong-song mineral water which have high contents of Ca and Mg. The overall good results of the extraction conditions are calculated from the values of L (Lightness), redness (a), yellowness (b), soluble solids content, acidity, pH levels and the DPPH radical scavenging activity by using the electron donating ability (EDA). The results are as follows: 12 hours of room temperature and 6 hours at $65^{\circ}C$ were good extraction times. The Cheong-song mineral water at $65^{\circ}C$ is available for rapid extractions when compared to deionized water and tap water. A longer extraction time shows lower values of acidity but increasing values of soluble solids content and DPPH radical scavenging activity when using the electron donating ability. The best sequences for the extractions are Cheong-song mineral water followed by tap water and distilled water after overall consideration.
