Background: Limited information is available regarding the associations of various nutrients and periodontitis in Korea. Furthermore, these associations have been controversial in previous studies. Therefore, the present study aimed to evaluate the associations between several nutrients and periodontitis. Methods: Pooled data from the 2007~2010 and 2012 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (KNHANES) were used for the present study. Periodontitis was defined using the World Health Organization (WHO) Community Periodontal Index. All participants completed the Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ), which was analyzed using CAN-Pro 4.0. Vitamins A, B<sub>1</sub>, B<sub>2</sub>, and C, iron, phosphorus, calcium, and protein were selected for analysis. Multiple logistic regression analyses were used to estimate the odds ratios (ORs) for periodontitis. Results: Lower intake of phosphorus (adjusted odds ratio [AOR] = 1.86), calcium (AOR = 1.25), and protein (AOR = 1.52) were associated with periodontitis in males, and lower intake of vitamins A (AOR = 1.32), B1 (AOR = 1.21), B2 (AOR = 1.24), and C (AOR = 1.21), iron (AOR = 1.25), phosphorus (AOR = 1.33), and protein (AOR = 1.27) showed significant relationships with periodontitis in females. In the sociodemographic, somatic, and health behavior-adjusted models, lower phosphorus (AOR = 2.68) and protein (AOR = 1.68) intake in younger males, and lower vitamin A intake (AOR = 1.37) in middle-aged females were significantly associated with periodontitis. Conclusions: The results of the present study demonstrated a significant association between periodontitis and nutrient intake. To avoid an insufficient nutrient supply for a patient with periodontal disease, the patient's diet should be closely monitored.

Piezoelectric thick films of a soft $Pb(Zr,Ti)O_3$ (PZT) based commercial material were produced by a conventional tape casting method. Thereafter, the interdigitated (IDT) Ag-Pd electrode pattern was printed on the $25{\mu}m$ thick piezoelectric film at room temperature. Co-firing of the 10-layer laminated piezoelectric thick films was conducted at $1,100^{\circ}C$ and $1,150^{\circ}C$ for 1 h, respectively. Piezoelectric cantilever energy harvesters were successfully fabricated using the IDT electrode pattern embedded piezoelectric laminates for 3-3 operation mode. Their energy harvesting characteristics were investigated with an excitation of 120 Hz and 1 g under various resistive loads (ranging from $10k{\Omega}$ to $200k{\Omega}$). A parabolic increase of voltage and a linear decrease of current were shown with an increase of resistive load for all the energy harvesters. In particular, a high output power of 3.64 mW at $100k{\Omega}$ was obtained from the energy harvester (sintered at $1,150^{\circ}C$).

Piezoelectric thick films of soft $Pb(Zr,Ti)O_3$ (PZT) based commercial material (S55) were fabricated using a conventional tape casting method. Ag-Pd electrodes were printed on the piezoelectric film at room temperature and all 5 layered films with a dimension of $12mm{\times}16mm$ were successfully laminated for a multi-layered piezoelectric ceramic actuator. The laminated specimens were co-fired at $1,100^{\circ}C$ for 1 h. A flat layered and dense microstructure was obtained for the $112{\mu}m$ thick piezoelectric actuator after sintering process. Thereafter, a prototype piezoelectric speaker was fabricated using the multi-layered piezoelectric ceramic actuator which can operate as a bimorph. Its SPL (sound pressure level) characteristic was also evaluated for speaker application. Frequency response revealed that the output SPL with a root mean square voltage of 10 V increased gradually to the highest peak of 87.5 dB for 1.5 kHz and exhibited a relatively stable behavior over the measured frequency range (${\leq}20kHz$) at a distance of 10 cm, implying that the fabricated piezoelectric speaker is potential for speaker applications.

Objectives : The objective of this study was to assess a level of oral health related quality of life(OHRQoL) for rural communities elderly and to determine the association between OHRQoL and socio-economic position. Methods : The study population was elderly(60+year-old) residents of PyeongChang county, Jeongseon county, Yeongwol county, Gangwon province. A total of 171 people were invited to participate. Oral health related quality of life was measured using the GOHAI. The data were analyzed with Mann-Whitney U test or Kruskal-Wallis test and to assess socio-economic inequalities in OHRQoL(GOHAI), we used multi-variable logistic regression models. We used models adjusting for age, sex, family status factors(Model I) and compared them to models additionally adjusting for stress level(Model II). Results : There were significant differences in lower score of GOHAI at lower age group and live alone group. And we found that lower SES was significantly associated with lower score of OHRQoL. Social gradient in the score of OHRQoL persisted when adjusted for age, sex, family status, stress level. Conclusions : We recommend that oral health promotion program should be developed after due consideration SES for rural communities elderly because OHRQoL of rural communities elderly was low and association between SES and OHRQoL for rural communities elderly.

A unimorph piezoelectric cantilever generator with an interdigitated electrode (IDE) was developed for vibration energy harvester applications driven in the longitudinal mode. Hard lead zirconate titanate (PZT) ceramic with a high $Q_m$ of 1,280 was used as the piezoelectric active material. Ten PZT sheets produced by tape casting were laminated and co-fired with an Ag/Pd IDE at $1,050^{\circ}C$ for 2 h. The approximately $280{\mu}m$-thick co-fired PZT laminate with the IDE was attached to a stainless steel substrate with an adhesive epoxy for the fabrication of an IDE unimorph cantilever. Its energy harvesting characteristics were evaluated: an output power of $1.1{\mu}W$ at 120 Hz across the resistive load of $700k{\Omega}$ was obtained, corresponding to a normalized power factor of $4.1{\mu}W/(G^2{\cdot}cm^3)$.

A piezoelectric cantilever energy harvester (PCEH) driven in longitudinal (3-3) vibration mode was fabricated, and its electrical properties were evaluated by varying the resistive load. A commercial PZT piezoelectric ceramic with a high piezoelectric charge constant ($d_{33}$) of 520 pC/N and the interdigitated (IDT) electrode pattern was used to fabricate the PCEH driven in longitudinal vibration. The IDT Ag electrode embedded piezoelectric laminates were co-fired at $850^{\circ}C$ for 2 h. The 3-3 mode PCEH was successfully fabricated by attaching the piezoelectric laminates to a SUS304 elastic substrate. The PCEH exhibited a high output power of 3.8 mW across the resistive load of $100k{\Omega}$ at 100 Hz and 1.5 G. This corresponds to a power density of $10.3mW/cm^3$ and a normalized global power factor of $4.56mW/g^2{\cdot}cm^3$. Given the other PCEH driven in transverse (3-1) vibration mode, the 3-3 mode PCEH could be better for vibration energy harvesting applications.
온열요법과 기치유요법이 어깨근통증 압통역치에 미치는 영향

In this study, we wanted to understand the influence of thermotherapy, Qi-therapy, and their combination therapy on the oppressive muscular pains in shoulders. For the clinical study, 102 subjects were divided into 3 groups of thermotherapy, Qi-therapy, and the combination therapy to see the differences in the therapeutic effects. The treatments were taken 5 times for 2 weeks in 3-day intervals and pre- and post-treatment assessments were undertaken for the visual pain assessment (VAS, visual analogue scale) and experimental pressure threshold in 8 points in the relevant muscles (PPT). VAS score was decreased by 39% after thermotherapy, 66.5% after Qi-therapy, and 72.3% after combination therapy, all with significance (p<.05). The experimental pressure thresholds of shoulder muscles, the upper trapezius muscles, the lower trapezius muscles, the anterior trapezius muscles. the supraspinous muscles, the greater pectoral muscles, and the sternocleidomastoid muscles were increased by 4.3~11.3% after thermotherapy, 5.9~19.9% after Qi-therapy, and 9.3~25.4% after combination therapy. The experimental pressure thresholds in the 8 points in the relevant muscles did not show a significant difference between the Qi-therapy and combination therapy in the upper and lower trapezius muscles, however, did show a significant difference to the thermotherapy. In the shoulder muscles, anterior and posterior trapezius muscles, supraspinous muscles, supraspinous muscles, greater pectoral muscles, and sternocleidomastoid muscles, there were significant superiorities in Qi-therapy over thermo therapy, and in the combination therapy over Qi-therapy. In conclusion, it could be understood that both thermotherapy and Qi-therapy have been effective in the improvement of pains, and especially combination therapy showed better effectiveness. It is expected to apply these natural therapies to the pain treatment of human body to contribute to the improvement of health and welfare.
도심 수목원에서의 경관감상과 산책이 인체의 생리적 안정에 미치는 영향

This research was conducted to investigate the impact of viewing scenery and walking in the urban forest onphysiological relaxation of humans. The experiment was conducted in Hanbat Arboretum located in Daejeon, and thecontrol experiment was conducted in front of Daejeon City Hall. The subjects that participated in the experimentcomprised 24 Korean male university students in their 20s (average age, 21.1±2.5 years), participated in the experimentas the subject, and these subjects were classified into three groups divided into three locations such as the pine forest inArboretum, the pond in Arboretum, and the city. The subjects sat down and viewed scenery for 10 min, and they thenwalked for 15 min. Further, physiological changes were measured using indicators such as heart rate variability (HRV),blood pressure, and pulse rate. As a result, when subjects viewed scenery and walked in the urban forest, a statisticallysignificant increase in the high frequency (HF) power of HRV and decrease in systolic pressure was observed comparedwith when subjects viewed scenery and walked in the city. Through this research, it was found that activities like viewingscenery or walking in Arboretum of the city are effective in increasing the physiological relaxation of the city residents.
